Yes, Pryor is still a run first and any QB you put back there will learn to be a run first QB at time time as well. If players and coach can’t take advantage of teams due to a lack in details winning consistently will not be impossible. Heck the Raiders struggle to sell a screen play. I seen that play fail as much as it has been successful.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

Not a third year rookie QB. Give him all of next season, resign him and see how he does in 2015.

  • Al_is_theraiders

    great job shrek!!!

  • prometheus

Pryor is bad. stares down Wr, holds the ball too long.. basically Pryor takes the snap looks for his first option and then runs to his right to scramble or throw. its so predicable and defenses have Pryors number.

  • prometheus

    jeezus i hope ur joking

  • disqus_yeZNegncsV

I liked CP, but hey, he didn’t want to stay here. Period.

  • Al_is_theraiders

he did for his agreed to pay, he had already renegotiated his contract and reggie wanted to do it again. Shrek got greedy and he was flynntized….

  • prometheus

A QB that can lead AND make plays is the #1. OLINE plays as well as the QB it protects. its a synergy that starts with the signal caller. it really ALL falls on the QB. but believe what you want lets pick OL in the first round for the next 3 drafts and see what happens

  • prometheus

what good is knowledge if you;re a headcase. Charles Manson has knowledge too, so does the unibomber

  • jumpnjiminy

that bum has 15 interceptions and qb rating of 74.5…not saying TPs doing better, but I for one don’t miss him.

  • 2romes

It not all being about sixth in scoring it is about scoring when you have to score to win games. The Raider scored a lot of meaningless points when the game was out of reach.

  • DJ Johnny

Again. this loss yesterday is a backbreaker and should be big concern.
It is not a matter of the Giants “just being better”. There is no way we should’ve lost but just like the old Raiders WE FOUND A WAY TO LOSE despite everything right there for the taking.
I found it easier taking last weeks humiliating beatdown than ….THIS.
DA is 7-18 with a myriad of “excuses” or if it makes it sound better…”reasons” for losing, but yesterday it was NOT a matter of being “outmatched” by the 2-6 Giants.
Pryor led us to 13 pt’s and a “net” of 6 pt’s since he gave away that backbreaking pick and STILL…we should have won.
    I know Hue’s 8-8 was a “mirage”…not real..or whatever and DA’s 7-18 is really awesome in real life.
These are the kind of games that get u fired. Games that end (for all intents and purposes) your season…Games you know you had no business losing but yet inexplicably found a way to do just that.

  • Al_is_theraiders

    whats his record?

  • jumpnjiminy

his career record is 59 and 71…he’ll float back to that ‘winning’ % by season’s end…

  • prometheus

    Flynn > Pryor
Palmer> Pryor= FACT Flynn would have more TDS than INTS in 8 games. what a fuking joke.

  • prometheus

need an elite pass rusher. would take D to a new level.

  • Al_is_theraiders

this year is all that matters….

  • DutchRaid

What team is the Mighty Flynn on right now?

  • 2romes

Guys hear hated the 8-8 and getting better scenario. I not one of them. Reggie,Mark and Allen put some guys where they could be comfortable ,you know a dreamland of sorts.

  • TrevJo

The 2010 offense was pretty good. That OL was better than what we have now. But more than anything, Campbell going down killed that team.

  • DutchRaid

Yeah, Palmer is a bum! I cannot imagine why he wouldn’t want to play for a team that can only spend $60M of a possible $120M cap due to poor management…

  • jumpnjiminy

check back with me in late December…ARI will be 7 – 9…

  • 2romes

Pryor would be a great pocket passer IF he was a great pocket passer.

  • Charlie

    NYC

That 2010 team. What a deal.

β€œIn 2010, Al Davis went all out for his football team in an uncapped year and spent the most money in the
league at over $150 million in player salaries. THAT IS EASILY THE MOST MONEY EVER SPENT ON A TEAM IN THE HISTORY OF THE NFL. One thing we know for sure is
that Al Davis made his own bed here and whether that is good or bad, he must lie in it. At the other end of the spectrum are the Bengals, who have only $83.5 million in commitments for 2012. The Buccaneers, Titans, Redskins, and Broncos also are under $100 million.”
No; WE are lieing in it because Mr. Davis has passed on.
We have $50 million in dead money this year because of that disaster and you want to make a comparison to this team?
    Idiot.

  • Gdog

Cork seems to think DA needs to get to 7 wins to keep his job. I don’t know if this is just his opinion, or some inside info, but I think it sounds reasonable.
He may be able to preserve his job by firing Olson like he did Knapp (in retrospect Knapps offense was MUCH better) but I don’t see DA getting anywhere close to 7 wins unless our QB play suddenly improves.

  • SR Raider

Pryor is not progressing, and based on where he’s at right now that will probably be fatal to his shot at being a starter. Looked like a high school QB yesterday. 80% chance Raiders draft a QB in rd 1

  • DJ Johnny

To be fair, maybe we give Reggie credit for putting together a talented enough team that can easily defeat the Giants.
I just think there is something about a winning culture being infused that matters a lot.
Why does home field matter in football? It’s still 11 on 11 right?
There is that intangible of the home crowd “inspiring” the home team that is one of the most “real” statistics there is. It’s not a “myth”.
Same with having a coach that can infuse a “winning attitude” into his team.
He doesn’t have to be “rah rah” or angry.

  • jumpnjiminy

    Green Bay

  • DutchRaid

True…but at least he isn’t being paid a Matt Ryan type salary…cannot tell me that TP has more talent around him than Matt Ryan does.

  • Gdog

CP would not have overlooked a wide open WR on the same side of the field he was rolling (holmes). Not in a million years.

We lost 3 winnable games now because of QBing (Indy, Wash, NYG) which would put us at 6-3 and steering right at a wild card.

It was a BLUNDER to not do everything possible to keep CP happy and on board. To pretend otherwise is disingenuous.
Plus it would have given Pryor another year to learn under CP.
It was a blunder, and Reggie and DA might lose their jobs because of it…

  • DutchRaid

Does seem like some of the new stadiums crowd noise can give a team an advantage…Seattle?

  • TrevJo

On the fumble he had a nice pocket, plenty of room to step up, but he is still 6 yards deep when the DE comes around, that’s too easy for a pass rusher 1 on 1

  • TrevJo

Who cares about Flynn? Let’s talk McGloin

  • Sir Raider Duck, OMS

    No he isn’t.

  • Sir Raider Duck, OMS

And you know this “FACT” how, exactly?

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

    That’s what I’m saying.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

    Tick, tick, tick..

  • Gdog

Irrelevant… we would easily be 5-4 right now with CP (even MEDIOCRE QBing would have beat Wash and NYG)

Still right in the playoff hunt.
    Wouldn’t that be FUN?

  • prometheus

McGloin the UDFA.. don’t expect much from him. might be able to complete an NFL pass once in a while though. still a loser here IMO

  • 2romes

There has to be a structural offensive philosophy for a rookie QB to fit this team. We did not have a Reggie Wayne, Megatron, or productive runner. The Raider will then solely rely on green QB with no other source of help. That would be a recipe for disaster Raider style.

  • fingersrdrs

Since the 2nd half of the KC game Pryors progress had stopped ….. Up until then id thought we might have our qb
More than Likely Allen will keep him behind center till week 14… But id be fine just seeing what McGloin has….

  • GhostToThePost

    Said it in August.
    Proved to be true.
The Raiders qb of the future is not on the roster, and is currently playing Saturday games.
Would have liked to have been proven wrong.

  • Al_is_theraiders

exactly gdog…pisspoor management he was flynnotized….

  • prometheus

even in in Flynns 1 game here he showed more than Pryor has. even threw a TD pass. WOW Pryor hasn’t done that in 4 games? wow

  • GhostToThePost

Priest? stop with the weak radio calls. How many times are you going to call 95.7 and blame everyone except Pryor?
Now you’re reduced to saying this should be expected, and that he should be given another year?
    You’re playing the fool.
Hey, at least it wasn’t as bad as Rob the Slob, where they laughed at him before cutting him off.
You they just cut off and followed up with Pryor is looking worse as the season goes by.

  • Sir Raider Duck, OMS

Flynn threw two touchdowns, actually. Too bad one of them was to the wrong team. I’m not saying Pryor is the answer at QB (as his 15 minutes are at the 14 minute, 40 second point right now), but Flynn was just awful.

  • DJ Johnny

I think it’s games like yesterday that get looked at when grading a HC. I’m sure Mark saw the same thing we all did; a game that SHOULD HAVE BEEN WON.
It’s one thing to lose cuz you are grossly overmatched talent wise, but that was not the case yesterday.
It’s one thing to have any playoff hopes slam shut by a superior team, but to have them end to a team that you can easily say you are better than in a game you had to actually try hard NOT to win?

I’m sure games like this will be considered in the overall evaluation of DA..

  • DutchRaid

Do you think it all boiled down to Flynn’s Shoulder? Might have to hang it up?

  • Sir Raider Duck, OMS

Shrug. If Flynn gets picked up by GB, then he gets picked up. I’m not losing any sleep over it.

  • Gdog

He’s still responsible for turning his offense over to a guy with such a weak resume.

The playbook may be ok, but Olson’s play calling is at times beyond horrible and insipid.
Considering Knapps playcalling was conservative and insipid also, I am prone to believing it is by design from DA.
