End 3rd qtr: Raiders 21, Steelers 3

By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Sunday, October 27th, 2013 at 3:29 pm in Oakland Raiders.

The Steelers controlled the ball for most of the quarter but failed to score, as Shaun Suisham missed a 32-yard field goal attempt following a 16-play drive that took 9:21 off the clock.

The Raiders are finding the going tough against a Pittsburgh defense that gave up 182 yards rushing in the first half.

Yea. Bob costas “retired” and turned into a super douche. I used to like that guy. Wanna pull his teeth out w rusty pliers now. Even worse r his comments about world events, when he forgets he’s just another talking head.

  • BossKnows01

Can’t remember 3 14-0 early leads in a season ever. I think ts by design, only shot at winning.

  • 0ak R8rs

Yea. Another ugly streak gone. That’s when I know we r turning the corner. When shlt like haven’t won after a bye and losing 20 something straight to a divisional opponent or whatever start going by the wayside. Another one bites the dust.

The same dudes complaining are probably the same ones that were clamoring for Davis to hire a GM and keep a head coach… Fact is people are extremely impatient. They expect immediate results and when they don’t get them they freak out.

There’s a saying: “Good things come to those who wait.”

  • disqus_yeZNegncsV

huge improvement in the secondary–actually, the whole D is an improvement

  • ENGLANDRAIDER

“— Jason Tarver, the Raiders’ defensive coordinator, flipped a bird to the game officials in the second half when they penalized an Oakland player for a high tackle — and then, after conversing, picked up the flag. The display of passion by Tarver, whose brains are not in question, was striking. But it only looked childish when the call was reversed. If he has any ambitions to be a head coach one day, he needs to moderate his sideline comportment. (And because Tarver has a Santa Clara University degree in biochemistry, he knows what “comportment” means.)” —Mark Purdy.
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    Tarver “needs to moderate” Purdy?
    Fik that.
Tarver is fine the way he is.

  • Morilla_00

    Purdy is a jacka$$

  • Papertiger

    Someone’s asking for a Kawakami Special…

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

    How would we know?

  • DJ Johnny

Only thing I worry about is refs taking it personal and flagging us now for every little thing…imagined or real we do.

  • r8ter4evr

Said it before the dysfunction and chaos that was the Raiders is a thing of the past RIP Al Davis

  • Papertiger

Was Mad Dog on sale today, KK?

  • lefty12

    They already do that.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

How did that first communion go last week?

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

Never had a three titted girl?

  • r8ter4evr

His defenses worked with old rules and a different era we are a modern blitzing machine on De offense will come around he was a genius arrogance and stubborness killed us

  • DJ Johnny

Seemed to me they were kind of laying off a bit.

Not sure if statistical data would back me up or not.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

    Kell will be happy.

  • DJ Johnny

I’d like to see a 21-3 lead go to 35-3 next time instead of when we have a big lead of 14 or more having to hang on for dear lives every time.

  • Try Some Reality

Mike Carey’s crew wasn’t out there. Otherwise, it would have been a different story.

This crew wasn’t bad at all. That was a bad call but they showed some integrity in picking it back up.

  • r8ter4evr

You mean around 1973 just fine thanks for asking

  • DJ Johnny

MR made a good post once during the 8-8 years when he said the Raiders appear to be playing like it’s impolite to pile on the opposing team and that it’s okay to go ahead and run up the score a bit and not feel bad about it.

  • 0ak R8rs

It will. Eventually. Learning how to win and close out games.

  • RealTruRaider

I quit reading after “MR made a good post once”

  • BossKnows01

Need some receivers that can get open and catch the ball CONSISTENTLY for that to happen

  • kenchun24

The team is playing hard for Allen and the coaching staff…these inconsistencies (continued 2nd half crappy O, stuff sack to giving up 3rd and 17′s etc…) are a bit of everything (Pryor pressing,WR’s not good, injuries, lack of true playmakers and better starters at some spots – depth overall) but there is a good core in Oakland for the future I think. Coaches, management and players. Been in every game (except for Denver after the Decker big pass reception following Moore’s pass TD)…no dogging, happily surprised of the org/team this year considering the offseason and pre-season.

    Keep it up Raiders.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

I’m watching the game right now. Does our third TD come via regular nfl play?

  • r8ter4evr

Past teams would have found a way to lose this game

  • Que

    my man…tell it

  • ENGLANDRAIDER

I”ve been on here many times going after MR but he’s made a lot more than just “one” good post.

  • RealTruRaider

    Just Win Baby!!!

  • 0ak R8rs

Haha. Well, what he said was…….. JK.

  • Just Fire Baby

    Vic Tafur‏@VicTafur11m

#Raiders defense allowed 35 yards rushing today, the third time this year an opponent has run for less than 40 yards — all at home.

    *********************************
Dennis Allen = strength of our team

  • lefty12

More than quite a few others-no names mentioned.

  • kenchun24

Yup…way better than the sieve of a rushing D Oakland has had since …heck, since the 1999-2003 years I think.

  • 0ak R8rs

Exactly. We have a ways to go. And apparently a vicious division, all of a sudden one of the best in the league. But I like what I see. After game 3 preseason I was thinking we would be lucky to beat Jacksnville and be 1-6 at this point. The reality is, we could easily be 5-2 right now. But I’ll take 3-4 w a home game coming up against a lousy Philly team.

  • Morilla_00

I think all of them were.

  • DJ Johnny

MR has been one of the more milder, positive posters on here going on two years now.

    Seriously.

  • Jim Jesus

But we gotta put the hammer down I.e. like after the sack we had 3rd and 17 and Jenkins gets beat for a 17 yd pass and a first down. Not impressive IMO

  • r8ter4evr

New modern system smarter players RIP Al

  • lefty12

    You would know.

  • 0ak R8rs

We rarely give those up. Happened 2 or 3 times today. I consider it an abhoration, and a result of roethlisberger and some experienced WRs.

  • r8ter4evr

    Big ben aint no slouch

  • 0ak R8rs

    New post.

  • raider_39

    new post peeps

  • DJ Johnny

Excuse the hell outta me for giving someone a little credit.

    Jerk.

  • lefty12

We get the lead, play smash mouth football, take few chances. That is what we will do while our young QB and WRs earn the trust of the coaching staff.

  • ENGLANDRAIDER

Don’t really think that the Eagles are as bad as they’ve looked the last two games.
Chip has certainly seemed lost in the NFL a few times.
Be a mistake to take Barkeley for granted.

  • ENGLANDRAIDER

    Yeah, Big Ben is something.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

I’m still watching the game. Did Pryor do anything after that awesome run?
