Raiders offseason dates released

The Raiders were informed by the league Thursday when they are allowed to assemble during the offseason, per the collective bargaining agreement.
Here are the dates: Organized Team Activities are scheduled for May 27, 28 and 30; June 2, 3 and 5; June 9-12. The team’s lone mandatory mini camp is slated for June 17-19. All of the proceedings take place at the team’s year-round facility in Alameda.
Once the aforementioned are completed, the Raiders don’t assemble again as a team until the start of training camp in late July, in Napa. Teams are allowed to start training camp 15 days before their first exhibition game. The league doesn’t intend to release its schedule for 2014 until late April.

    Team of the Decades….

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

Because of Al’s influence? I’ll take the three lombardi’s. Thanks Al.

  • Steveopa

Yes you play nickel package about 70 percent of snaps now. All rookies have learning curves. Starting out yes make him earn starting job.

  • 1960AutumnWind

Who hired Allen and Gruden? How well did Allen and Gruden do at TB long term? How could this be? I am going to quit responding to this ignorance.

  • Raiderfan4life

Winning three Super Bowls in 8 years should have got us on NFL Networks Dynasty series.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

Al had complete dominion over everything that went bad and none when the Lombardi’s were earned. It’s just that simple.

  • PlunkforHOF

That seems, well, nuts to me.

  • BigTed707

Gruden had .594 winning percentage with Al,
.509 winning percentage without Al. Who was helping who?

  • Marley Bob

    Exactly.

  • Myopinion

You pass on clowney at 5?

  • Lowdown_in_Beijing

    one last time, source?

  • http://AdvoCare.com/ Till death do us part

    Bergerstrom’s pretty exciting as well

  • Raiderfan4life

Or was that 3 in 7 years?

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

I have to leave Oak, but you’re wrong as well.

  • Marley Bob

SnBG is a troll looking to cause a stir on a slow day.
    Boring.

  • Steveopa

Or Clowney could come in and be rookie of the year and be defensive player of the year.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

    Al Davis/Raiders. Easy to google.

  • Lowdown_in_Beijing

thanks, will do. Peace be with you.

  • Raiderfan4life

At least we can rekindle the glory days…

  • BigTed707

You mean his love for Dennis Allen isn’t genuine?!

  • SnBG

I don’t see anyone really disputing my facts. I see one-liner posts that are not well thought out.If your going to debate me then give me some real contradictory facts. You can’t because this is the truth and to tell you Al Davis is not a god is blasphemy. You folks have gotten used to and brainwashed by the old Al way of doing things and can’t see the future.

  • Steveopa

Just my opinion. Who would you rather draft? I’m curious.

  • http://AdvoCare.com/ Till death do us part

? What do you mean, I hope this isn’t a stupid question

  • rudegruden

You criticize others, while cross posting and using other logins to try to prove your point

  • Kamikaze_Sensei

Pretty sure this is sarcasm mate.

  • PlunkforHOF

If Watkins is there, or we’re offered a shtload of picks?… yes

  • http://AdvoCare.com/ Till death do us part

I still don’t get it sarcastically

  • BigTed707

Can’t deny the losses and bad draft picks – I was here – I witnessed that.

But I don’t blame Al for the failures of Russel, Mclain, Mcfadden. these all seemed like legit picks at the time.

  • http://thebadtenants.com/ eternal pessimist

Kid needs a healthy dose of reality. His head isn’t in the game. I don’t see him as the type to put in the extra hours when there’s a celebrity-packed party to be at. No thanks. Don’t see him as a leader. Don’t see him bringing the Lombardi here.

  • PlunkforHOF

Watkins, maybe Mack. I wouldn’t be pissed if we took Clowney at 5, we shouldn’t trade up is what I said.

  • AlDavisJr

Or even just a later first round pick, a 3rd and a 5th.

  • http://batman-news.com accupolco gold aka elmo

    No ès true.

  • BigTed707

And I recall being excited about the Raiders again right before Al died, seemed like we were almost out of the dark.

  • Rick Worth

    Booooo!!!!!!!!

  • rudegruden

Nope, he’s just a dipsh*t who just wants to argue. Uses multiple handles, talks to himself with each of those handles, gets called out on it and keeps coming back.

    He’s a cockroach that won’t go away

  • Myopinion

I guess I’d have to think a tiny bit with Watkins, but I think I take clowney. But it would have to be something crazy in trade to pass on either.

  • AlDavisJr

A healthy ego is good–it looks like JF has an unhealthy ego. Football seems to be third or fourth on his priority list—he is first and money is second.

  • Steveopa

You rather draft Watkins then Clowney. I like Watkins but I would take Clowney in a.heart beat. Seahawks gave us the blue print on how you effect Peyton and that is with pass rushers. So why not get the best pass rusher.

  • Raiderfan4life

You sure seem to be casting a wide net…Al was the architect that turned around the Raiders for decades…as Managing General Partner he did have a say in his players and staff which was inclusive of the Ron Wolfs, Maddens, Flores & Grudens,…over the last 10 years he tried to do more with less and it didn’t work.

  • http://AdvoCare.com/ Till death do us part

Do people that do that just sit and type all day ? How is that possible?

  • http://thebadtenants.com/ eternal pessimist

Afternoon everyone. Slow day, so what are we arguin about now?

  • Raiderfan4life

That got the Raiders into 5 Super Vowls.

  • http://thebadtenants.com/ eternal pessimist

    Agree.

  • SnBG

If you’re going to blame Reg for what is going on then you have to look back and acknowledge that Mr. Davis did more damage to the Raiders than Reg or DA will ever be capable of. Don’t be hypocritical.

  • PlunkforHOF

If that’s the case, and he’s all we need, maybe RM should pull a Ditka and give up ALL our picks to make sure we get to #1 and get him?

  • Kamikaze_Sensei

Apparently we’re back to whether Al was a great owner, or pure crud; all based on the last 10 years of his ownership. So, the typical material when nothing is happening.

  • Raiderfan4life

    And 5 Super Bowls

  • Marley Bob

    Just for kicks:

“Everything I know about this game is directly attributable to what I learned working with Al Davis,” says Wolf, 58, the general manager of the Packers.
“I still think when it comes to every facet of the game of football, he’s the best there is in the National Football League.”

“Al Davis took the time to train me,” Wolf says in declining to take a bow. “I was very fortunate to have that opportunity.”
