I think he’s getting 3 mil this year in Seattle. Sure the Raiders would have to overpay to get him away from a Super Bowl ready team though.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

    This crap format working yet?

  • Rico Stifler

If I had to choose between him and say Michael Bennett in terms of paying a contract similar to what Desmond Bryant got (5 years, 34M), I’d give it to Bennett….

  • jumpnjiminy

You gotta be kidding…someone out there really thinks Rivers is great? Must be pretty ‘loose’ in your definition of that word!

  • Rico Stifler

He is getting 4.8M in Seattle. He’d probably want in the 6-7M a year range in FA.

  • Back-N-Black

WRs Eric Decker and Hakeem Nicks also top my wish list. Not sure the Raiders could get both, but 1 of these guys would be a huge upgrade.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

I’m picturing Jmac, Cork, Becker and Cestrella deciding on the Disqus platform. There’s a brain trust for you to contemplate.

  • Rico Stifler

I’d prefer Decker as he doesn’t have the injury history that Nicks has and I’d also want to get Maclin for cheap if possible.

  • seymour bush

I have always been a big Michael Bennett fan.

  • Rico Stifler

I wanted to sign him this year, but he is making more in Seattle than any FA we signed this year.

  • Back-N-Black

wow… Decker and Maclin!! that would be freakin’ awesome!

  • Rico Stifler

I don’t think Maclin will be able to command a big contract cuz of his injury history and cuz he is coming off a missed season with an ACL injury…

Also, with him never getting a chance to really play for a new coaching staff, they could likely opt to not re-sign him.

I’d give Maclin a nice incentive based contract with a low salary and an injury clause.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

    Half and half.

  • jumpnjiminy

Actually, I noticed where you were going through the comments and down voting all of Alex’s…sorta sick of you and then I got caught in the crossfire!

  • seymour bush

I’m picturing this entire website going through Jerry’s 1998 IBM Thinkpad.

  • rifflicks

I don’t think Houston is going anywhere….his agent is rightfully telling him to see what he’s worth to other teams and let McKenzie have the option to match it.

  • Rico Stifler

I don’t think RM will pay a lot for Houston. he is a very solid LDE, but that is it. Good at setting the edge in Run D, but a very average pass rusher. If he wants like 6-7M a year, then I’d rather sign Bennett for that cost…

  • rifflicks

the market will show him what he’s worth…if McKenzie don’t want him, then he takes a better offer…but to be fair …Houston hasn’t had much help on the line and sees a lot of double teams, and this is also his first year at DE

  • Rico Stifler

No, he has always been a DE, but he switched to RDE this year.

  • rifflicks

    oops forgot the “R”

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

    I’m not here, am I?

  • SnBG

In the NFL they pay DEs by how well the sack the QB. Phiiips and Abraham, both older that Houston, have more sacks than he does. He’ll find out what he’s worth.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

Is this thing live? I’d ignore me too, but this is ridiculous.

  • Rico Stifler

    lol

  • 0ak R8rs

    Eat sht. Better?

  • Rico Stifler

I think he is worth closer to what Wheeler got from Miami versus what Bryant got from the Browns…..

  • 0ak R8rs

Yea. And didn’t set the edge very well last week either. Not hating on the guy. But this hasn’t been his best month.

  • rifflicks

It’s fair for Houston and the Raiders to find his true value on the market and pay him accordingly.

  • trogPOUNDA

    new post …

  • SnBG

That could be an interesting thing because there are a few teams that would overpay him. Like Wheeler as an ex…. If he gets an overpaid deal good for him but I wouldn’t want to overpay him

  • SnBG

Interesting about Houston because PFF has Houston rated pretty high as a 4-3 DE. Hes a couple of ticks below Hardy at 9.5 overall with a below avg grad for rushing. Quinn being the top of the rating chart is 59.1 overall and 45.3 in rushing.

  • disqus_yeZNegncsV

That’s what Al used to do–overpay.

  • SnBG

    Yello

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

    Much.

  • Jayhawk_Raider

    close enough.
