Raiders bring back one of their own free agents

Fullback Jamize Olawale on Tuesday signed the one-year contract tendered him by the Raiders in advance of free agency.
Olawale is the second of Oakland’s six exclusive-rights free agents to sign the one-year tender offered them earlier this month.
The four others have yet to sign, though all are expected to, given they don’t have any leverage because they don’t have enough experience to be unrestricted free agents.
Safety Brandian Ross re-signed with the Raiders in early March. Offensive tackle Matt McCants, linebacker Kaelin Burnett, cornerback Chimdi Chekwa and running back Jeremy Stewart have yet to sign their tenders.
Olawale played in all 16 games last season, his second with the Raiders. He developed into a front-line blocker in the run game and as a core special teams player.

We are coming to get u.

  • IAmAlwaysWrong

thanks for not answering the question that wasn’t directed at you …

  • _Mista_

    Fk no.
Just curious about what you are doing. Will ignore you from now on.

  • Alex7

And the whiners resort to sarcasm and simple minded sayings, ignoring the owner demands at deconstructing, the lack of 1st round talent from 2003-2011 this regime can use, the fact no top coaches come here, etc.

Nope, none of that is relevant. Too hard to incorporate that into whining.

  • Gdog

Uhh, even if so, Walker and Sims are gone… well about to be.

But don’t let that interrupt our Reggie worship… aahhhhhhhhmen.

  • scinfidel

Those facts are about as factual as your claim that “Jamarcus set numerous records at LSU” Here is the LSU record book, again, and again no Jamarcus in any of the Top 3 in any category http://www.lsusports.net/src/data/lsu/assets/docs/fb/pdf/06fbguide136-194.pdf?DB_OEM_ID=5200

  • Raideraholic

NFL will test longer extra points for two weeks in the preseason
    ————————————————–
I’m all for making the extra point anything but what it is now.

  • the swanky socialite dr robert

    But hilarious.

  • Charlie

I can see us getting more Dline help somewhere with at least one of our top three picks regardless of Sims.
I really think we are truly a BPA draft at this point.
IMO our best play would be to trade back in the first round for more picks.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

Another classic, Charlie. Not one ‘criticism’ reflects my opinion. Doesn’t change my opinion of you. You have seriously devolved into an idiot savant/rainman with the 2003-2011 numbers, facts, and figures clouding your every thought.

  • SnBG

    he’s funny that way.

  • IAmAlwaysWrong

whats the change? 4 yards instead of 2? whee! cant wait …

  • scinfidel

hmmm, here is the 2013 Rookie All Pro Team.. both Sheldon and Star are there https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2014/01/08/2013-pff-all-rookie-team/2/

  • Papertiger

    42 yards, bro.

  • FourMoreYears

I was under the impression that Palmer was ticked off because of the way he was treated, being asked to take a paycut with no guarantees. I could be wrong but that’s how I remember things shaking out in the end. Can’t provide a source on where I got that from at the moment.

  • IAmAlwaysWrong

that would be crazy. cut Seabass yesterday!!

  • The Ghost of Dave Casper

You’re a Raider employee or Kool-Aid drinker if you’re not carrying a torch and pitchfork to run Reggie out of town after two years? Don’t think so. Not everyone thinks he’s done a terrible job. Jury’s still out on some of his decisions, including Hayden.

  • Alex7

And it says to keep posts appropriate!

  • 1960AutumnWind

Because JR was a purple drank addict that was sucking at QB. Even Davis would not scholarship him at that point. If one QB is clearly better than another why competition unless you suffer from PDS (Pryor derangement syndrome). By the way there is not competition at position like center and SS as well because primary player has earned the position.

  • Gdog

He’s like a guy that buys a “Tool Shop” air compressor at Menards, and after it takes a sheet on him in one year, he BUYS ANOTHER to replace it… all to save 50 bucks.

  • SnBG

Tittymonkey here Mista,,,,,,I think you need a little love from the gals.

  • Alex7

    Troll talent

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

How about ascribing those points to one of his biggest critics entirely erroneously? Disingenuous, no?

  • scinfidel

Shall I point out that you used a period instead of a question mark?

  • Alex7

It’s called discussion. What this blog is intended for. Better than whining.

  • AlDavisJr

Who would we spend it on? The FA market is getting rather thin. Save some millions of $ as it can be used on players cut later, and carried to next year. After a year with the current roster, RM and DA will be in a position to get rid of dead wood if there is any, and shop the market for some replacements. We get 5-6-7 players in the draft each year. Picking up 28-30 year old players that still have some gas in the tank and have been good all of their career is not a lose lose scenario.

  • Gdog

You don’t think Charlie’s posts look like they are written by a paid employee?

    Tell me why exactly…

  • IAmAlwaysWrong

    thanks. i feel better now!

  • Alex7

    Can you ignore everyone? Please?

  • FourMoreYears

Isn’t it hilarious how he tells us we have no concept of the history of the Raiders and yet all he ever talks about is 2003-2011?

  • 1960AutumnWind

It’s called having an open mind and judging RM based on actions and not being a Reggie droid.

  • Myopinion

Ha, yeah right, I’m from New Mexico, never even seen a llama. Just stating my opinion to your insult towards him.

  • Gdog

Plus we are now looking for replacements for Sims and Walker, while Star and Richardson are signed for 4 years…

  • Alex7

    I’ll defend that.

  • DKnight007

42 yards for an extra point is way too far. A 32 yarder would be good enough

  • the swanky socialite dr robert

    Meaning “no Pryor support allowed!”

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

I’m not expecting an apology, but I think I’ll ‘pull a Charlie’ and go up top and ask for one.

  • AlDavisJr

For damn sure we need to pick up a kicker this year. If SEABASS falls on his A$$ again, have a young gun on the PS ready to come in. I like Seabass, but produce, or leave. This legacy $h!t has to go. You done? You done.

  • Davy Jones

I actually love the Tuck Signing, with you there. It’s the “Veldheer/Houston/Saffold = NBD” part of your position that I think is a pile of steamy BS.

  • Gdog

Might make the 28 board pots higher!

  • FourMoreYears

Some good reading for you Mista:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persecutory_delusion

I think you should get an evaluation by a mental health professional, it could be of great benefit to you.

  • Gdog

“Progress” from 8 wins is not 7 wins, Charlie. Or how many do you see this team winning? Let me guess…. 15?

  • Davy Jones

If only that were true. ;-)

  • DutchRaid

For the season, Hayden was beat for a 110.0 passer rating, and he ended on injured reserve.
    Is that good?

  • SilverandBlack666

That was pretty damn accurate. Are you a doctor?

  • The Ghost of Dave Casper

His posts sound like someone who doesn’t agree that the current management sucks and needs to go, that’s all. I don’t think he should be getting personal with people who disagree with him, but I don’t see anything in there that suggests he’s a paid Raider employee. You could say the same thing about anyone who says anything positive about RM, including me. I don’t agree with every decision RM has made, but I also don’t think he’s to blame for everything, or that every decision he’s made has been a bad one, or that this sh%^ sandwich could be fixed by anyone in two years. Or three. To me, this year is the real test. If they screw up the draft and implode this year, I’ll be on the other side of the RM debate.

  • scinfidel

Please don’t confuse Alex with facts, she prefers hyperbole.

  • IAmAlwaysWrong

    truth!

  • FourMoreYears

No but I play one on the internet.

  • EDWARD TEACH

I just answered that question. The Raiders gave up a sixth rounder for Schaub because they didn’t want to risk being outbid in free agency. If Pryor is all that (as some folks in here would like to believe), then one could assume that the same would happen in his case. If it doesn’t, then maybe he’s not the budding superstar he’s being made out to be in here and someone will just sign him off the street.
