Bo knows fire, too, it appears

Former Raiders running back Bo Jackson is going to light the Al Davis ceremonial torch before Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans at the Coliseum.
Jackson hasn’t spent much time around the Raiders since he retired after the 1990 season. He is the latest in a long line of big-name Raiders players and coaches from the past invited back by owner Mark Davis.
He played for the Raiders from 1987-90 and averaged 5.4 yards rushing before a hip injury ended his career. Jackson also played baseball for the Kansas City Royals before he moved on from the public eye.

    Game. Blouses.

  • SilverNBlackPA

I looked this up yesterday but didn’t feel like posting it since I’m not really certain anything would change his mind ever.

  • SilverNBlackPA

The Raiders had quite the run of centers didn’t they? Otto to Dalby to Mosebar.

  • SilverNBlackPA

Also, Raider Image is FINALLY selling Otto jerseys and the wife has been informed that I’d really like to see Santa show up with one.

    lol

  • Chino
  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

They checked in and just didn’t check out. Ridiculous run, actually.

    Agree on Houston and Manziel.
It would be like a Tebow phenomenon there. #1 jersey seller.

Who was the jack azz that posted a shirtless “Selfie” in here?
That was a lowpoint for the blog.

  • SilverNBlackPA

Makes me wonder if a team has ever had a similar run of 3 straight dominating players at a single position

  • Papertiger

Eh, it’s better than swell, tubular, or groovy, all of which would have been words of the year back in the day. Besides, morph, metrosexual, and hashtag are all serviceable, and that’s just from the past decade.

  • AutumnThunderstorm

I would agree. I do think it depends on the progression of both Pryor and McGloin though.
If there are 4 or more top qbs available when our selection comes up, I expect us to trade back.

  • J Hill

I’m going to wait and see how Holmes, Moore, Streater, and Criner all look with 14 before I jump back on the WR bandwagon.

BPA around 18 might be an OG named Yankey.

Just for fun, who is the fastest DB in the draft?

  • Papertiger

Dan Dierdorf will retire from broadcasting after this season.

    THANK GOD!

  • Charlie

    RR
Along with Mosebar and Lawrence on the Oline as first rounders we had Pickel and Long as second rounders on the Dline in 1983.
We also had picked up third rounder guard Charley Hannah in a trade.
Funny. In 1983 our first two picks were Oline in the first and Dline in the second and we won the Super Bowl.
    Go Raiders!

  • hwnrdr

Now only if Al Michaels and Collinsworth could follow suit!

  • https://twitter.com/MimiPeepeechimi Just Fire Baby

I like Collinsworth, lol. Funny and not afraid to criticize the refs or teams or whatever.

  • J Hill

You have Branch getting cut, eh?

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

10 years from now, maybe Favre, Rodgers, Flynn.
    Hah!

  • https://twitter.com/MimiPeepeechimi Just Fire Baby

Wonder what the dead cap hit would be…….

  • Papertiger

I will never forgive Michaels for completely ignoring Al’s death. What a classless gasbag.

Collinsworth…eh, I could take him or leave him.

  • Davy Jones

Another pillar of the worst ever MNF lineup falls. Take the hint, Al “King of the Raider Haters” Michaels.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

I’m with ya. But Al can go.

Michael Rivera says McGLOIN is Starting

  • Papertiger

Yeah, McGloin has a set of brass ones for sure.

Flynn, on the other hand, has a camel toe.

  • SilverNBlackPA

Does he have any updates on General Franco’s health? ;)

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

Branch is staying. Reggie knew what he was doing. You guys are nuts.

  • rifflicks

Bob Trumpe used to not even hide his hatred for the Raiders….arguably one of the worst

  • rifflicks

No….but he said he’s still dead

  • J Hill

The dude is a corner who couldn’t play corner in the NFL so we moved him to S where he STILL has coverage issues.

He is the Terrell Pryor of our secondary! Still learning on the job.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

The poetry guy. Oh, Dorian ??? Grey. Only remember ‘cuz I’m an Oscar Wilde fan.

  • Papertiger

Does he at least know where Lorca is buried?

  • DJ Johnny

Cool. I’ve seen Pryor and things he can do and I saw McGloin and as a fan who prefers we win games and also enjoys nice 26 yard lazers for TD’s I am looking much more forward to seeing McGloin again on Sunday.
The NFL is brutal. You don’t win games you lose your gig.

  • rifflicks

no but there’s a definite correlation to neo-natal alcohol abuse and her facial features

  • https://twitter.com/MimiPeepeechimi Just Fire Baby

    Trumpe and Enberg
    The worst tandem for sure.
    Bring back Paul McGuire!!!

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

Surrounded by the likes of Routt,Gio, McClain, Huff, C’mon! He was trying to make up for a lot of mediocracy and worse out there. You would’ve seen it this year with talent around him. You will next year.

  • https://twitter.com/MimiPeepeechimi Just Fire Baby

Ah yes, his R Kelly poetry tunes

  • rifflicks

    in MissTick’s rear end?

OutKast is reuniting for Coachella. Man, the good news just keeps coming!

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

He took the hint and left. Pity that’s not more common.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

I thought he rose from the dead once just to prove he could do it.

  • SilverNBlackPA

Man, Trent Murphy is a straight animal. He’s playing his way out of the Raiders reach though if they end up somewhere in the 12 -16 range.

  • 10centsworth

I knew Al when he was broadcasting the Hawaii Islanders, back in the 60s.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

Coachella? We talking Indio and environs?

  • https://twitter.com/MimiPeepeechimi Just Fire Baby

Our buddy Tafur says it is a done deal. He was the one tweeting before the kickoff about locker room sentiment on the side of McGloin moving forward.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

Did he always hate Al? Or get snubbed somewhere along the line? Never knew the backstory to that.

  • https://twitter.com/MimiPeepeechimi Just Fire Baby

“Pryor started eight games, ran for 504 yards and showed improvement in his passing mechanics. But not enough to convince the coaching staff or general manager Reggie McKenzie that he is their quarterback of the future. They’re actually leaning the other way pretty solidly.”

  • rifflicks

    flawless cut and paste….congradulations
