Bo knows fire, too, it appears

Share

Former Raiders running back Bo Jackson is going to light the Al Davis ceremonial torch before Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans at the Coliseum.
Jackson hasn’t spent much time around the Raiders since he retired after the 1990 season. He is the latest in a long line of big-name Raiders players and coaches from the past invited back by owner Mark Davis.
He played for the Raiders from 1987-90 and averaged 5.4 yards rushing before a hip injury ended his career. Jackson also played baseball for the Kansas City Royals before he moved on from the public eye.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

    Tucumcari? Smaller?

  • Jim Jesus

10-4 on that. Could always go into a rant on jury nullification and victimless crimes and throw in some prison overcrowding for good measure. Probably would not help JFB peddle his wares though.

  • 4 corners region of Colorado

  • PlunkforHOF

I guess neither would getting all coked up from the evidence room and popping off a few rounds from the SWAT team’s sniper rifles.

  • rifflicks

If Allen has been preaching and practicing open competition, and that he will start the players that give the Raiders the best chance to win,…. what will be the reaction of the team, who had nothing but praise after the Texans game for McLovin be ….if he chooses to start Pryor over McGloin to play Tennessee ????

  • Awesome!!!

  • Jim Jesus

Excellent question. We may not know the answer to this for a long time.

  • When can’t I take a joke? I would think that is firmly established.

I guess it would depend on injuries, their severity, and prognosis for healing.

  • I bet she doesn’t have 50 outfits though does she?

  • Peter King giving Matt some McLove

Matt McGloin, quarterback, Oakland. How insane is football? McGloin was camp fodder, the fourth passer in camp for the Raiders, after not being drafted last April. On Sunday, he started an NFL game for Oakland, completed 18 of 32 passes for 197 yards, with three touchdowns and no interceptions, as Oakland stunned Houston 28-23. Just watch him, and you see why he might have a chance to stick in the league. He’s confident, throws a good ball and looks like he has a chance to be accurate downfield.

  • rifflicks

a chance to be accurate downfield….didn’t he see that throw to Holmes the refs blew the call on?

  • c2e

Where’s the greatest opportunity for an upgrade? WR/TE?

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

That sliver and black Raider llama I posted the picture of took grand on that trip in ’99. Only 2 years old. Best of all ages in light wool catagory. Males, obviously.

  • rifflicks

Give McGloin another start and the weak links in the receiving corps will show themselves

  • c2e

I liked the toss to Rivera. Thing of beauty.

  • Obviously

  • rifflicks

3000 yards at Penn State…not exactly a school known for turning out NFL receivers

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

I meant in addition to wool catagories, males and females don’t compete against each other. Jedidiah being a male.

  • the legendary dr robert

A chance to stick in the league?

    There’s no question of that.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

He likes to wear my dirty socks and t-shirts.

  • Here it is, for your viewing pleasure. On a 1st and 20. Funny how you don’t remember those and call out the refs for conspiracies when you simply make a play?

do you have the one he threw to Butler in the preseason??? it might even be a sweeter play than that.

  • Josh Dubow ‏@JoshDubowAP 18 Nov

Per STATS: McGloin 3-5 95 yards on passes 21+ yds in air. Pryor 1-6 23 yards pvs 4 games on deep throws #Raiders

  • Josh Dubow ‏@JoshDubowAP 18 Nov

Per @PFF, Pryor averaged NFL high 3.47 seconds before pass, sack or scramble. McGloin is 2.44 is more than only 3 starters #Raiders

  • KoolKell

The ball definitely came out on time.

As pointed out by Papa yesterday, there were no delays of game and the young man got them in and out of the huddle quickly. Really like his demeanor out there. We got a keeper.
