Raiders-Eagles game sells out, will be televised locally

The Raiders game against the Philadelphia Eagles sold out, and it will be televised locally, a team spokesman said Thursday.
The game begins at 1:05 p.m. Sunday at the Coliseum, as the Raiders aim for their second straight victory and fourth overall. They won only four games all last season.
The Raiders now have sold out all five of their regular-season home games this season and 20 of their past 21 dating to the start of the 2011 season.
The Raiders can gain a sweep of the Pennsylvania teams with a win over the Eagles. Last Sunday, the Raiders beat the Steelers 21-18 as they improved to 3-4.

We shouldn’t draft OG or C in the 1st.

  • Raider O

They should have sent Gallery. He raped AL and the Raiders. How much was that pu$$y making to be an avg OG?

  • Dakota

If you have a mid to late 1st round pick, and the guy is a stud, I would pick a C or G in round 1. Alex Mack, Iupati and Pauncy are a few of them I would have picked in the 1st round.

  • EMRaiders

Remember though, he was regarded as a future hof tackle, and prob the best lineman in that draft. A for sure bet, shows you how much the so called experts know…

  • hwnrdr

    Exactly!

  • Gdog

you could do that for any team…

  • Raider O

It depends on the level of talent of the team IMO.

  • rifflicks

the Sports Media reports…. that you eat with a spoon, does the thinking for you, and gives you the feeling that your an expert…..loved the Gallery pick and considered it a sure thing

  • Dakota

I know, but most NFL teams do not have the draft record we had over the past 25 years or so…..just horrible. Even when we hit on a talented player, D. Russell, McGlockton, Woodson, they had attitude or drug problems. It is no wonder why we have been mediocre to bad for so many seasons (less the Gannon/Gruden era)

  • Charlie

    O
It was not just the 2004 Draft.
Every year from 2003-2010 was a disaster given how many picks we had and where we were picking.
Remember all the picks we got for Gruden?
Then we started giving away picks for guys like Palmer and Seymour.
    Total collapse.

  • Dakota

Don’t forget all the “experts” who came out of the Russell workout saying they had never seen anything that good ever! McShay was the only guy that went on to say….but he may not have the passion for the game.

Charlie: are/were you a Hue Jackson fan??

  • rifflicks

at least AL was old and getting senile, and was desperate for another Lombardi

Derek Carr or Jeff Matthews 2014 Draft

5 years from now, what will they say about DJ Hayden? I think at that time we’ll be bragging about him being the best CB in the AFC West 2015-2018

  • R8erEduc8er

Sammy Watkins or Anthony Barr (unless we’re too low in the draft order to get them)

  • rifflicks

    We NEED a QUARTERBACK

It looks like the Texans are cool rolling with Keenum & Yates the rest of the season. Anybody else surprised they didn’t shop Schaub to the Bucs, Rams, Jags, Browns or Eagles before the trade deadline passed?

  • Raider O

That’s true, but that one hurts the most.
1- Gallery: many PBers were drafted that year
2- Jabustus: passing on 2 HOF players (AP and CJ)
3- McClain: he said he didn’t want to come to Oak, and he was a pos

there will be MANY teams looking to draft a QB this April … expect the Cards to join those teams I just mentioned, when Palmer gets dumped and/or retires. I predict 7 QB’s drafted in the first 2 rounds

I was much more a supporter of all the coaches than the players for the last ten years.
I have never seen the talent level as poor as it was on the Raiders from 2003-2011. Just awful. No coach could win with the lack of talent and over paid mediocrities we were trotting out on the field.
The only Raider coach I never felt comfortable with was Lance.
Felt like he was a guy that could NOT be trusted.
I also felt Lombardi did a lot to help destroy the Raiders.
Wished Art had punched him out as almost happened in 2006.

the same problem still exists. Dennis Allen is awesome – Reggie isn’t. cant blame Al Davis for everything. 3 years from now you’ll still be singing the same song

  • AutumnThunderstorm

“There are no perfect play calls, just prefect execution. “One of my favorite lines from a coach ever, Herman Edwards couldn’t have said it better himself.
Tarver will be a head coach in 5 years.

Kobe gets a $24.3 million dollar lump sum payment today, but look at what the redistributors do to his actual take home:

“In his tax bracket, Bryant is subject to paying a federal tax at the top rate of 39.6 percent, which would mean $9.6 million will be withheld and given to Uncle Sam. As a California resident, he’s subject to paying an additional 13.3 percent, or $3.2 million, in state taxes. California has the highest state income tax in the United States. The Medicare tax and surcharge would reduce his total take to about $10.9 million, Raiola said.”

  • Raider O

Johnathan Martin is getting bullied in the locker room?! He is an OT?!
What’s wrong with people these days?

  • R8erEduc8er

    We HAVE a QUARTERBACK

  • AutumnThunderstorm

I noticed Tarver kept crediting both Reggie& Dennis for the players the Raiders have signed.

  • hwnrdr

I don’t think that affects him anymore! Its probably chump change to him now!

  • AutumnThunderstorm

Don’t forget the jock tax, and yes there is such a thing.

  • eastoaklandraider

I hope you are right, but right now I just don’t see it. If he can’t become a starter by seasons end and Jenkins and porter are great i see him being like the 1st rnd Pick from the jets out of boise state.

I am firmly convinced we will have a strong draft in 2014 and make a viable playoff push next year. It is what I have been saying all along.
Given my many years as a Raider fan I am ecstatic of what we are building.
We will be a balanced, tough, physical football team.
Many think that is not “part of today’s” game. They think that you must create space with formations and schemes and trickery.
We will create space by blocking people and destroy space on defense by setting the edge and nullifying blocks.
    Raider football.
That is where some simply to not agree with Reggie’s approach.
I for one am ecstatic about it.

  • Dakota

“Bryant will pay so-called “jock taxes” to states in which he plays on the road. But those payments will be credited toward his California income tax.”

  • eastoaklandraider

Barr will be gone when we pick but Sammy may be there, bt will Reggie take him with his baggage?

  • R8erEduc8er

If we win Sunday, the media needs to shine a light on how we’re able to compete and win games with so much dead money!!

  • rifflicks

no….we have a temporary steppingstone to getting a Franchise QB

  • Raider O

He gets less than 45% of his income/ salary!!
I thought we lived in the USA, not Canada or Europe.
F the Gov. They want more money? Go earn it and stop wasting the money you collect.

  • J Hill

Don’t you get tired of being wrong?

Hayden doesn’t even get thrown at.

  • R8erEduc8er

no….we have a starting quarterback progressing into a Franchise QB

  • R8erEduc8er

I think they’ll both be gone actually. Also don’t think Sammy has any baggage. Young college kid that made a mistake, that’s all.

  • Charlie

Another reason why 2014 is really a critical point for us.
The first time we have some money to work with and a full set of draft picks.
IMO we will not bring in big money FA’s but we will spend some on guys we want to keep like Houston.

  • http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnnie_Lee_Higgins RaiderRockstar

Charlie, Reggie is a meathead. Dennis is the brains behind this operation

  • http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnnie_Lee_Higgins RaiderRockstar

so who is the Eagles starting QB this Sunday? are they down to Jaworski ??

  • bcz24

Foles was announced as the starter on Wednesday…

  • rifflicks

BWAHAHAHAHAHA…tell me you don’t really believe that

  • rifflicks

then you haven’t read or heard Olson and Allen talk about Pryor’s developement

  • http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnnie_Lee_Higgins RaiderRockstar

thanks bcz. what do we know about him, other than he was just recently concussed ??

  • Jayhawk_Raider

We know that he is a better passer than Vick and he doesn’t have a very good Oline.

  • Charlie

Foles was named the starter Wed in the local media out here.

  • bcz24

We know he torched TB and was terrible against Dallas… That’s about it. LOL

if we can contain McCoy & DJAX, we should be fine…right? (tall order I know)
