Raiders make official signing of TE Kyle Auffray

The Raiders announced the signing of tight end Kyle Auffray Sunday, a move first reported by the National Football Post two days ago.

There has been no corresponding move as yet, but the likely one is placing Nick Kasa (turn ACL) on injured reserve.

One of my all time favs. . .

Remember the game against the Giants in New Jersey? he used the wind to throw a deep ball to rocket to win the contest, while suffering from an injured left shoulder many thought would require surgery. . .

Remember, the Giants drafted him out of college & he schooled @ West Virginia. . .Hostetler was oft injured due to his penchant to hold onto the ball, waiting for receivers to clear along with a tendency to scramble. . .that carried on when he was a Raider. . .

During his four years as a Raider, Hostetler was voted to his only Pro Bowl, in 1994. He also led them to an impressive 42-24 playoff win over the Denver Broncos
in the 1993 season, throwing for 294 yards and three touchdowns in the
last NFL playoff game played in Los Angeles. He finished his career with
two seasons with the Redskins (1997 and 1998); during his last season
he spent much of his time on injured reserve and did not see any playing
    time.

Again you opt to swim the lamestream. . .

    I abhor inaccuracy, visceral rants & subjectivity. . .

your initial comment left no room to suppose you know what Reggie’s role is. . .as i maintained you placed the burden squarely (I bet you merely skin what you consider long text) on DA’s shoulders. . .

Oh, it’s not entirely on DA as you indicate; if all are allowed to interject input regarding personnel decisions (even you would surmise DA is “in on” personnel decisions regarding the remainder of the defense, offense & ST’s as well. . .) I would counter the DB coach, who has more “hands on” knowledge of how his charges are performing might offer compelling & perhaps convincing testimony towards the performance of DB’s. . .

Besides, that would be counter to your contention that Reg is not alone in offering personnel input. . .

But be mindful of this; DA doesn’t break down scouting material; reports, tape, etc.; nor does he go in the field to scout college or pro players. . .he is immersed in the process @ the conclusion of the Raiders season. . .

That’s the job of Reg & the scouting department. . .N’est-ce pas? Or, if you prefer Spanish, comprendo?

Ya need a healthy dose of perspective. . .

  • Howard Benner

That’s awfully tame for you. . .evolution?!

“Cornerback Chimdi Chekwa (knee) missed practice and Allen said he hoped to have him back before the start of the regular season.”
“Hoped to have him back” before the first game of the season.
I wonder if we’ll have enough bodies to field a full secondary?

I went neutral. Was gonna wear my raiders hat but my wife thought it might cause problems and asked me not to. She knows how I would be if someone gave me shlt.

IDGF about buczkwhatever. We were winning then. Could afford a miss or two. And I already explained JaWalrus came off the bench one December day and orchestrated a comeback win at Denver. That game alone might be 10 times what we may get out of Haydones entire career. Irresponsible, humiliating, terrible pick. Worst pick (when you consider ALL factors) ever for this franchise. We needed at least a healthy body that could contribute. Haydone has done neither. And likely won’t.

You win mr. Benner. I just expect da to do whatever it takes to make our DBS successful. If he has to put extra focus there, so be it. It’s not all on da, but with his job on the line I’d hope he puts extra care in that department. But I will agree, Reggie gets the groceries da has to cook with.

Read the SI MMQB article on the Oakland Raiders. . .very insightful. . .

I abhor it when fans chastise coaches for lack of knowledge or ability. . .Tarver & Greg Olson. . .

I imagine you blame Olson for NOT developing Joey Harrington (when he worked for the Lions). . .yet when he worked for Tampa Bay Josh freeman enjoyed relative success. . .after Olson’s departure? Not so much. . .

Olson hasn’t coached for any good NFL teams; Detroit (when Matt Millen was the GM?!), St. Louis in the aftermath of Mike Martz’s departure? Tampa Bay?! Jacksonville?! Now he is Oakland’s OC, finally surrounded with a modicum of actual NFL talent. . .

Tarver has a degree in biochemistry. . .if anything the players have a difficult time coming to grips with his intelligence. . .

You couldn’t carry Tarver’s book bag. . .do you have a degree? Olson earned a BA degree from Central Washington & a MS in Physical Education from WSU.. ..

DA earned a bachelor’s degree in management in 1995 and a
    master’s degree in kinesiology in 1998 (I think everyone knows he attended Texas A &M). . .

Reg earned a degree in bachelor’s degree in business administration while @ Tennessee. . .

Seems like a pretty smart group to me. . .

Stick around Jame Gumb will randomly fly off the handle and melt down soon its always good for a laugh.

Really? back away from the purple drink, fella. . .

There is A LOT more burden of responsibility on a QB & even more on a player drafted #1 overall. . .wasn’t russell arrested for his mishap? Where is he now? Wasted tub of goo. . .

Meanwhile, Buczkowski did hard time for his crimes. . .

BTW; I could GAF about your “IDGF. . .”

You are rendering a complete verdict on a player during training camp? Really?! In his second year?!

Russell also had fine pefroemances against Houston & Tampa Bay. . .but that all is shrouded in his purple drink/starting QB sleeping in team meetings/ woefully underperforming for the predominance of his career (cough!) legacy. . .as he is generally acclaimed as the first or secondsecond biggest (depending on the source) draft bust of all time. . .

Meanwhile, this all occurring on a team known for bad drafting since the new millennium began. . .with a few questionable picks in the previous century. . .

I suggest you visit your opthalmologist. . .you are certifiably myopic. . .

  • Howard Benner

Yes, DA is no Bill Parcels. . .either is Reg. . .so they need to combine forces to get the job done. . .turn this thing around!

I hope due diligence is applied to the entire team by whomever will help lead the Raiders from the malaise that has affected the team since. . .the mid 80′s?!

  • Howard Benner

LOL. . .I get so visceral in responding to his venom I thought i would turn the other cheek & offer a sleight of hand compliment. . .

    Not too sarcastic, eh?

  • http://batman-news.com accupolco gold aka elmo

    New postès.

  • TUCK YOU

You are bringing up degrees as if thats supposed to mean anything? You are bringing up Josh Freeman who last I checked is out of the league, and Tarver may be smart, but that has nothing to do with coaching ability, leadership skills, motivational skills, etc. Record breaking bad season under his watch. Olson sucks, Tarver sucks, DA sucks, and you freggin suck

  • Howard Benner

I am bringing up history. . .events that actually took place. . .consulted available info to corroborate my point. . .

I an so weary of bloggers emotional insistence on responding in a visceral, atavistic way to people they really know nothing about. . .thinking just because you want that to be the case you should be able to switch on the light & everything changes. . .

It doesn’t. . .if the talent isn’t in place there is no way fortunes can be reversed. . .yet you want to play the blame game. . game. . .with no facts to substantiate your emotional outburst. . .

Accountability started after the last super bowl appearance & the accompanying slide downhill. . .built a culture of toxic failure, thus no nucleus of draft picks & no incentive for talented FA’s to come to Oakland. . .only Gabril Wilson, Javon Walker, Kevin Boss. . etc. . .

you significantly suck. . .& have nary a clue in your empty brain cell deficient excuse of a brain. . .
