Raiders bring back one of their own free agents

Fullback Jamize Olawale on Tuesday signed the one-year contract tendered him by the Raiders in advance of free agency.
Olawale is the second of Oakland’s six exclusive-rights free agents to sign the one-year tender offered them earlier this month.
The four others have yet to sign, though all are expected to, given they don’t have any leverage because they don’t have enough experience to be unrestricted free agents.
Safety Brandian Ross re-signed with the Raiders in early March. Offensive tackle Matt McCants, linebacker Kaelin Burnett, cornerback Chimdi Chekwa and running back Jeremy Stewart have yet to sign their tenders.
Olawale played in all 16 games last season, his second with the Raiders. He developed into a front-line blocker in the run game and as a core special teams player.

Or that Hayden STILL outperformed half the 1st round.

  • Return

No when we traded for JC he and JR were in head to head competition until Hue and company abruptly cut JR.

  • FourMoreYears

I agree with you. I just think it’s weird that Palmer was willing to take less money elsewhere because we wouldn’t guarantee him the job over Pryor but we have no problem guaranteeing Schaub the job over McGloin.

  • _Mista_

OakGlen has been gone for years SeyMour666riffs put that puppet to rest. Why are you talking about OakGlen everyday?

    Loon.

  • Charlie

    Resorting to typo analysis?
    Again very sad.
As I said to YOU in my post below. You do not know the meaning of adversity.

  • the swanky socialite dr robert

Nah. Thanks for the offer though.

  • Myopinion

I personally think purvis is a witty funny mfckr.

  • SnBG

    Wanna fk off?

  • Charlie

    u a fool

  • scinfidel

If you want to use $5 words around here you better be able to pay for them.

  • _Mista_

    LMAO

All the deranged puppets are fired up now.

  • Dr. Hunter S. Thompson

i won’t bring him up if you won’t.

    You won’t last a week.

  • _Mista_

SnBG already spoke for you time to fall back and let your puppet talk.

  • Return

They did guarantee the job to Palmer. Palmer was always penciled in as starter.

  • SnBG

Is it hard to be a phony cross poster.

  • Dr. Hunter S. Thompson

Reggie is a failure as a GM.

  • Raideraholic

JR being cut=one of the few positive moments the Raiders have had this past decade.

  • the swanky socialite dr robert

Reggie feels I should wait til the price comes down. I want value. I will take an older, recently injured former $5 word and pay $3.

    #smart

  • IAmAlwaysWrong

Charlie: are you satisfied with the current O-Line? we lost Veldheer, but Reggie added Penn, Howard, Boothe and re-signed Barnes & McCants. do we still need to spend a 1st or 2nd round pick on the OL? or can that he spent elsewhere? please weigh in. Thanks pal

The worst part of the whining is that it’s boring–it’s all been said, by the same people, over and over.
It’s not that criticisms of the org, the gm, the staff, and the players aren’t valid to one degree or another, but okay, all right already, nothing new…do the guys who keep offering up the same stuff think it’s entertaining?
Nah, they know it isn’t (okay, a few uncreative people don’t comprehend how stale are the IHOP jokes and they do think they are entertaining), but most of just wish to be irritating, not elucidating.
However, most of these sorts just like to play the adolescent game of “I told you so.” Given the history of the Raiders over these last many years, they figure the odds are really good that their criticisms will be borne out by a poor record and they can come in a blog and bloviate. That’s the extent of things that make them happy in life, I guess.

  • Alex7

By a lot. Barr gets swallowed up when run at.

  • DutchRaid

Wrong…go back and read the stories Debbie. They should be on this site. Jason Campbell was told he was going to be the starter.

  • Alex7

    Mack, Frazier, then Barr.

  • Gdog

So nice to see paid Raider employee- Charlie Lolipop Sunshine here blowing smoke up everyones azz! It always makes me want to wrap myself in my Raider flag and kneel to the west in worship of St. Reggie the Great.

    All Hail Reggie…

    Amen.

  • Myopinion

I’m not a big fan of drafting Evans, but a pick and Barr would be nice. Mack or Watkins and no pick would also be really nice.

  • scinfidel

Here is the reality on the DJ pick. Last year, impact players were imperative, so for RM to place his faith in a player that almost just died and no one knew if he’d be able to play again and if he did, would he be the same player was a poor decision. Watson wasn’t a bad pick, he’s a longer term play and he was projected as a possible 1st rounder so he gets a little grace on that one. First round last year should have been either Star or Sheldon, period.

  • SnBG

Penn weighs in enough, don’t you RR? You silly cross poster you.

  • Gdog

We can’t have THAT here ya know. Its worship Reggie time!!

  • Alex7

Resort to boring sarcasm when you can’t debate the spot on points. Zzzzzzz.

  • scinfidel

He’s all about value but I don’t think RM would pick words he couldn’t pronounce, which leaves out a lot of the English language.

  • _Mista_

Is it your job to ask people questions? Are you paid to drive up posts ?

  • Return

No, Palmer left because RM wouldn’t guarantee him a certain amount of money up front. Had nothing in the world to do with Pryor. Competition is great but DA will go to the ends of the earth to guarantee there is no qb controversy and that his guy looks good and succeeds above all else. He rode Flynn’s bum arm until even he couldn’t hide it anymore.

  • Gdog

You type well on your knees…

  • SnBG

They let us out at 8 in the morning at the insane asylum. You’re in a padded cell though. How did you get out?

  • Myopinion

You’ve probably seen more than I have. But Barr has production, he’s got a body that can take weight on id think. And he’s only been at his position 2years could definetly really develop with tuck and Woodley. But again I like Mack and he is rated higher. Would be very happy with either.

  • Charlie

It looks like I may have found a correlation between whiners and years of being a Raider fan.
It looks like bloggers who actually saw us win consistently in the 70′s and 80′s see we are making progress.
It looks like bloggers that have been around for about ten years or less are pretty out of touch as to what we are building with Reggie. Their highpoint may have been the 2002 team at best. Hardly Raider football.

  • Alex7

Lol, because Star had no medical issues at the combine. And Sheldon would have been a backup being that Walker and Sims outperformed Star.

  • the swanky socialite dr robert

Do u see puppets everywhere u go?

  • scinfidel

These guys would have been great in JonesTown.

  • inonewordraider

with allen off the board, is now the time to spend up the rest of your money leaving a space for draft picks, or do you save space in hopes of a draft day trade?

  • _Mista_

All the cross posting puppets jump in front of the bus to defend each other. Its like a infestation of cockroaches in here.

  • IAmAlwaysWrong

Reggie replaced Houston, Hunter & Walker with Tuck, Woodley & Smith. is that enough? should we sign a free agent or just wait for the draft? Corkran mentioned Pat Sims will probably be back since he played fairly well and won’t cost much to retain. However, he’s not back yet because he’s asking for more $$$ than Reggie is offering. He’ll wake up soon or be easily replaced. what solves the DL, Charlie?

  • SnBG

    What’s up Purvie?

  • DutchRaid

Q: As far as you can tell it’s a competition to start?

Campbell: No. I didn’t get that feeling. I feel like I am going to be the starter from talking to them in detail. I’m going to go out there and put in all the work I need to put in and move forward. From talking to them I think I will be the starter.

  • _Mista_

You just fire off post after post like a bot.

    Are they paying you?

  • R8erEduc8er

I get email notifications. Had to come back and like your comment. Peace.

  • the swanky socialite dr robert

We are going to get u.

  • IAmAlwaysWrong

yes, but it’s not enough. care to pitch in?

  • Davy Jones

That Pryor Sucks forum is really classy. *rolleyes*

  • FourMoreYears

Thank you for proving the point I made below. You can’t simply present your OPINION (and don’t kid yourself, that’s all it is, if you knew anything you’d be working in the NFL instead of posting on a blog) and accept that there are others who will feel differently. I could spend my time refuting you, presenting stats and historical similarities, but I’m not going to because you’ll just dismiss everything I say offhand because I’m just a whiney hater who would rather be right than win. So instead, I’ll take the lower (and infinitely more gratifying) road of telling you to kiss my grits, you sad little troll.
