would you shoot somebody if they were sitting on your chest and pounding on your face? it seems possible that you might panic and think your life was in danger.carry a firearm does change the whole game. Kids should walk away. . don’t swing on somebody just swallow your pride and live another day.

  • bcz24

That was Kaelin Burnett on the punt, he made amends to an extent with his own blocked punt.

  • The_Civilian_James_Trapp

    Beurlein sucked.

  • NewEra S&B

TP supporters are definitely unwinding.. It’s all up to him now to prove his worth. Enough excuses.

  • RediaR

Palmer would be better, but he is not worth paying for 2 seasons and putting off actually looking for a QB.

  • bcz24

    5th rounder for Flynn…

  • The_Civilian_James_Trapp

That’s fantastic, but he did nothing illegal by getting out and seeing what the kid was doing. But guess what, assaulting someone is.

  • bcz24

How many hits did McGloin take in the 4th qtr against philly? Cuz he sure didn’t get killed. Or do you think they just held back and didn’t rush the passer.

  • Charlie

    Purvisman
iT happened in week 15 with Palmer last year.
With this line it would have been week 4.
Pretty obvious to me after we have cycled through five QB’s and five coordinators in about as many years with the same results.
How about we try something different and actually block effectively? Fortunately we will invest another high round pick in our Oline this April and we will continue to build where it matters most.

  • DutchRaid

Good post, except, YES, I BLAME KNAPP, HE IS TERRIBLE!
The thing that boogles my mind is that Allen should be held accountable for the offense, but as a head coach Hue Jackson was not responsible for the defense?

  • Dakota

We have our own mini-Tebow situation going on inside the Nation. It is like a nightmare……except our version of Tebow can throw a little bit better than Tebow, but can’t win games like Tebow. And there is an slightly insane branch of the fan base that is under the delusion that our Tebow is good, just like there was an insane, brain damaged bunch of Dungver fans that thought Tebow was good. What Reggie needs is to find a way out by finding another Manning!

  • The_Civilian_James_Trapp

Hues’ offense down the stretch was with Palmer who we came here mid-season. You really expect us to dominate in that situation? We should have built on Hue’s offense & rebuilt the defense, but Reggie wants to win with “My guy” as opposed to someone else’s guy.

  • Dakota

    My bad.

  • loyal

If DA can’t get this team to at least 7-9, let the hunt for Gruden begin. I know we need continuity but after watching this team for 40yrs and suffering for the past 11yrs something has to change. No more band aid coaches.I go into every season with hope and sure enough we always seem to be 3-6.

  • Charlie

    Dakota
You can not expect Gurode, Pashos (out of football last year) to hold up effectively for a 16 game season.
A team with a real Oline would have a guy like Watson waiting in the wings.
Our Oline has two proven NFL starters. Wiz and Veld. TWO!!!!!
Brisiel and Barnes are 31 and are past their prime if they ever had one.
    Watson-rookie
    Bergs-unknown
    McCants-unknown.
Nix- You have to be kidding!!!!!
Last time I checked you need five good offensive lineman.
We need a lot of help on this unit.

  • 2romes

They díd not want to reason with sound reasoning. And here we are.

  • kuhlest

I agree, but there isn’t a coach out there that could make the playoffs with the roster DA ha had the last 2 years…
I say give him a shot next year with a QB and retooled roster, he has endured the last 2 rosters

  • bcz24

Elway got lucky, the only way to get out from under the mania was to bring in a first ballot HoFer and instantly become the top team in the AFC. That guy isn’t available. The only FA QB that I would take over another draft pick is Cutler. He would certainly improve the team, but he wouldn’t instantly make us a contender.

  • fingersrdrs

This is a Raiders blog… You cant just say” shut up” when you dont like the opinions you read…..we stayed with Russell far to long as well..weve been patient 11 yrs….a learning curve is supposed to go up not down…..

  • Charlie

DA AND REGGIE HAVE FOUR YEAR DEALS.

They are staying. Deal with it.

Our players are not good enough. Has been the problem since 2002. Noticed how our record stays the same under SEVEN DIFFERENT STAFFS OVER THAT TIME FRAME???

It’s going to be structured around the personnel part and getting good players,” Madden said. “It’s all about players. We can talk about this thing and that
thing and having good cheerleaders and all that. That’s all nice but you have to have players. If you have players, you’re probably going to win. If you
don’t have players, you’re not going to win.”

  • kuhlest

if he gets a 3rd year anything less than 8-8 would be cause for change, no coach survives 3 loosing seasons in a row in the nfl

  • kuhlest

no manning out there…Cutler might be available, Freeman should be available, but no manning

  • fingersrdrs

I also think it might do Pryor some good to sit a couple games…. And start McGloin just to see if anythings there

  • 2romes

I have not seen anything like this new era of Raider fans either. I never want the Raiders to lose I don’t care if it cost them a first round pick. Just win!

  • prometheus

Palmer was sacked 26 times in 14 games in 2012
Pryor has been sacked 29 times in ONLY 8 GAMES in 2013!!!!

PRYOR holds the ball too long. Pryor is the problem. not just the oline. what escape ability?

  • Dakota

You guys don’t think the Patriots might trade Brady this offseason to hand the team over to Mallet?

  • Dakota

If that was the case, then why were there reports that Reggie was contemplating firing Dennis Allen after last season? And with us on pace for a 5 or 6 win season, why would he not consider it again?

  • Sir Raider Duck, OMS

So someone has every right to follow you around a neighborhood, and when you ask them why they’re following you, they get to shoot you dead. Wonderful.

  • Sir Raider Duck, OMS

He was stalking the kid all over the neighborhood. And a “neighborhood watch” member has no special rights or privileges under the law.

  • Sir Raider Duck, OMS

Why would a 70-year-old Latino woman be following a 17-year-old around a neighborhood while carrying a gun?

  • Dakota

I know we need help on the o-line, that is why I suggested we go out and sign a very good young FA like Alex Mack.
A good GM will look at their own free agents (Veldheer) and then at the players available in the draft, and then possible free agents and also at other areas of the team that need to be address, and what assets would best be used to address those deficiencies.
In this case I believe that we should address the o-line with a free agent signing (Mack), and then hit our other holes at DE, WR and QB in the draft. Perhaps we sign a veteran pass rusher like Justin Tuck as a stop gap, and then get some o-line depth in the draft in rounds 3-5.
Generally I have always been for building the o-line. I wanted us to draft o-line badly in 2009 and even last year I had hoped one of the tackles would have fallen to us.
This year, we clearly still need help at the o-line, and we could get that with free agents, and then get some young players in at WR and QB…..simply because the free agent market in those positions are weak, and the draft class at those positions seems strong at this point.

  • bcz24

    No.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

    new post

  • bcz24

Jared Allen is a free agent and almost certainly not returning to Minnesota. He and Mack are my top 2 FA targets. We actually have the ammo to make it happen too.

  • fingersrdrs

Agree…. Never understood the lose for a high draft choice mentality ….. Like a coach could ask his players to take a dive…these guys are always playing for a job next year….they have pay incentives in their contracts…. You have to feel sorry for anybody that could be so dumb as to think players would want to ever lose… Theirs no reward in losing…. Weve been losing for 11 yrs and i havent seen a reward yet

  • DutchRaid

Neighborhood watch? Busy-Body neighbor? You really think this is uncommon in America? Yeah, I never had an @$$-Hole neighbor inquirer what me and my friends were up to when we were tennagers.
Do you know anybody that lives in Florida? It is quite common for people to walk around carrying their gun. My girlfriend’s family always tell me that I should “watch it.” because in Florida you never know who is and who isn’t packing.
Do I think that is crazy? Yes, I don’t think people should carry around guns…

  • kuhlest

this statement is true but also false…
    the Oline is very important
    <<< I don't think you use a top 5 pick on Oline, 1st round yes, top 5 no…

look at the teams in the last 10 years that drafted an OL in top 5 vs the ones that drafted a skill player in top 5….. I will mark with astericks if player has had impact

“Embarrassing is talking about guys like Pryor and Flynn like they actually give us a chance to win. Makes our fans look very dumb.”

Ah, yes, “Dakota” that you for popping up. “Acutually gives a gives a chance to win” – you mean like the Colts whom we almost beat? The Steelers? I often wonder what it would be like to watch a game with some of you. How did you feel when Pryor scored his 93 yard TD? Did you cheer? How about when he scrambles around on 3rd and 15 and converts? Were you happy? I guess not.

  • raider68

Ok – then get of Pryor’s jock if you know all this. The kid is young and still learning.

  • JonGrand

They got that false start penalty in the shotgun formation, where you get a lot of your false start penalties. Keep it simple from the 1 yard line with a weak line.

  • Guest

Uhh…I wasn’t asking for more creativity…I was asking for less. I know he’s limited as an OC, and that is even more of a reason to keep it simple on the goal line. I’d like to think that we can get 1 yard on three tries running the ball out of the I-Formation. QB sneak, FB run, RB behind the FB. Keep it simple

    Pryor is winning?

  • JonGrand

Remember the good ol’days with Crocket up the middle from the 1? Everyone knew what was coming, and didn’t matter. With the likes of Tom Brady, Manning, and Brees, be as cute as you want to be. Not with Pryor
