End 3rd qtr: Raiders 28, Texans 17

Matt McGloin’s third touchdown pass of the game, a 26-yard strike to Mychal Rivera at the post, put the Raiders up 21-17, and Rashad Jennings ran 80 yards for a touchdown with 2:26 left in the quarter.

McGloin had completions of 36 (Rod Streater), 20 (Marcel Reece) and the final 26 (Rivera) for the score.

Houston replaced starter Case Keenum with Matt Schaub on the Texans’ final possession of the quarter but failed to convert a third down conversion because of a false start.

We met our new RB last week.

Did we meet our new QB this week?

  • Michael

If we didn’t consider me officially on the fire DA bandwaggon

  • lefty12

He was on the field somewhere.

  • Try Some Reality

Lol at Al Michaels praising the Denver offensive line. Umm, the QB might have a little something to do with it.

Suprising from him too, considering he’s Peyton’s personal jock cleaner.

  • RaiderGuy50

I’m w you and Jeff trplett’s crew does its best job to screw us too every chance they get– I often wonder if we get the lower graded ref’s just because of the years of losing-
    Hopefully that will change soon

  • lefty12

Cuz he isn’t a egotistical jerk like the guy he was talking about.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

I’ve never seen a smart azz here!

  • DJ Johnny

Wow. Is it that devastating to lose to the Raiders? Big story on my MSN page about Schaub and Johnson arguing and then I see another story on Ben Tate ripping on the Texan fans.

    NEW POST

  • Michael

I think its more about losing 8 in a row when the players came into the season thinking they had a shot at the super bowl

  • lefty12

Does it really make any difference what crew we get?

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

That would make sense. You’re sending a better crew to Denver than Houston.

  • 0ak R8rs

Only 2 hits on manning. We did better than that. Pretty sure we had two sacks.

  • https://twitter.com/MimiPeepeechimi Just Fire Baby

That was the call though, unnecessary roughness away from the play.
Probably peelbacked somehow on the other side of the field.

  • DJ Johnny

Guess so. Maybe they had delusions they would somehow come back from 2-7 to make the playoffs.

  • RaiderGuy50

On the replay of the catch- the elbow lands in bounds and the ball shifts around on holmes’ chest when his back hits the ground so its not conclusive enough to over turn it. You have to demonstrate control through the entire catch.
However, it was vague whether they ruled it OOB or incomplete-

  • Bruce

WOW thanks Steve what great insight! Now instead of any early season read on the Wild Card spot why don’t you evaluate the teams performance and Mcgloins superior playing to TP.

  • disqus_yeZNegncsV

changed his tune, though after he listened to the raider payers interviewed and after he heard the mcgloin presser.

  • 0ak R8rs

Good point. Probably will get better refs w better performances.

  • Bruce

You are so wrong. TP has athleticism but not a franchise QB. McGloin has the composure, accuracy, quick release, decision making etc.

  • Blackholepriest

Now that I have seen the game, and know we won. The best thing I can say is This defense is outstanding. They gave us two short fields making it so the young confidence would go up if nothing else. We were very average offensively. I still feel very positive about McG. Eventhough he drove the field only one time all game. He made great throws in the redzone.

  • Blackholepriest

We just need to get much better in the passing game. It still lacked rhythm and pace. But we won which is all that matters onward and upward…….period

  • Shameful Metaphors

I was re-posting, sorry not hatin’

  • Bigmike34

Blackhole….We did get much better with the passing game this week….and McGloin was a huge step in the right Direction…He is a QB that can pass
Accurately …Gee what a novel thought….Pryor is what he is and will never be a Franchise QB…McGloin needs to be groomed the rest of this year so
we can have a pretty good idea of what he can do…..I Personally think he is the Future…..I also think Pryor has a Bright future as a Receiver..and he needs to be groomed for that position.

Can we talk about how great the OL played!!! Did anyone see the pocket protection against the number 1 lineman in the NFL!!!
