Pryor at practice, McFadden sidelined

The Raiders injury situation is a mixed bag in terms of who was able to practice Wednesday. Most important for the Raiders, quarterback Terrelle Pyror is on the field and showing no lingering effects from the right knee injury he suffered against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
Running back Darren McFadden, wide receiver Juron Criner, offensive tackle Matt McCants and linebacker Kaluka Maiava are hurt badly enough to where they aren’t cleared to practice.
McFadden isn’t even on the field watching, whereas Criner, McCants and Maiava are present. Criner’s right shoulder is in a sling as a result of the injury he received in the Eagles game.
On the bright side, wide receiver Rod Streater and kicker Sebastian Janikowski are at practice and doing everything asked of them, at least in the early portion of practice, which bodes well for their playing Sunday against the New York Giants.
Also, receiver Andre Holmes is back on the field and healed enough to give his injured hamstring injury a test drive. He tweaked his hamstring in practice last week and wasn’t able to play against the Eagles.
Finally, backup offensive lineman Andre Gurode is on the practice field after missing significant time since he injured a quadriceps last month.

– Right offensive tackle Tony Pashos still hasn’t been cleared to practice. Therefore, it appears as if rookie Menelik Watson is in line to make his first NFL start Sunday, given Pashos and backup McCants aren’t even healthy enough to practice yet.
Watson replaced McCants early in the Eagles game and fared well in his first action in a regular-season game. He missed most of training camp with a calf injury and most of the first half of the regular season with knee and calf injuries.

– The Raiders worked out defensive ends Chris McCoy and Jermaine Cunningham and defensive tackles Frank Kearse and Will Tukuafu on Tuesday.
Cunningham and Tukuafu spent time with the 49ers this season. None of the four was signed by the Raiders. The fact they worked out all defensive linemen shows that there’s concern about the lack of pressure and depth at both positions.

What did Dan Marino get troll?

  • Raider O

    Why not activate DE Robinson?
Btw, Is Bass still with the bears?

  • The_Judge37

Forgot about that dude, he was the only one getting preassure in Preseason.

  • The Beeeeech Dawg

So you know how to use Google but have no idea how to score a shorty at a penthouse party

  • The Beeeeech Dawg

    I guess that’s hella tight

  • Raider O

He is inactive. I’m not too happy with Titty Monkey’s roster management skills.

  • 10centsworth

Terry Bradshaw? I think he audited the Wlic…

  • R8erEduc8er

If only Hue as OC could work politically….

  • Raider O

Who cares about the wonderlic scores. High scores from busts and avg QBs, and low scores from PB and HOF QBs.

  • RaidingTexas

Or Blaine Gabbert for that matter. Didn’t he score 40-something? Wonderlic doesn’t appear to be a measure of NFL success.

  • Jim Jesus

Why don’t we just activate a bunch of MONKEYS?? Can’t be much worse.
Damn O that was a disgusting display of football skills (or lack there of) last Sunday!

  • Raider O

Monkeys?! Great idea!! I bet 11-12 monkeys would have not allowed 7 TDs. 7 TDs!!! And some keyboard Monkeys want to blame TP?

  • http://www.cosmicdanceband.com/ SilverandBlack666

The point is that a QB has to be the smart guy on the team. He should understand the game at a different level than everyone else almost like a coach on the field. The problem is that it takes a long time for this to happen.

  • 10centsworth

Terry Bradshaw? Dumb. That was the rap on his coming out of college and Noll was a whisper from letting him go.

  • R8erEduc8er

I think the problem is our biggest investment in the WR corp is a 4th rounder, our TE is a what 5th rounder (?), and our o-line is in shambles.

  • rifflicks

he got into the hall of fame

  • http://www.cosmicdanceband.com/ SilverandBlack666

Dumb yeah….a Hick maybe…But the reason he has the job he has right now is that he has a pretty good understanding of the game. I would bet that as dumb as he is he watched a lot of film and could read defenses.

  • 10centsworth

I got your point…and can somewhat agree. Just point out the most blatant example, one with 4 SB rings.

  • Raider O

After thinking about it, I doubt it will make a difference. Titty Monkey and RM= Same Results.

  • http://www.cosmicdanceband.com/ SilverandBlack666

Yeah you raise a good point. You seem to have good insight on things even if our opinions are opposite.

  • RaidingTexas

I agree. Hard to judge any QB when your WR corp would be practice squad players elsewhere.

  • http://www.cosmicdanceband.com/ SilverandBlack666

So Palmer did not deserve all the hate he got in here last year?

  • R8erEduc8er

Nope. But for what Palmer was making, it was time to move on. Plus, Palmer didn’t want to be here.

  • Raider O

Have you heard B Favre speak? Do you know his story? That dude wasn’t the smartest player on his teams. I guarantee it.
    T Bradshaw is another example.

  • rifflicks

over 4000 yards on last years squad was amazing….I wish he was still here.

  • RaidingTexas

Palmer had top level WRs in Cincy, yet still only posted one good season. He long proved what he was before he got to Oakland.

  • RaidingTexas

    This too.

  • rifflicks

they said the same thing about Plunkett

  • http://www.cosmicdanceband.com/ SilverandBlack666

He might be a dumb hick but I bet he can draw up plays with the best of them and probably read a defense better than some coaches.

  • rifflicks

you condescending bigoted snob….his southern accent means nothing about his intelligence

  • RaidingTexas

Can’t even debate with someone who invokes a Plunkett comparison when talking about Palmer.

  • 10centsworth

    Truth to that. Truth.

  • rifflicks

not a direct comparison of plunkett to palmer….rather pointing out your narrow mind

  • Sir Raider Duck, OMS

Actually, Pryor got a 14 by most standards (he took it and got a 7, then retook it and got a 21 — most GMs would just average the two scores).

  • RaidingTexas

If it’s narrow-minded to think it HIGHLY unlikely that a QB suddenly gets “it” late in his career – seeing as it has rarely happened, and not at all happened since Gannon – then yes, my brain is as narrow as your manhood.

  • Raider O

I doubt it. If he was that smart, he would have avoided throwing more picks than any HOF QB.

  • R8erEduc8er

Martez Wilson needs to be on the field playing some DE on Sunday!

  • Guest

    open wide little boy

  • kenchun24

Yup…need some “Alphas” at those positions IMO. Raiders haven’t had one since the Randy Moss debacle.

Mike Evans, Sammy Watkins, Eric Ebron, Austin Sefarian Jenkins all of these WR’s/TE’s should be on the radar for Reggie’s scouting crew at the moment.

  • rifflicks

    whats Arizona’s record now

  • RaidingTexas

One game better than the Raiders, right? Who’s their #1 WR?

  • Jim Jesus

Our D embarrassed itself. Can’t blame that on TP and you can’t blame the coaches but so much. Stoned Monkeys are the answer for sure. Congrats on the one in the oven too.

  • RaidingTexas

I didn’t think they let your type access computers in prison, Sandusky.

  • rifflicks

    4-4

  • R8erEduc8er

Need some Andre Johnsons and AJ Greens on this team. Guys with size who expect to catch the ball anytime it’s thrown to them. Our WRs would be backups on any other team….some would be unemployed if we let them go. D Moore is the only decent playmaker.

  • R8erEduc8er

    A future HOFer.

  • R8erEduc8er

    40-something? Really?

  • rifflicks

Like he’d make a difference here with Pryor at QB

  • RaidingTexas

Isn’t that what I said? Palmer has Larry Fitzgerald, yet still has won only one game more than the Raiders, and has a worse QB rating than TP. You can’t really be defending that trade.

  • http://thebadtenants.com/ eternal pessimist

Throwing picks had nothing to do with intelligence, it was more because he took risks. it would have gotten him benched if it weren’t for the fact he also threw more TDs, yds and everything else than any QB ever HOF or not.
