Raiders bring back one of their own free agents

Fullback Jamize Olawale on Tuesday signed the one-year contract tendered him by the Raiders in advance of free agency.
Olawale is the second of Oakland’s six exclusive-rights free agents to sign the one-year tender offered them earlier this month.
The four others have yet to sign, though all are expected to, given they don’t have any leverage because they don’t have enough experience to be unrestricted free agents.
Safety Brandian Ross re-signed with the Raiders in early March. Offensive tackle Matt McCants, linebacker Kaelin Burnett, cornerback Chimdi Chekwa and running back Jeremy Stewart have yet to sign their tenders.
Olawale played in all 16 games last season, his second with the Raiders. He developed into a front-line blocker in the run game and as a core special teams player.

Need to pull a Charlie and go up top to ask Charlie if there’s an apology coming for blithely misrepresenting my opinions because I’m not in Charlie’s camp.

  • SilverandBlack666

That is funny as hell SnBG!

  • Alex7

What legacy stuff? He had his 2 best seasons ever the 2 before last year. You guys are eager to cut as soon as a guy slumps. Buy high and sell low.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

    Your not alone.

More good reading for Mrs Brown:

You obviously don’t read his posts then. NOTHING Reggie has done has been a mistake, and if there was a mistake, its Als fault. Also, this is not a 3 year process, it FIVE years. We should not expect a winning team until 2015, if then. Thats how bad Al screwed the team up!

    Read his posts…

  • IAmAlwaysWrong

even Charlie knows that Palmer sucks.

  • scinfidel

Alex is switching his handle to answer that right now.

  • SilverandBlack666

Maybe he slept at a Holiday Inn last night

    Michael Jackson?

This place is an asylum for deranged loons to spend 18 hrs a day with multiple logins talking out their a$s.

  • Charlie

    Wrong
This is the best Oline we have had since 2002. We actually have some depth as well.
I do believe we could easily use high round picks in rounds 1-3 on an Olineman and a dlineman.
Now that FA is largely complete, it is impossible to predict what we will do in the draft. I do believe we will truly be drfating BPA.
We can go in many different directions including trading down.

Look at you knee deep in this fuggery 18hrs a day on all your screen names looking like a complete derelict.

    You actually read it?

    lol

  • _Mista_

    Cockroach troll.

  • Alex7

Living in the pre manning pre smith AFC West past, huh? Move on.

  • Charlie

If you remember I felt Plamer was a decent QB but I kept insisting that NO QB could win behind our Oline and lack of running game.
I also emphasised that those deficiencies became very apparent against playoff teams.

  • DutchRaid

Did someone really up vote his post? Or did he vote himself?

  • Charlie

    What do you stand for?

  • SnBG

If we get Sims back that would go a long way in solidifying the D line. Add another DT in free agency or the draft . You can also put Woodley on the edge and have Tuck rush the passer from the inside in some D schemes.

  • Charlie

I think this applies to you:
It looks like I may have found a
correlation between whiners and years of being a Raider fan. It looks like bloggers who actually saw us win consistently in the 70′s and 80′s see we are making progress.

It looks like bloggers that have been around for about ten years or less are pretty out of touch as to what we are building with Reggie. Their highpoint may
have been the 2002 team at best. Hardly Raider football.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

Thanks,My. There’s lots of llamas in NM, by the way.

  • AlDavisJr

    Didja read what I said?
If SEABASS falls on his A$$ again….
Or are you ready for another year with the lowest rated kicker in the NFL? Just le him fk around for another 2-3 years??

  • SilverandBlack666

    Wwwhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!

  • AlDavisJr

We could use another decent safety. There are still a couple of good ones that haven’t been signed:
Clemons from the Dolphins and Wright from the Bears.

  • The Ghost of Dave Casper

I admit that I haven’t been on this blog as long as most people, so I haven’t seen all his posts. Just going by what I’ve seen today. 5 years is too long. 3-4 is about right to fix this team, in my view. And I do blame Al and his “yes men” for the current state of affairs. You can’t fix a decade of (really) bad drafts in 2-3 years. That’s not an unreasonable point of view in my book. Whether the turnaround happens in 3, 4, or 5 years, who knows? This isn’t an exact science, obviously. RM needs to be judged on what he did last year, this year, and next year, if he makes it that far. He gets big minuses from me for Flynn, Wilson, and losing Veldheer, and an INC. on Hayden and Watson. I’ve really liked what he’s done later in the draft and UFAs, finding above average talent cheap, and signing people to short term deals until this team builds through the draft. Not in love with Dennis Allen at all. C grade so far.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

So you’re admitting to having no clue as to my opinions , statements, or history as a Raider fan? But because I tire of your repetitive carping you cavalierly mis-ascribe viewpoints to me and misrepresent my Raider history?

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

You felt you knew in your hit piece below. Now you say you haven’t a clue? Okay, then.

  • SnBG

We sure could. We could use another C or two also.

  • Davy Jones

Credit to all you Pryor bashers on this board, at least you refrain from using the N word. How does someone enjoy both the NFL and the N word? Worse trolls than here.

  • Return

People are quoting “It’s all on Shaub.”

    Nope

    It’s all on Penn.

The entire offense rests on Penn and to a lesser degree the health of the rb’s.

  • AlDavisJr

At least one—Wiz evidently likes to play at the guard position better. La Puente is available, but probably ain’t cheapo. And then the Super Center Mack. Cleveland will not pass him along. Wouldn’t hurt to put in a bid tho.

  • Raider O

    Lmao

  • Raider O

I like that move a lot, and I like the OT/ OG we signed from the Jets, but we needed young players to build around and not old vets

  • VanHeathen30

Mark is the Director of Football Ops for all intent and purpose…if Mark REALLY wanted to fill that position he would have by now…a couple pointless interviews were just a ruse….Mark wants this done his way, and the results are as expected…

  • Ian

theres a good likelihood that we take a WR with our 1st pick. Thou must take the best player available.
