Raiders waive DT Bilukidi, claim LB off waivers

The Raiders waived defensive lineman Christo Bilukidi this afternoon and claimed off waivers linebacker Martez Wilson from the New Orleans Saints.
Bilukidi was from the 2012 draft class that has failed to yield any sure-fire starters. Linebacker Miles Burris flourished last season after an injury to Aaron Curry, but he hasn’t been cleared to practice yet after offseason knee surgery.
Wilson, 25, played in four games for the Saints this season and 33 during his three seasons for New Orleans. He is 6-foot-4 and 252 pounds and played collegiately at Illinois.
Bilukidi, 23, appeared in five of Oakland’s six regular-season games this year. He recorded five tackles during spot duty as a backup. He played in 13 games as a rookie, when he notched eight tackles.

the heck are you lying about?
    – Our 1st rounder is starting on a very solid defense.
    – Our 2nd rounder was starting at RT and would be our left tackle right now if not for his injury.
    – 3rd rounder is part of rotation on top-15 D.

From the video you linked: Bowls through the center on the Cam Newton sack. Crosses up and breaks Joe Staley’s ankles on a sack assist. How can you say he never beat someone at the line? If you’re going to nit pick the small sample you have to also acknowledge the flashes.

  • Chris in NY

I’m hoping he lands on the practice squad and gets another shot next year. He was very raw coming out of college. Maybe with a little more time to develop he can get back in there.

  • KoolKell

Dude I’ve never read anywhere, anybody calling Bilukidi a beast.

  • SnBG

Oh but they will son they will.

  • LB32

    -Hayden doesn’t start
    – If you arn’t playing, you aren’t contributing.
    – 4 Tackles, 1 sacks boy don’t lite the world one fire!
Hey, did I write the article? I guess you’re half full when it comes this conversation.

  • Alex7

he’s senile, don’t worry yourself presenting logic to his brain. Overloads it.

  • SnBG

Oh but the will son, they will

  • Alex7

we start nickel defense vs the 3 WR offenses. Hayden is out there covering Dwayne Bowe all game and he doesn’t “start”? Quit cherry picking. You say they don’t even contribute.

  • Raiders for Life

Me too, for some reason I like Bilukidi. I think he played more DE in college than tackle. But yeah, I hope he lands on the PS.

  • LB32

Hayden is probably the best pick so far, a 1ster. It’s early but the other guys are doing much. That’s undeniable! Sometimes guys are out there cause they don’t hurt the team not so much cause they help.

That must mean 2 out of 3 semi’s think Kell’s Kool!

It’s funny because whenever your aunt would come over to see me, she’d stop by IHOP first, to get some syrup. Fantastic for certain activities.

  • Papertiger

    You misspelled “fat”

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

Hey. What happened to the comma?

  • Kinda weird that the injuries are wiping out mainly the offensive side. I mean for someone who thoroughly did his medical “homework” on DJ, I don’t understand why/how so much injuries on the offensive side, especially the line. On top of that, it wasn’t like Flynn hasn’t suffered from tendonitis before training camp. Definite head-scratcher.

  • Sorry, I’m not your father. My name isn’t Dkwad

I understood and agreed w the Flynn pickup at the time. But when I found out he had tendinitis before we picked him up? I was pretty pissed off.

Hayden was a huge gamble. So far so good health wise this year tho.

  • well not according to corkran.. he have stated several times that Bilukudi was a scout pick, that and another that I right now cant remember..

  • From a live-chat a month ago…

how do you rate RM’s d-line picks, bilukidi, mcgee, crawford?
by Forte September 17 at 9:23 PM

had nothing to do with Bilukidi and Crawford. Those were the result of
work done by the scouts he fired last year. So, we’re talking only about
Stacy McGee. Nothing to talk about so far.

If you saw that, I love it. I’m just not going to declare him a pass rushing talent on (agreed) a small sample that doesn’t show him beating OL and TEs with regularity. I said I liked the strip sacks and thought he might create some turnovers, how much more positive do you want me to be about this guy?
