Raiders learn of their London opponent

By Steve Corkran
Thursday, October 24th, 2013 at 9:13 am in Oakland Raiders.

The league announced Thursday morning that the Raiders will host the Miami Dolphins in one of three games played in London in 2014.
The Falcons and Lions are playing, as well as the Jaguars and Cowboys. The uniqueness of the Raiders opponent is that the Dolphins come from within the AFC. Typically, the NFL prefers teams that play in London be from opposing conferences.
More on this later, perhaps with a comment from coach Dennis Allen and a player or two.

Beating the Shittsburg Stoolers is a MUST-WIN game.

  • Papertiger

We need a vàgina in the White House, duh!

  • Prometheus

which means that the Steelers will win it 17-13.

  • Just Fire Baby

    Susana Martinez!!

  • Sir Raider Duck, OMS

It’ll be Hillary, especially since the GOP is continuing its “Keep the Brown People Out” campaign.

After Hillary, I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see former Newark mayor and incoming US Senator Cory Booker make a run at the White House.

  • Prometheus

should put a pornstar in there. can’t be worse

  • fingersrdrs

    Raiders 27… Steelers. 17…..

  • Prometheus

there has to be a better candidate.. sorry but hillary is a used up corrupt political prostitute. we need somebody better. only good democrat for me is kucinich but we both know where that goes.

  • Prometheus

27 points? could happen with some turnovers

  • Papertiger

Is Polamalalou playing? I’m kinda nervous about him, given Pryor’s struggles in the KC game.

  • seymour bush

You hate to say this is a must win game, but this IS a must win game.

  • Prometheus

its a must lose game. need to get a top 3 pick.

  • DJ Johnny

Based on our recent (and beyond) history of winning must win games your prediction is understandable.
    Time to buck that trend.

  • Sir Raider Duck, OMS

Of course Hillary is corrupt (so are 9/10 of the people in Washington). She also has an enormous well-funded political machine behind her, experience as both Senator and Secretary of State, and two of the best campaigners in US history (Bill Clinton and Barack Obama) ready to go out and give a million speeches on her behalf.

And in a nation where the percentage of minority voters is growing at a steady 2% per Presidential election, the GOP is becoming known as the party of the rich old white men.

  • fingersrdrs

All our Games are must wins

  • R8erEduc8er

Can’t believe they even came up with the name Washington Bullets lol.

  • Prometheus

remember the 2010 draft? rumor was that PIT was willing to trade Rothlesbooger to the Raiders for their 10th overall pick. AD should have made that trade

  • Papertiger

    Are you Marks Hair?

  • Prometheus

you have low standards man. she’ll do nothing for this country. she’s bought and paid for and is old and stale IMO. raise the bar

  • nolimits3333

No, he voted for Carlos Danger.

  • R8erEduc8er

The job’s Hillary’s if she wants it. The Repubs could be an election away from extinction. That’s why they’re pulling out all the obstructionist stops.

  • Prometheus

no I’m the bowl used for his haircut

  • Sir Raider Duck, OMS

I’m not saying who I WANT to win. If I picked the Presidents, Gary Johnson would be 9 months into his first term right now. I’m saying who I think WILL win. Hillary is going to be damn near impossible to defeat.

  • Just Fire Baby

    Never understood the “must-win” game.
When are our “don’t need to really win games”?

  • DJ Johnny

I understood every first round pick that Al made and why he did it.
The Jano pick? It came after a season where our kicker literally lost us games…a few of them at least. As much of a stretch as it was…I got it.
There’s so many picks in hindsight I wish he’d of made I wouldn’t know where to begin.
I didn’t agree with all his # 1picks but I got why he did them.
Huff is one at #7 in the first that is in the team photo as one of the worst imo.

  • Prometheus

you should hope not. we need more than 1 party, i think.. 18 trillion in debt and soon to lose reserve currency status. we need obstruction otherwise welcome to Elysium.

  • R8erEduc8er

Of course this is a must win game. I never take what coaches say in the media serious. Do you really think DA says to the public what he says to the team? In that locker room, I’m sure DA is telling the team it’s a must win….as is every week.

  • Theghostronin79

Well…….Because a team like Seattle made it into the playoffs at 7-9.
In college however, that saying is more true. A team can lose 1 game and miss out on the National Championship

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

Why are you always trying to talk football in here?

  • Just Fire Baby

Since the 08′ election Repubs have gained more House seats and Governorships. They are winning more elections then they were 10 years ago.

  • Theghostronin79

Or a team that’s already locked up the division, and “Sit” their starters in the final game or two because, “Who gives a F right?”
    I’m just being nit-picky

  • Just Fire Baby

So then in college they all are must-win. That’s my point, they are all must win, unless you are like 13-0 and have the #1 seed tied up.

  • RediaR

Well college doesn’t have a championship.

  • R8erEduc8er

I do hope not. This country needs checks and balances. Too much power in one party is suicide. There’s good in both parties but the bad in both parties are the loudest. Country needs a 3rd central party….actually, at this point I don’t know what the country needs. Too many fugged up people in Washington.

  • Prometheus

you could understand the philosophy behind his picks, just not the players he picked. he picked slowlando 3-4 in 10. OAK ran a 4-3. should have trade that pick for Ben.

  • Theghostronin79

Yeah, they SHOULD be…..But the reality is, a team can FUDGE up quite a few times and still get in.

  • Just Fire Baby

Thinking of taking Carolina in my survivor pool tonight (haven’t used them yet) but seems too risky.
Was hoping to hold onto the Saints for a few weeks but I think I am going to roll with them, sans Graham or not.

  • R8erEduc8er

The Huff and DHB picks were the only picks I disagreed with at the time. After drafting Huff, I went to his youtube and watched some highlights. I saw a skinny FS always tackling high that should be playing CB. Fastforward 7+ years and I still see that same player. The stupidity of the DHB pick is self-explanatory.

  • Prometheus

i don’t know either. 3rd party would splinter the GOP and you’d have democrats winning for 100 years. wouldn’t be democratic. what will happen is conservatives won’t have a voting choice. GOP will be moderate/liberal and dems will be socialist. right wing people won’t vote or won’t have a vote that counts

  • Sir Raider Duck, OMS

The GOP is winning more House seats because they control enough state legislatures to gerrymander the districts such a way as to create more Republican strongholds.

But none of that matters in national elections. It’s a pity, because a base Republican messages of lower taxes, less job-killing regulations and running government programs more efficiently would be perfectly valid. But then they have to start throwing in all this anti-abortion, anti-immigrant, anti-gay rights (which is being seen as this generations’s version of the civil rights struggle) and lately, anti-health care garbage.

If the GOP was serious about winning national elections, they’d drop their opposition to abortion, support limited amnesty and guest worker programs, and take no official stand on gay marriage other than “Let the states decide.” But it looks like they won’t do any of that before 2016. Maybe nominating a white male four straight times and having him lose to someone who isn’t a white male will finally make them snap out of it.

  • Just Fire Baby

That’s why they created Congress to have the power of the purse strings. Local elections can still matter and all voices can be at least somewhat heard.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

More hope than stupidity. Hoping he could improve his catching. He has, but not enough. With the ball in his hands, he’s more dangerous than the other WR’s most would have preferred over him.

  • Just Fire Baby

There is only one national election, every 4 years. Everything else is local. Not sure why you are talking about “winning national elections”.

Vegas Insiders say the line opened at Pitt -1.5 and has been pushed to -2.5 and even -3 (-125) in some spots.
