Mark Davis quotes all via this @timkawakami interview –> http://bitly.com/J6StuY
    ===========
Not much, but there it is.

  • SnBG

    So Mark has spoken.
    Reg and DA will stay.
    That rhymes, btw.

  • SnBG

    Markie has spoken
    Reg and DA will stay.
    That rhymes btw.

  • SnBG

Allen and Reg will stay. Smart move.

  • ENGLANDRAIDER

    Yeah, I know Priest.

Mark didn’t have many GM’s to pick from and he took a chance with McKenzie who has made mistakes as a first year GM.
I think you have to remember the size of the job facing McKenzie.
When it comes to Allen he can only coach the players that he’s given and this club is not full of great football players to say the least.
We need to judge him on how well he’s coached the people he’s been given and for the most part the attitude on the team this year is good and they play hard and -except for that last defensive effort with the Jets- they play hard for the whole game.

Here’s an article from CBS at the end of last year about the interest from some teams in Ray Anderson. I think this guy can write his ticket. I really do think we need someone to get a stadium deal done, though.

  • ENGLANDRAIDER

Wasn’t there talk and rumors about this weeks ago?
You have to hand it to Mark for being smart enough to recognize that he needs a football guy as president to run the club and hire and fire GM’s.

  • http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnnie_Lee_Higgins RaiderRockstar

he’s humble and patient – unlike his dad

  • SnBG

Well it’s looking like Markie will keep Reg and DA. Smart move to do that and smart to talk about it now.

  • RaidingTexas

I thought they talked to Mike Holmgren about being president earlier this year. Details are fuzzy, but I thought that timing was the only reason it didn’t happen. Maybe he’ll be brought in soon?

  • 10centsworth

I bust the ballz of Cork and the other sports writers, but in case there is anyone out there that doesn’t know how 1220 works…read this “interview”. It took the nimrod longer to walk up to the second floor then he got with the “Boss”. And what did you learn? No, Im not kissing Cork’s butt, but he is actually one of the better guys around. I just can’t abide by this “objective’ stance. I feel his CLIENTS want a fan for a reporter that CAN be objective and contribute his honest take. Look at these posts, day after day. Half aren’t objective, they are downright traitors talking. So. Cork. Great year coming up. Be a fan and give us your professional, objective POV. My suggestion…and I don’t know szhit.

  • SnBG

    My vote is a.

  • RaidingTexas

I agree that it would be smart. But what is making it “look like” this? I’ve been out of the loop today. Something stated by Mark?

  • RaiderGuy50

exactly, Mark has intended to follow thru with a plan which appears to be the case after reading Tim’s Kawakami article. It will stop the constant ? about RM and DA for now unless we see 3 straight Jets type games to close out the season.
I think the team is fired up for KC and it will be a close- game – I like our chances at home against KC.

  • RaiderGuy50

phone interview with MD by Kawakami posted on the web site

  • 10centsworth

I think the only “commitment” we got was…Reggie. He said there would be TWO de briefs re the coaches, with the obvious caveat that the last debrief, from Reg to him, left him with the final decision. Also an implication that nothing is written in stone. As it should be.

  • RaiderGuy50

    I vote A too!

  • 10centsworth

I say this thinking give them all another FAgency/draft.

  • plunkhead

Anderson will likely be on the NFL payroll for life. I bet he already has his assignment. I hope his orders are “fix the Raiders”

  • 10centsworth

If it is on the table, I think you are correct. The Raiders have many facets to their “business” world.

  • plunkhead

As much as I dislike the rat he sounded “good” today. If I did not know what a rat he was I would have believed him.

  • turf toe

Is there one NFL team that would consider hiring DA as a head coach or Reggie McKenzie as a GM if they were let go? I doubt it.

  • RaidingTexas

Good. The Gruden circle jerkers can eff off now.

  • SnBG

That’s the mark of a tired team that has no real talented depth. Also could be that DA works them a bit to hard.

  • DutchRaid

In hindsight, do you think a lot of quality people would have wanted to take the job with Reggie’s solution to the Cap nightmare we were facing? Next year? Yes, the last two years, No…

  • SnBG

Markie has re-upped with them. So I would say the Raiders would.

  • Raider O

    LMAO
    Chico!!

  • Raider O

No way ATL passes on Barr.

  • Blackholepriest

First reaction is usual the best one.

  • Raider O

Murray excepted a SR bowl invite, but I think he is injured, or rehabbing an injury. Boys excepted the invite and he will play against THE OSU. Pay attention to Boyd. I’m sold on this kid.

  • SnBG

Cork also said that Gruden said he wasn’t going back into coaching this year. Another idiotic belief shot down.

  • SnBG

Markie is preaching patience to the fans. I’m sure Reg is also. Says to me DA is staying,

  • 1960AutumnWind

Cork also thinks we should keeping picking a QB until we have a franchise QB. He is a beat reporter not an expert on lineman.

  • 10centsworth

take it anyway you want. Do you think Reg “debriefing” the coaches, then Mark Debriefing Reg, re the coaches, has no meaning. No substance? I am on “record” saying give them all a shot next year, I see a nucleus formed and I’m DELIGHTED going into FA/draft. If you don’t think between owner/gm there isn’t gonna be…”what are our options”, I think you are mistaken. Mark wants to be briefed and part of that is…is Reggie representing HIS interests.

  • SnBG

Reg here fans,,,,,sorry to tell you that I’m sticking around and my boy DA will also. Peace to you all. More later

  • Sir Raider Duck, OMS

No, but they would be in demand as a DC and Personnel guy, respectively. Their results the first two years haven’t been great, but as Mark said, the deconstruction is done. Now it’s time for the reconstruction.

  • 1960AutumnWind

It is very possible we have Wiz at center for the lack of viable options otherwise at this point.

  • Sir Raider Duck, OMS

Nothing wrong with Anderson coming in. He’s a respected NFL guy with connections all over the place. He’d also provide an excellent sounding board for Reggie.

  • The_Civilian_James_Trapp

Except he didn’t say either way

  • rudegruden

Cork lost me when he kept backing up Chucky B

  • Blackholepriest

You’d be shocked how many coaches would jump at coaching at this level.

  • The_Civilian_James_Trapp

This coming from the same class valedictorians who say Hue Jackson should have been fired for not getting the team into the playoffs year 1

  • rudegruden

    C. The league adjusted and watched film on our schemes. The league adjusted, we didn’t.

  • SnBG

Listen to our fearless leader. Be patient and please don’t come off the sidelines and hit anybody.

  • SnBG

Thank god the FDA is reducing antibiotics in beef, poltry and pork.

  • seymour bush

No one would be shocked by that. What is shocking is how many fail at this level.

  • rudegruden

mumble mumble mumble..patience…mumble mumble mumble…next year…mumble mumble mumble

  • Blackholepriest

    Doesn’t mean he’s stupid

  • The_Civilian_James_Trapp

Yeah the former coke head is our fearless leader. I was right to kick Tyrone Braxton’s for late hitting Tim Brown

  • The_Civilian_James_Trapp

Smart GM’s can navigate through that, plus they build up the talent base
