McKenzie gets up-close look at Clowney

Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie was among a slew of NFL front-office personnel and coaches in attendance Wednesday for the pro day of South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney.
The 49ers also sent at least one representative to see first-hand the workout of a player many consider the most-talented prospect in the 2014 NFL draft class and some view as a sure-fire No. 1 pick.
The Raiders hold the rights to the No. 5 pick in the draft, which begins May 8. McKenzie hasn’t said what direction the Raiders are leaning in terms of which player they covet most or which position they intend to target in the first round.
However, coach Dennis Allen has said that it’s imperative the Raiders add two or three impact players on offense and defense this offseason. Clowney has the ability to make an immediate impact based upon an impressive college career.
There’s little, if any, chance that Clowney will be available when the 49ers pick at No. 30. That doesn’t mean that the 49ers won’t consider trading up if the asking price isn’t too prohibitive.
For now, the Raiders are slated to use Justin Tuck and LaMarr Woodley at defensive end next season. Drafting Clowney would give them added depth and flexibility in their defensive scheme, in addition to the kind of playmaker they lacked in recent seasons.

How about you take this to a news of the day blog. This a sports blog…Raider Football, ok ?

Then you make two non-sports related posts. I think everyone here would agree that you are by far the person who makes the most political comments.

I was in the Navy during the Reagan era (stationed in San Diego), We never carried weapons on base either, not even while on shore patrol.
