McKenzie, Veldheer take turns giving sides on sides parting ways

On Tuesday, Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie had the microphone, while offensive tackle Jared Veldheer had no platform to give his side of the he-said, he-said story about how the Raiders-Veldheer divorce came about.
McKenzie pinned it all on Veldheer, leaving no wiggle room.
“Losing Veldheer was a blow to me,” McKenzie told the San Francisco Chronicle. “He didn’t want to come back. It wasn’t about finances. The kid didn’t want to play for the Raiders anymore, and I struggled with that.”
On Wednesday, Veldheer got his chance behind the microphone, and he painted quite a different picture.
“I appreciate everything that Oakland did for me over the last four years, we just couldn’t get [a contract] done,” Veldheer said in an interview with Arizona Sports 98.7 FM. “It wasn’t that I didn’t want to be there, because I know that’s been said recently. That just wasn’t the case. Things were unable to get done at the table and that led to free agency and now I looking forward to Arizona and looking to what the future has here.”
So, we’re left with a variation of the adage about there being three sides to every story: McKenzie’s side, Veldheer’s side and the truth.

Robinson will be a beast for years…..good pick too. Penn has issues.

It was said all year long, “What incentives do players have to come to a back to back 4-12 team that throws it’s own players under the bus besides grossly overpaying them?” Reggie isn’t even willing to do that unless you have major question marks about your health and ability

Dutch: good point, the Browns can take Derek Carr 26th overall (with Indy’s pick). Maybe Reggie can trade up from 36 to 21 with Packers? you know Thompson would love to milk a few extra draft picks out of his old pal McKenzie..

See, that’s the one thing that makes me wary. Most Heisman winners are flops in the NFL. I think Johnny can buck the trend though.

FML, Reggie on the trading block is worse than Reggie with $5 in his pocket.

I still say trade for Desean Jackson in case Watkins isn’t there at #5..and if he is; still select him, and say “here you are Schaub”…an early XMas present

Put down the pipe, says the crack monkey who thinks Manziel lasts to the second round. Put money on that?

he juked a few potential tacklers. . when hit went down on first contact. .

so, yes, the rose colored glasses reference would prove more accurate. . .
