With Nnamdi Asomugha wrapping up his career on Friday, it begs the question of how he stacks up against the greatest Raiders cornerbacks ever.

    There you go.

  • The Beeeeech Dawg

No matter who the best corner was, it won’t change the fact that you got stomped in the American Revolution

    BALLZ 2 THA WALLZ

  • BLACKBONES

Need to find out why Ron Wolfe & John Madden recomended RM to MD ?????? What was the selling point???

  • Dakota

Routt and his low low burn factor!

  • the authoritative dr robert

Good but not great. Kinda no point. No real story.

  • BLACKBONES

    yup

  • SnBG

    He had tendinitis.

  • RaiderDirt

Lester “The Molesters” Hayes .. Hall of Fame stop playing an let him in!!!!

    One Nation!!

  • the authoritative dr robert

@Jerrymcd: Although all 53 player practiced, CBs Porter (hip flexor) Jenkins (hamstring) questionable. Chekwa, Adams vs. Peyton Manning?

Both players’ agents are appalled their players are starting and being set for failure.

Old Man Willie and Lester….. Hard decision….. Leaning with The Judge…

  • SnBG

R.M. here. I did botch it but in my defense Markie made me do it. He has a thing for Pryor.

  • Raideraholic

You are right he did have 2 all pro selections. I still believe his reputation was a little more impressive than he was. Nnamdi was 1 of the few things I could find light in during the Kiffin/Cable era. smart dude as well.
He just couldn’t put it all together. For example, Deion was a cover corner who also made plays. Nnamdi was a cover corner who rarely made plays. For me it is about being a game changer regardless of what position you play.
Nnamdi shut down half the field they say, but it wasn’t always against the other teams best wideout. He played “his side” and that’s it. Can we say the Raiders won anymore games because of Nnamdi?

Sir Mark Davis of Lancelot got the bowl trim all spiffy….

  • Michael

Can I write in Chris Johnson or Philip bucannon?

  • Twinkle

Probably reduced his range from 10 yards down to five.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

Didn’t see him play. Saw Hayes. Man, him and Haynes together!. Can’t blame Al for trying to catch that lightening in a bottle again! Haynes probably better than Hayes for a couple of those years, but I had to bow to the Judge!

  • SnBG

If you saw Lester play against Fouts and Jefferson you would say he was the best. Those where the best CB/receiver battles I ever saw

  • Twinkle

Arguably the best NFL corner of all time.

  • ENGLANDRAIDER

Yeah. H & H definitely the best tandem.

  • Rico Stifler

I had to vote for Lester Hayes…

  • Twinkle

HOF as in the NFL owners pet dog?

  • SnBG

Big Al here…..No it is not.

  • RaidingTexas

Without question Willie Brown was the best single CB. Lester & Haynes were the best duo ever, though.

  • RaidingTexas

Only if you also add Walter McFadden

  • The Beeeeech Dawg

    That’s because you’re a giant nerd

  • Rico Stifler

    Caked in Stick’em lol

  • turf toe

I liked all of them, but Mike Haynes was the best.

  • SnBG

Lester has 45% of the vote.

  • Rico Stifler

    Hall, no question.

I’ll call you stupid for even asking that question…

  • Rico Stifler

    Or Fabian Washington

  • Rico Stifler

Oh look, the poser is here..

  • Rico Stifler

What about best safety? Tatum is my personal favorite..

  • ENGLANDRAIDER

    Correct.

  • SnBG

Lester intercepted the ball more than Willy. I give it to Hays.

  • Raideraholic

    For haha’s Terry Mac stats:

A five-time Pro Bowl selection from 1992 to 1996, McDaniel had 35 career interceptions for 667 yards and 6 touchdowns. His five interceptions returned for touchdowns over his career with the Raiders are a team record. His 34 interceptions are the third-highest in franchise history, and his 624 return yards are the second-highest.[1

  • Twinkle

No argument…….I posted a link below regarding Revis and Cromartie and their shot at the best duo ever. They will both tell you it ain’t them.See the look of total respect Rod Woodson has when he and Willie get together. All time NFL teams would have them both as fixtures at CB.

  • SnBG

Tatum was a beast. Atkinson was no slouch either.

  • PlunkforHOF

    Yes, The Assassin.

  • The Beeeeech Dawg

You talking to your weiner again?

  • the authoritative dr robert

    Vann McElroy.

  • http://Raiders.com/ Dan78

    Tatum was a wrecking ball…

  • Rico Stifler

    I always like Terry McDaniel

  • Twinkle

He was a doozy…but the assassin was in a league of his own.

  • Rico Stifler

Yeah. I loved his hit on Sammy White.

I’m still mad that I had to sell my Tatum and Willie Brown autographed jerseys to pay rent a few years back.. I shoulda just went homeless and kept the jerseys. Lol. Tatum died like six months after I sold the jerseys…

  • Rico Stifler

No,I am talking to you, Beech Beitch

  • turf toe

NFL films did a piece about the NFL’s hardest hitters, and they interviewed a bunch of Raiders about Tatum. One of the guys said that when Tatum was on the field, you knew it because of the SOUND of the impacts.

  • ENGLANDRAIDER

If Tatum tried to play his style football today they’d arrest him.

  • DJ Johnny

He was great except for that one MNF play when Grbac tossed it up to Andre Rison with like a few secs left…beating McDaniel for an improbable comeback win for KC.

I literally kicked and broke a coffee table after that play.

  • turf toe

    Ha Ha. Jesus, Beeeech.

  • ENGLANDRAIDER

    Definitely a class corner.
