Raiders confirm hires of Woods, Robertson

The Raiders have hired Joe Woods to be coach the defensive secondary and Marcus Robertson as assistant secondary coach, the club confirmed Monday.

Woods is a 10-year coaching veteran, the last eight with the Minnesota Vikings. Robertson was a secondary coach for the Detroit Lions in 2012-13 and before that worked for the Tennessee Titans.

The two replace Johnnie Lynn and Clayton Lopez, who were not retained on Dennis Allen’s staff for the 2014 season.

You are the wingnut left wing that is. I am middle class and I am getting crushed by this administration and all its good ideas. There are always jobs out there. Some people are thriving in spite of the garbage from Washington but the average income and real spendable income of the middle class is being killed by this “warrior for the middle class.”

  • MachoManRandySavage

So. Gimme Manziel, Clowney, or Robinson. Hell no to Teddy or Matthews…Sammy Watkins? meeeh.

  • JH

And you are another lib thinking because YOU can afford it everyone can…truth is millions cant

Hey BSPN Al Davis died. Just wanted to let you know. Oh and also we do not lead the NFL in penalty yards or trade for 34 year old player anymore.

We are still coming for your guns and your god Dakota…

I like that Politics and Religion are a less heated topic than whether or not to fire anyone in the current Raiders Regime.
    -
State your political opinions, meh. But Support an 8-24 record, I’ll hate you with all of my heart.

  • Raider_Riff

Rolando also told us not to draft him. We refused to listen. He made us suffer for it every time he played.

  • Gdog

Sure glad Pubs are busy passing abortion bills to help all the unemployed! Jobs bills? Still waiting for the first one…

  • Raider_Riff

    LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!

  • Raider_Riff

All politicians should get the firing squad.

And everyone dumb enough to vote for them should be next in line.

Ultimately, society has itself to blame.

  • rifflicks

that 8-24 record affects so many peoples’ lives ….good thing to see you have your priorities straight….besides someone as ignorant as you shouldn’t breath a word about politics

  • aig-raiders

False. It’s actually quite cheap if you are low income.

  • Dakota

What, because I drive on streets? Can call the police? Can call for firefighters? Use the post office?

The fact is I pay a lot in taxes….you probably get most of yours refunded. You probably look forward to April.

  • rifflicks

sure the tax payers are going to pony up another trillion dollar bailout for the insurance companies…..no problem

  • Dakota

    Did he? I missed that.

  • Davy Jones

The joke is the CEO of Papa Johns lives in 40K square feet castle and kvetches about Obamacare costing two dimes a pizza. CEO salary could clearly absorb the cost- but then John Shchnatter would have to go for the medium sized lagoon, and who wants that?

  • Dakota

So open your own Pizza franchise and build your own castle.

  • Sir Raider Duck, OMS

I don’t see Eric Fisher there, either.

  • Gdog

Uhh, the checks are all going to insurance companies… including the subsidies.

    NWRT

  • Raider_Riff

    Yep.

He was very against coming to us and straight up said so in the pre draft interviews.

I remember reading about it when all the dirt was coming out during his end with us.

  • RaiderGuy50

In Maryland, If single parent, you can make up to 80K and still qualify for medical assistance. So, its more inclusive.

You know who Rahm Emmauel is, right, former chief of staff of POTUS, now the mayor of Chicago?
His brother (forget his first name) is a doctor who is an avowed Leftist, not just a dem, a Leftist He has been involved in health care reform since the days of Hilary Clinton as First Lady.
He wrote a book that is the basis of this law.
Go to Amazon and look for it if you are willing.
He outlines the health care he wishes for (this we have now is the precursor to it).
He states this in his book (a golfer buddy brought it to the course one day–he’s a retired eye surgeon) and I’ve seen him on tv addressing the questions put to him. He flat out states in his book that under the new health law, hospitals should be given “bonuses” at the end of each year if they can show/prove that they limited the amount of money per diem they spent on patients over the age of 62. He argues in his book that this money spent by hospitals on “old folks” is money better spent on younger folks.
When asked about it on tv, he flat out said, “They’ve lived their lives.”
Okay, they had this woman on tv who had the 2,000+ page law on her desk (Megyn Kelly’s show). She turned to the page of the law and read that very part, the part about hospitals being given money breaks by the Feds by proving they didn’t spend X dollars on patients in the Sixties. This part of Obamacare is to encourage hospitals and doctors of those hospitals to NOT order test and procedures for “old people.”
That is where the “death panel” stuff came from .
I don’t know about you, bud, but most people in their Sixties are still productive citizens. In fact, I’d argue they are likely to be more productive than their azz-slow kids and grandkids. However, even IF they weren’t that is unnatural and unfair treatment of people.
That’s a totalitarian government on the rise.

  • rifflicks

Low income….no problem…..you’re put on MediCaid…..the Tax Payers foot the bill

  • Davy Jones

Not sure I could quite afford the castle, since I feel obligated to treat employees fairly. And that’s the point.

  • aig-raiders

Well, medical is already footing the bill for free prior to ACA so what is your point?

  • rifflicks

Not everyone lives in California you moron

  • Dakota

Treating employees fairly? Does it take a lot of skill to engineer a pizza? If you want to be paid better, then get a better job.

  • Dakota

    SMH.

  • Guest123

and feed people high carb high fat cheap food that provide ignorant overindulgent masses into ruining their health and overtaxing our health care system with all sorts of premature diseases related directly to obesity. it all comes full circle. you will pay either way.

  • aig-raiders

It was free in Tenn too when we lived there. Low income people already get free medical insurance. It was always the middle class that got squeezed and especially with pre-existing cond. In Vegas, a police officer would do better if he divorced his wife and she can put their kid on state insurance for free rather than staying married due to pre-existing condition. That was on 60 mins a few yrs ago.

  • Gdog

Only if you live in a red state with a Pub governor that refused the Fed money to expand Medicare. Like mine…

  • Buckarama

Stocks are up, they must have leaked the numbers to some one or Wall Street is very optimistic

  • rifflicks

Well Einstein….ACA raised the acceptable income and shifts people to Medicaid (the states pay) to hide the actual costs

  • Dakota

A little personal responsibility would be nice. hey, you dropped out of HS because you didn’t like it….then learn to live making Papa John wages. You eat yourself into bad health, then get in shape.

Of course we need safety nets, but just not for 1/3 of the nation. If you can afford a cell phone data plan, and have internet and Cable TV, and then you probably should not be on food stamps.

  • Davy Jones

You’re right, anyone unfortunate enough to work at a Papa Johns deserves what they don’t get.

  • 1960AutumnWind

The real joke is the rich are getting richer (he will just pass on the cost or cut benefits/jobs) and the poor are getting poorer (people will just have to pay more or unemployment will go up) and the middle class is shrinking and we are more dependent on the govt than ever. I feel like we are Frogs in a slow boil with the current set up in Washington. Many of the mandates in the Health law are political/idelogical and they cause the real cost of premiums to go up. The subsidy that others talked about is paid by someone somewhere.

  • Sir Raider Duck, OMS

Are you sure the ACA isn’t largely based on Mitt Romney’s “RomneyCare?”

  • Davy Jones

Point of the debate is: how sh*ttily should employers be able to treat their employees and still be morally accepted? If Papa Johns is our example, and .20 a pie is all it would take to pay for their healthcare and they aren’t getting it, the answer is pretty sh*tty.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

C’mon, man! You’re equating food to necessities.

a very popular liberal talking point to avoid the real issue

  • 1960AutumnWind

And that makes it ok? One is at State Level and one is prescribed for whole nation at once.

  • Sir Raider Duck, OMS

I like Papa John’s (like any franchise pizza joint, the quality of the food is 100% dependent on the quality of your local franchise owner), but I couldn’t care less about the man’s politics.
