Bo knows fire, too, it appears

Former Raiders running back Bo Jackson is going to light the Al Davis ceremonial torch before Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans at the Coliseum.
Jackson hasn’t spent much time around the Raiders since he retired after the 1990 season. He is the latest in a long line of big-name Raiders players and coaches from the past invited back by owner Mark Davis.
He played for the Raiders from 1987-90 and averaged 5.4 yards rushing before a hip injury ended his career. Jackson also played baseball for the Kansas City Royals before he moved on from the public eye.

Newton and Kaepernick. Both have been up and down.” – Cork

even if I started it? Awwww. BFF’s please?

  • rifflicks

    Self employed

  • alex7

I like that Davy has that saved on his “Pryor WILL BE GOOD, DANGIT!” Windows folder.

  • rifflicks

a secondary beat reporter….can’t beat that for a knowledgeable source

  • RelentlessIV

i thought the guys in the locker room called him that first? Thanks for giving them the heads up first.

  • RelentlessIV

Polian was let go by a drunk owner.

  • alex7

they read my ish in here. They know where to find the good info =)

  • alex7

    sweet.

  • alex7

Jace Amero, huge WR from Texas Tech, likely declaring for draft. Will be an NFL TE.

If, if, if McGloin is legit, and Mike Evans is already gone, I can see Reggie taking Amero. Huge TE target, gives us some double TE set flexibility ala the Patriots last year, and Amero, unlike Rivera (who is a + receiver) can block.

    Thoughts?

  • Davy Jones

Actually, I just Googled “Bill Polian Terrelle Pryor”. No folder necessary, it was easier than than beating Flynn out of a starting job. 😉

  • alex7

didn’t they make the playoffs the very next year?

  • Chino

Other qbs throw to their receivers whom they had built chemistry through the season. Pryor threw to Ocho cinco and a friend of his. Stop the hating. It makes you sound like an angry ex girlfriend.

  • Davy Jones

Please. Polian is a 2X exec of the year. If MD fired RM and hired Polian, you’d do a happy dance. And so would I.

  • R8derdiehard

You jerk it in the mirror, I’m sure of it.

  • Davy Jones

Only if you make me a friendship bracelet from your ball of Matt Flynn’s hair. And if you look back, you’ll see numerous posts where I say I have no problem with McGloin starting . . .

  • alex7

    Davy

please don’t quote Cork as an expert.

“It takes time, look at Cam and Kaepernick.”

Sigh. Kaep made the Super Bowl and came out slinging TDs left and right as soon as he started.

Cam set NFL rookie records right out the gate, and had one of the best rookie QB seasons ever.

Ehhh, no comparison to our guy. Other than…fast and similar melanin, no idea why we’d compare those three.

  • Just Win Baby

I bet neither Terrelle Pryor nor Matt McGloin will be the starting qb on this team next year. If it is either, it will be McGloin. Simply because he hasn’t proven himself to be completely inept at throwing the ball yet. It’s easy to beat Pryor. Load the box and make him throw the ball. Game over.

  • rifflicks

Prior QB didn’t have any choice …he was banned from Ohio State

  • alex7

from his Oakland stash that I cut off, or his new GB hair?

  • R8derdiehard

Your just one of the idiot Pryor brigaders?!?!?

  • alex7

the GB hair is less mistreated.

  • alex7

gross. inappropriate. juvenile. spooky if you spy.

  • Davy Jones

And what are you? A tertiary blog poster?

  • alex7

so now that he’s developed chemistry with his current WRs…

no that’s not the real excuse either. dang. gotta keep searching.

  • R8derdiehard

But is equally a noodle armed mediocre qb…..hairball

  • Davy Jones

    . . .but caught in a clipboard.

  • rifflicks

I bet in open Competition McGloin wins the job hands down.
If McGloin gets to start the rest of the games I bet you they won’t draft a QB in the early rounds

  • alex7

we’re in a kinda solid situation.

If we don’t draft a QB, it’s because we’re drafting in the teens after McGloin proves himself and wins a few more games, or at least plays well enough to make drafting a QB a moot point.

If McGloin struggles, we’re drafting top-8 because the Steelers, Bills, and Giants are hot and passing us up.

  • R8derdiehard

Just an observation that your completely full of yourself.

  • alex7

who your boy still can’t outproduce. Sad.

  • rifflicks

we see what you’re full of…it’s dripping down your chin

  • MEX_GHOST

The Raiders will do the Niners “opposite move” after the “injury return”, sending to the field the traditional QB and benching the mobile one.

  • Davy Jones

Ever hear the joke about the two guys running from the bear and the one stops to put on track shoes and the other says “you can’t outrun a bear”, and the first guy says, ‘I don’t have to outrun a bear, I have to outrun YOU.” Cork may or may not be an expert, but cordially, he’s more of an expert than you.

  • Davy Jones

Not like an actual expert like Bill Polian made a difference anyway.

  • Chino

Who’s making excuses? That’s the truth. Look he’s obviously the back up now so let it rest.just Hope he improves in case mcgloin gets Hurt and we have to deal with happy feet again.

  • alex7

I’d venture to say I’ve had a paying sports gig at least as long as he’s had.

  • Davy Jones

    Do tell.

  • R8derdiehard

I can’t hear you take my sausage out of your mouth. By the way I think it’s really sweet and kind of cute the way you stick up for him! Awwwwwe☺️

  • rifflicks

Look at the brain in Riiflicks lol

  • Davy Jones

    New nickname?

  • rifflicks

as they should if they want to WIN

  • R8derdiehard

Who mcgloin or Pryor? Cause there both my guy right now cause I’m a raider fan and both have the potential to help this team , so I’m confused

  • the gayblade dr robert

    Haven’t posted as much today.
    Feel so un-manly.

  • alex7

awww, this will be fun. You’ll say I’m making it up, of course, but will still be fun.

    at least you admit it

I was able to attend the East/West shrine bowl in Palo Alto when 1st round bust USC WR RJ Soward dropped a long pass.

Speed, but nothing else. I learned my scouting lesson that day.
