Jennings out _ it’s Reece and Taiwan Jones

Rashad Jennings was ruled out of the Raiders game against the Jets Sunday, not having sufficiently recovered from a Thanksgiving Day concussion.

Marcel Reece will be the lead back, with running back-turned-cornerback-turned-running back Taiwan Jones in reserve.

Also out are wide receiver Denarius Moore, running back Darren McFadden, running back Jeremy Stewart, safety Tyvon Branch, guard Lamar Mady and guard Mike Brisiel.

Three practice squad promotions _ cornerback Chance Casey, safety Shelton Johnson and linebacker Marshall McFadden _ are all active and will presumably play on special teams.

Weather is cold and clear, with not much wind at this point.

    No live chat this week?
Okay, we will see TP in his packages today. I hope we see him as wide out on a sideline fly pattern. Throw it up, let him go after it. Maybe our shortage of running backs we’ll force TP to see he might be most helpful in a variety of roles, including wr.

  • 0ak R8rs

You mean like you did when you say Gruden demanded part ownership?

  • c2e

that would be smart if the weather deteriorates

  • disqus_yeZNegncsV

Yeah, I was thinking that as I typed the other post about guys learning to take care of their bodies.

  • 0ak R8rs

Ok. You ask me to clarify something. I can do it. No problem. I ask you? I get more riddles. No problem. Whatever, dude.

  • disqus_yeZNegncsV

I wonder what the last tests of the protocol are that Jennings and others don’t pass.

  • DutchRaid

I wonder how much the actual team on the field represents are 60m salary cap? Considering guys like McFadden, branch and brisel are out, and represent almost half of of the 60m cap?

  • marks hair

I knew Jennings would be out.. cross country flights give you cuncussion like symptoms even if you don’t already have one.

  • 10centsworth

0you certainly don’t mind putting your credibility out there based on your ignorance, do you. Your comments speak to that and really, sonny, I don’t have to “prove” anything to you. skip my comments and go “twit”.0

  • EMRaiders

Alright, GAMETIME! see ya all later…

  • The Big Banana

    “His Raiders”? That’s rich

  • 0ak R8rs

    Going to Texas. Next?

  • 10centsworth

0you want this proof, you go find the site just like you find EVERYTHING you say. Easy, huh. sorry about your vicarious existence, truly am.0

  • Dakota

Lol, I get it now. How

  • HELLSBELLS

Long returns are usually the result of not having to cut.

  • DutchRaid

Interesting to see how Chris Johnson finishes the season? Will he pack it in, so he doesn’t get hurt or try to ball out for an audition for next year?

  • disqus_yeZNegncsV

Think about it regarding injuries: with our O-line and our Rb units, we’ve not just had the occasional guy out, we’ve had whole units out at the same time. Now, that’s bad luck.

  • The Big Banana

Yeah, good point. All 3 of those are grossly overpaid.

  • disqus_yeZNegncsV

They should have had him travel by train on Tuesday. LOL.

  • marks hair

    its not just bad luck.

  • 0ak R8rs

My cred is fine. It’s yours we r talking about now. Don’t get all butt hurt because you make some sort of crazy assertion and can’t back it up. I got no problem w you. But I’ll call you on your bs just like I would expect someone to do the same to me. If I choose to spout it.

  • EMRaiders

no it’s not. I think it has to do with conditioning and lack of good training staff. Along with nutrition.

  • 10centsworth

0then we’re good to go. I don’t “google” and “twit” what I say. and…I don’t make szhit up. take it any way you want.0

  • disqus_yeZNegncsV

Well, in McFadden’s case, I don’t know what it has to do with, but certainly Jennings is not the result of a training staff problem, Stewart neither.

  • KoolKell

    Good Luck Gents and Podunkers

  • Dakota

They show them the movie on golden pond and a video of former raider steve smith and then ask them if they are sure they are ready to play.

  • The_Civilian_James_Trapp

Exactly…some crap player evaluations. An UDFA at every skill position today, and BTW Grimmace has drafted players at every skill position & only Rivera shows anything.

  • marks hair

and some players are just lemons

  • 10centsworth

0we got a cold weather QB. We win.0

  • 0ak R8rs

Ok. Here’s my proof of my assertion. You’re next:

    Waiting?

  • EMRaiders

    this is true.

  • 10centsworth

0for what? you got a point you’re making? I’m not running off anywhere.0

  • EMRaiders

ya… every team has injuries, but to have had as many as we have had every year in the recent past… I don’t know. maybe it is just dumb luck.

  • EMRaiders

    same to you kk.

  • RaidingTexas

Crap. Crossing routes just kill this defense.

  • DJ Johnny

No one is gonna remember how guys “played hard” for DA.
The only thing that matters is winning.
    It’s a hard truth.
From 1967-1984 the Raiders had an incredible stretch of success with division titles almost every year…legendary playoff wins that will last forever in sports lore, 3 Super Bowl wins…ripoff losses in there too, but it was this stretch that still has people referring to the Raiders as a storied franchise.
Noone would’ve cared or remembered if they had merely “played hard” for Madden or Flores…they WON.
It’s nice the guys are playing hard for DA, it really is, but if it doesn’t translate to wins then it matters very little.
    Hopefully it will.

  • kenchun24

Holy awesome snow games today….go Raiders, buck that east coast losing trend today please.

  • HELLSBELLS

Why do we ever play zone?

  • The_Civilian_James_Trapp

You can extend that until 94. Still had playoff appearances & a Division title and that was with Elway & the rebirth of the Chiefs for a decade.

  • DJ Johnny

One thing that has killed this team is the hurry up offense of the opponent.
When they decide to employ it we have been helpless to stop it.
I don’t know how you defend it with our defense as currently constructed.
Maybe that’s one of the glaring spots where the lack of talent becomes really evident.

  • 10centsworth

0perhaps because we got 2nd/3rd string DBs out there? Guys who lack experience/talent to match up, one on one? Just a guess.0

  • HELLSBELLS

Ever time we play zone we get beat know your strengths.

  • DJ Johnny

    Go Raiders. We SHOULD win.

  • 10centsworth

0there are “strengths” if what I said is true? point them out, ok?0

  • HELLSBELLS

Not if you watched that first drive.

  • DJ Johnny

Did he really say “his” Raiders?

  • DJ Johnny

True. Actually the 90′s were a “winning” decade with more winning seasons than losing.
Even our worst decade in history included a SB appearance.
Those 7 years of hell were brutal…

  • HELLSBELLS

    Go Cleveland, draft status only.

  • HELLSBELLS

    Anyone notice 92 starting?

  • DJ Johnny

Please don’t tell me this team didn’t come ready to play today.
I don’t wanna hear “the east coast curse” crap after this is over.
