April official; Raiders list 14 returning coaches

The Raiders made the return of special teams coordinator Bobby April official Friday and released a list 14 assistant coaches that will be back in 2014.

General manager Reggie McKenzie said Thursday the club was finalizing an agreement with April.

Other than April, the Raiders coach staff under Dennis Allen will include quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo, wide receivers coach Ted Gilmore, strength and conditioning coach John Greico, offensive quality control coach Justin Griffith, tight ends coach Mark Hutson, offensive coordinator Greg Olson, linebackers coach Bob Sanders, defensive quality control coach Eric Sanders, senior offensive assistant Al Saunders, running backs coach Kelly Skipper, offensive line coach/assistant head coach Tony Sparano, defensive coordinator Jason Tarver and defensive line coach Terrell Williams.

The Raiders are in the market for coaches in the defensive secondary, as Clayton Lopez and Johnnie Lynn are no longer on staff, nor is special teams assistant Keith Burns.

Good morning raider nation from east coast. Rooting for AFC champion this year is really difficult for me for obvious reasons!!! However, Coach B can make chicken salad out of chicken crap and I think his scheming on defense will stop PM and deny horse teeth Elway a Lombardi.
I want seattle to down SF and go all the way- I like Pete Carroll and felt got a raw deal as first HC stint. I would be nice for him to beat NE in superbowl game.

I might have to buy a Patsies t-shirt. . .just for laughs. . .I’ll have to be fitted for Kevlar, though. . .the hunting season looms & I might be on the endangered species list. . .

  • Howard Benner

Sorry about that. . you know how long winded I get. . .

  • RaiderGuy50

I hear u but just can’t get by the tuck rule game and really don”t want them with another championship even though it maybe inevitable.

Vegas adding that hook to Seattle from -3 to -3.5, when over 65% of the money is on the 49ers, tells you Vegas is siding with the Seachickens and taking a stance against the public. The notion Vegas just wants to split and make 10 cents on every dollar bet is horsepuckey.
Vegas is taking the Seahawks, and adding more reason for people to take the 49ers to lure in more money that they think they are going to win.

    Sounded kind of ‘Beeechy’.

I really can’t see the Panthers allowing Kracken to hit the FA market. I think Jared Allen opts for a current play off contender. . .Michael Johnson will probably be overpaid.

Did you notice the love BSPN gave to Lamar Houston? Except he is about 285, not 300 lbs. . .

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

I liked that movie. Nicolas Roeg, I think. And Ziggy, of course.

The wildcard for me is if Manning retires next year if Denver wins it.

  • DJ Johnny

I know…it’s down to the lesser of evils I guess.
I don’t want Manning and Denver to win either.
I was hoping for Colts vs Saints when playoffs started.

I used to have a girlfriend who loved the 40whiners. We went to San Francisco for a Giants-Dodgers series. She was bonding so well with the 40whiner fans that weekend precipitated our demise. . .

  • DJ Johnny

How about he loses AND he retires? That’d be best.
I’ve never had a “root for the team representing your division” thing.

A Bloody Mary & Farmer’s omlette would help it go down better. . .I just stoked up mine. . .

  • Chino

New post. On Brady of course

  • Howard Benner

You know I wouldn’t intentionally go there. . .Thanks for the warning. . .

At least I wasn’t talking about my morning :constitutional. . .

  • NYCRaider

agreed just want him gone. Its tough to root for any of our rivals bc of the passion to dislike them. Even the seahawks still have a bad taste in my mouth even though they left our division awhile ago

  • NYCRaider

if there every was a low risk high reward situation for a team that was rebuilding it was Burfict.

  • Howard Benner

Exactomundo, all the way around. . .My favorite Nicholas Roeg movie is “Eureka. . .” based on a true story about a gold prospecter who is never able to replicate the “juice” of his gold strike. . .Gene Hackman plays the leading role with Joe Peshi & Mickey Rourke, Teresa Russell (who was married to Roeg @ the time) & Rutger Hauer from “Blade Runner” fame. . .

In desperation Hackman uttered my favorite movie line of all time. . .

“I used to have it all; now I just have everything. . .”

Never got around to seeing Boston Legal, but I remember Boston Public from a while back.

Another comedy lawyer show I have watched is Franklin and Bash. Pretty funny with Breckin Meyer and Mark-Paul Gosselaar.
