    Johnny Football anyone

  • ENGLANDRAIDER

    R.I.P.
    Todd Christianson.
    A great Raider.

  • Raider O

    Wow, even Alex gets it.

  • HELLSBELLS

So are you done with Pryor, or do you think we can still build around him?

  • alex7

    I have my moments.

  • Que

    Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • ENGLANDRAIDER

    R.I.P.
    Todd Christensen.
    A great Raider.

  • Raider O

We need to build around the QB POSITION, I like to see what he can do with better talent around him, but I’m not as sold on the kid. Not done, but I will be soon if he continues to play like he did against the Giants and KC.

  • http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnnie_Lee_Higgins RaiderRockstar

when do the Raiders have to make a decision on Miles Burris?

  • ENGLANDRAIDER

Those hands caught a lot of passes.

  • fingersrdrs

Thats a cool Video tribute to Todd… Nice watching all those plays against all the Afc west teams…. And i also noticed Todd did no Silly dance after scoring TD’s…. Todays players
    Are soft… R.I.P Todd… You are remembered…
    Go Raiders …

  • Raider O

You do. Too bad we can’t get you to stop bashing the young QB in 99.9% of your posts.

  • ENGLANDRAIDER

    That is damn good news.

  • alex7

    57. So dang young. Yet older than the dying age of the average human being in the history of mankind.

Enjoy your life. Love your family. Be a good husband and dad.

    We’re all leaving soon.

  • ENGLANDRAIDER

Catching touchdown passes was routine for him.

  • Sir Raider Duck, OMS

I believe next Monday or Tuesday is the “fish or cut bait” date.

  • fingersrdrs

    True….

  • Sir Raider Duck, OMS

Hopefully, this means exactly one (1) more game of Khalif Barnes at LT.

  • ENGLANDRAIDER

Christensen had quite an ego but that was OK because he was quite a talent also.

  • http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnnie_Lee_Higgins RaiderRockstar

    injured reserve, you suspect?

  • ENGLANDRAIDER

Barnes had a bad game the last time but he has done fairly well at LT. Essentially, that’s his position, not RT.

  • ENGLANDRAIDER

Flores is probably feeling mortal with this news but Christensen wasn’t that old at 57.

  • Sir Raider Duck, OMS

If he’s not even practicing this week? Probably.

  • SaintKaufman

    Absolutely.

  • http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnnie_Lee_Higgins RaiderRockstar

    did he miss practice today!?!?

  • Sir Raider Duck, OMS

After Velds get back, I’m assuming Barnes will kick inside to LG where his pass-blocking issues won’t be as noticeable. Pashos and McCants seem to have RT nailed down between them.

  • ENGLANDRAIDER

    Steve Corkran‏@CorkOnTheNFL10m

#Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie and TE Todd Christensen were teammates from 1985-88 when the Raiders played in Los Angeles.

  • HELLSBELLS

Ageed, starting to really like Johnny Football but i doubt he will last that long.

  • Sir Raider Duck, OMS

My bad. I got him and Maiava mixed up.

  • http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnnie_Lee_Higgins RaiderRockstar

hopefully Reggie makes a statement.. not just empty words, but with a win on Sunday

  • no mas diamante

The niners have three but it’s not helping them much at the moment.

  • Charlie

    Sure Raider O and Alex.
Those dominant QB’s look so good in the hospital or running for their life with two cracked ribs looking out thier earhole.
Eli/Ben. Good QB’s. Same coaches. Good recievers.
Defenses are weaker and the Olines are bad. Result.3-6.
I have stressed GOOD line play on BOTH SIDES OF THE BALL. Football is a TEAM game BIGGER THAN ONE PLAYER.
2008 Patriots. Lose Brady IN THE FIRST GAME. Plug in Cassell and go 10-5.
Why??? Good team. NOT DEPENDENT ON ONE GUY.
The Raiders have not had GOOD LINE PLAY since 2002.
    Truth.

  • http://Raiders.com/ Dan78

Great story KK…. Any other Raider you’ve come in contact with….. Good to hear stories from fans meeting Players….

  • Raider O

I’m not a big fan of him, but I doubt he is going to get drafted in the top 10. I can see Bridgewater, Mariota, and Hundley in the top 10.

  • http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnnie_Lee_Higgins RaiderRockstar

we beat the Texans for Al. Can we beat them again for Todd? Attn: Tarver – 10 men on the field, Woodson makes the game winning play

  • ENGLANDRAIDER

    Jerry McDonald‏@Jerrymcd42m

RB Darren McFadden, CB D.J. Hayden were working with training staff before going back inside once practice began.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Even if McFadden were to play, Jennings should get the ball plenty. As far as I can see, McFadden is expendable indeed.

  • http://Raiders.com/ Dan78

    Gamma Rays…. Thus the Hulk…..

  • http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnnie_Lee_Higgins RaiderRockstar

Matt Cassel took KC to the playoffs too. had a Pro Bowl season there, actually. Bummer we wasted money & picks on Flynn instead

  • SnBG

Manning and Big Ben did overcome line problems but they are the exception. They both had great D also. The saints had the 11th best pass blocking line in their SB year and the Pack had the 3rd best pass blocking line in their SB year. So an Oline is very important as Big Ben and Manning are seeing this year.

  • fingersrdrs

Ive seen enough of McFadden….. Wish him well somewhere else..give the Rock to Jennings

  • SnBG

Folks, because so many folks say we don’t need an O line and use the Pack,Steelers,Giants and Saints as examples let me say this.

  • Sir Raider Duck, OMS

And I see our new practice squad OLB Chris McCoy is wearing #96. Always weird when a longtime Raider stalwart like Stryker Sulak has his number taken a few years later by someone else.

  • Sir Raider Duck, OMS

    New post.

  • SnBG

PFF says the Browns are on the rise and very talented and all they need is a good QB

  • SnBG

The Niners have lost their receiving corps to injury. Now they are starting to get them back and they should improve. Davis also went down and that hurts also. That line got them to the SB last year.

  • SnBG

    PFF
Success at the quarterback position in the NFL is not only predicated on the individual success of a signal-caller, but it is predicated on the success of his supporting cast. Whether that is his backfield, wide receiving corp. or offensive line, everyone has a hand in the accomplishments of a team’s offense.

Moreover, the same can be said about a team’s offensive failures. On any given play, there could be an individual who misses a blocking assignment, fumbles the football, drops a pass or simply runs the wrong route. All of these misfortunes directly or indirectly affect the quarterback.

However, no offensive position affects a quarterback’s play more then the offensive line. Over the course of a game, offensive linemen are asked to keep the quarterback upright by giving him adequate time to throw the ball.

When given adequate time to throw the ball, quarterbacks have a higher probability of finding the open receiver. This, in turn, leads to more passing yards, completions, touchdowns and overall offensive success.

  • Raider O

Manning had a great defense? So what was dungy complaining about? Their HC called them SOFT.
    WTF are you talking about?

  • Charlie

    SnB
    Well said.
Wonder what Raider O and Alex have to say about those Hall of Fame QB’s in Tampa Bay 2002 and the Ravens in 2000?
I also used the example of 2008 Patriots when Brady missed the year.
The above video shows you how an Oline is supposed to block in the passing game. The run game is available on you tube Raider highlights.
Too many so called Raider fans do not even know our history.
If they did they would undersyand how a dominant Oline can take an average armed Stabler or a beat up/cast off Plunkett and make them Super Bowl winners.

  • SnBG

The Giants 07 offensive line was considered to be one of the best in the league.

2007 Offensive Line: Left Tackle — David Diehl; Left Guard — Rich Seubert; Center –Shaun O’Hara; Right Guard — Chris Snee; Right Tackle — Kareem McKenzie
