Raiders extend Coliseum lease through 2014

By Steve Corkran
Monday, November 25th, 2013 at 12:48 pm in Oakland Raiders.

The Raiders signed a one-year extension on their lease with the Oakland Coliseum on Monday. Doing so ensures that the Raiders will remain in Oakland for at least one more season.
Owner Mark Davis has said that he is committed to keeping the Raiders in Oakland. For that to happen, though, he said he needs a new stadium.
There aren’t any firm plans in the works for a new stadium — Davis’ preference is for a new stadium to be built on the site of the current stadium.
Hence, Davis is keeping open his options and not getting tied up in a long-term agreement in case a better opportunity surfaces.

    Here we stay.

It wasn’t just Tennessee’s final TD that was the killer, it was the 6 minute drive! How does that happen? 6 minute drives are hard to come by in the middle of the second quarter. 6 minutes. Did we play the Saints yesterday? Did we do something different on defense?

Of note, tight end Mychal Rivera and cornerback Mike Jenkins suffered
concussions Sunday against the Tennessee Titans. Also, linebacker Kevin
Burnett left the game with a quadriceps bruise.

Something else to keep an eye on is the health of running back Rashad
Jennings, who appeared to injure his shoulder at some point in the game.

This oughta make it interesting Thursday. Kyle Burnett and Stewart to the rescue?

  • Jayhawk_Raider

Isn’t Dmac supposed to play Thursday? I’d rather have Jennings at RB but at least we aren’t going to third string if Jennings can’t play.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

“Streater started slow Sunday, then gained steam and finished with five
catches for 93 yards despite being covered most of the time by Pro
    Bowl-bound cornerback Alterraun Verner.”

I guess McGloin never heard of him.

Our injuries have been nothing short of a curse. Seems like whenever a player has a good game, down he goes. That’s why I think if Allen can pull off 2 of the last 5, he should stay, and still have his choice of staff.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

Who knows? Maybe Dmac busts out for 225 and 3 TD’s. Maybe Jeremy Stewart plays the whole 2nd half.

  • 10centsworth

DA said Jennings was just a “stinger”. Is fine. Hmmm, maybe.

  • RTF916

If Allen can pull off 3 of the last 5, with this banged up squad, he should get a new contract.

  • R8erEduc8er

    Yes!! More tarp!!!

  • 10centsworth

Will be a curious/hard call if Jennings is fit to go. Wonder who is getting the reps the next two days.

Not one question about Pryor vs McGloin from the reporters at DA’s press conference.

  • RTF916

Somebody at ESPN just said Pryor’s going to be the long term choice for the Raiders. Just heard it. Wasn’t watching the screen. Couldn’t tell who said it.

  • NYCRaider

Janos misses have nothing to do with snaps or protection. There is an issue with Janos head and possibly Kings placement ability. But no excuse for it lasting 11 games. maybe jano should practice more

  • RTF916

The tarps make good business sense. Do you know why the 49ers built a rather modest 70k stadium as opposed to the mega 100k stadium that the Cowboys built, and that they sell out weekly? They know their consumer base. It’s just common sense. Raiders are a small market team whose consumer base has typically been of a lower income class than their competitor in the same region. It just is what it is. The real problem was our previous owner being a bit delusional as to our real consumer base. See: Mount Davis, which is the sports equivalent to the Bridge To Nowhere.

  • NYCRaider

why have reece run wildcat when jennings busted an 80 yd run last week from the wildcat and tp2 available

  • RTF916

Jano has never been reliable when it comes to these routine kicks which are pivotal to the game’s outcome. The fact that he got a new contract is one of the few real question marks to our new management. Jano still has his scholarship. Why?
