Report: Woodson to sign on for another year

The Raiders have agreed to a one-year deal with free safety Charles Woodson, ESPN reported Wednesday night.

Woodson, 37, said at the end of the season and in radio interviews he wanted to return to the Raiders for another season and would consider retirement if a deal didn’t materialize.

General manager Reggie McKenzie and coach Dennis Allen both said the wanted Woodson to return.

Woodson becomes the fourth unrestricted free agent to return to the Raiders, joining offensive lineman Khalif Barnes, running back Darren McFadden and safety Usama Young.

In 16 games, Woodson had three forced fumbles, 97 tackles an interception and missed very few practice snaps over the course of the season.

It’s not just them. It’s Simms and Gannon and Esiason and Mayock. Believe what you want. The Hobbit is a franchise killing bust.

Schaub was ranked below everyone last year I think we’ve already established that. McGloins -5 never beat Schaub in any other year.

Point is Veldheer or Houston were gone next year of you tag them. We can easily extend the guys from this year next offseason of they produce. Because they WANT to be here.

All guys with the same general attitude about mobile QBs. They think guys like Wilson and Manziel are the same as guys like Vick and Pryor… they get caught up worrying about the tendency to and ignore the difference in accuracy and instincts

Ironically Gannon the analyst wouldn’t have believed in Gannon the young player

Haha, good one. They had that aura before they set an NFL record for consecutive non-winning seasons. That aura was gone long before Reggie arrived.

  • You’re absolutely right. Age before awesomeness…
