End 3rd qtr: Titans 13, Raiders 12

Tennessee scored on a 54-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Fitzpatrick to Jason Hunter and the Raiders countered with a 48-yard field goal by Sebastian Janikowski to enter the fourth quarter trailing by a point.

Janikowski also missed from 42 yards, his second miss of the game and seventh of the season. In the 2011 and 2012 seasons, Janikowski was 62 of 69 on field goal attempts.

Fitzpatrick was effing great. Wish we weren’t always in this position.

  • Alex7

top-15 defense. The main reason we’ve won the games we have.

  • EMRaiders

could’ve rushed more, but Fitz was escaping and making plays all day when we did. they played it safe, and that’s what happens.

  • Rico Stifler

Also part of the reason why we lost this one…

  • marks hair

Dallas is going to give us the old banana in the tailpipe..

  • R8derdiehard

Look at the year though how many times have the defense been in that position. Wish we didn’t have to put the game on there hands every week

  • Rifflicks

I Love Watching the CRYBABY Parade…..MORE MORE MORE

  • loyal

8-8,8-8,4-12 and could be 4-12 again. I don’t like that direction. Wins are all that matter.

  • rioderek

    clueless vanilla coaches

  • SlashNHack

How did we get out coached ?

  • Gdog

Because he wasnt perfect? How about Porter covering air at the goal line instead of a WR?

  • Rifflicks

you love that pull up your pants

  • turf toe

Incredible description. Wish I wasn’t so disappointed, though.

  • the authoritative dr robert

Kept getting to fitz but couldn’t finish.

Man do we need a speed rusher.

  • Howard Benner

Please. . .Missing a 32 yard chip shot? And a makeable 48 yarder? The last three years he’s been nails from inside the 50! What a misguided sense of reasoning you have!

  • aig-raiders

    Cant win without talent.

  • Rifflicks

    and at HOME

  • Gdog

    Prevent always works

  • W.J

Totally agree about the pass rusher. But I got a feeling RM will trade down, miss out on all the top talent, pickup up another Wilson at QB and declare his superior drafting skills.

I keep thinking he’s being worked; directed to under performing players. Law of averages say he hits on at least half. He’s missing on at least 80-90%. Way too high for just bad luck.

  • 2romes

The QB was not the problem today. The Raiders are a team that has to hold there opponents at 17 points or less to win most games. There is nothing wrong playing that way. Get the job done!

  • Howard Benner

If I were the Dubai group I would pull the plug on Stadium City. . .

  • rioderek

The team desperately needs a real HC. The boy blunder will never be anything more than what he is.

  • Rifflicks

    Nice comeback drive by McGloin

  • Gdog

Uhh. ALLOWING a team to march down the field for a TD isn’t to blame? Explain why. A FG goes to over time. They choked worse than Jano.

  • Rifflicks

you cant pull the plug in your bath tub

  • Alex7

you’d wait til they were better / more expensive?
    Umm..

  • Gdog

Facetiousness. Tarvers prevent lost two games so far. It lost one last year…

  • Gdog

Three different times, if I counted right. With our clueless morons playing zone??

  • turf toe

    yeah

  • Chino

You rely on your kicker to win games then you should expect this kind of outcome. Eddie Carmona is on speed dial right?

  • Gdog

He is a Plunkett… suck the entire game then put a winning drive together. Too bad our defense and coaching staff let him down. I think he should start one more game…

  • Howard Benner

I appreciate the humor but that won’t kick in until around February. . .so, pontificate about the 2014 college entry draft, anyone?

  • Gdog

The 32 yarder STILL loses the game bubs… and no other team expects a kicker to be perfect from 48 and out…

  • Alex7

    Truths:
    - This was and is a 6 or 7 win roster. What are you expecting?
    - Our O couldn’t put up TDs and settled for FGs today. Reggie will fix that in the off-season, like he improved the D already. Not having Moore or a big-play RB hurt today.
    - It’s amazing that we WON 4 games this year while Pryor was throwing 1 TD and 7 INTs during a long stretch of games.
    - The rest of the season is to evaluate McGloin and whether we draft a QB or not 1st round, and eval. Holmes and whether we need a big WR.

  • rioderek

Carmona sux, the other guy was much better

  • 2romes

We are competitive. That is what he promised for the most part a culture change. If you bought into that maybe you should not be complaining. I did not.I had another vision with the coach we had before him.

Now that Allen is here, I say stay the course.

  • Gdog

wow we agree on something. The defense dropped their pants.

  • Michael

People so angry at the d after their goal line stand won the game last week and kept us in the game this week with a lot of goal line stands

  • Howard Benner

What are the options? The first part of the season is to not only see how the outfielders progress but how much the Giants bevy of arms progress. . .and Matt Williamson & Joe Panik. . .& Andrew Susac. . .

So, on one hand you castigate me for thinking outside the box. . .on the other hand you do the same when I try to embrace Giants (mis) management’s logic (or lack thereof). . you can’t have it both ways, Alex. . seems you’re a republican. . Full of ridicule & discourse but offering no solutions. . .get off the fence, Alex. . it must hurt. . .

  • Howard Benner

Here’s you response. . .based on this year’s numbers. . where do you rate Fat Bastard?

Talent was not the major problem today. 3rd down and no clue how to stop the other team was a major problem.

  • 2romes

Mich, the defense is suppose to be strong link weekend and week out. That is what I thought Coach Allen was building. I don’t expect the greatest show on turf from the Raiders. That is just not going to happen. Good teams on defense are not wishy washy.
