Packers 25, Raiders 7 — end of third quarter

Coach Dennis Allen allowed starting quarterback Matt Schaub to play into the third quarter. Not that it mattered much. The Raiders failed to score on Schaub’s lone drive or for the remainder of the quarter, for that matter.
Word came during the quarter that middle linebacker Nick Roach and cornerback Tarell Brown suffered concussions. Combined with the neck injury suffered by outside linebacker Sio Moore, this is proving to be quite a costly night for the Raiders.
It’s also apparent that things aren’t as rosy as Allen might have everyone believe. As a result, Allen now has to decide whether he wants to play his starters in the exhibition finale.
It’s customary for projected starters to miss most, if not all, of the final exhibition game as a means of ensuring their health for the regular-season opener.
Schaub completed 5 of 11 passes for 17 yards with the Packers starting defense on the field. Overall, he completed 13 of 27 for 110 yards.
Matt McGloin replaced Schaub later in the third quarter, but he hasn’t fared much better.
Backup running back Kory Sheets hurt an ankle on a 6-yard run that ended with him on the ground in pain and the ball in the arms of a Packers defender.
The Raiders committed seven penalties for 54 yards in the first half, when their starters were on the field the whole time. In other words, that’s another issue that Allen has to get fixed in a hurry.

    lmao ok

  • Return

Like I said you can never defend McGloin on his own merits. Why? Because he’s a scrub. You can’t hide behind Pryor forever.

  • 0ak R8rs

You do know he was drafted by Reggie, right?

  • 2romes

    Me too!

  • Gdog

Schaub starts. Every game. It was written in stone in MARCH! No turning back now!

  • Myopinion

    Man he’s a fkin idiot.

  • Al_is_theraiders

carr can win…mcshorty ehhh better than slaub

  • Myopinion

  • inonewordraider

we improved every preseason game=good coaching
the qb is the problem, can’t win in this league without a qb unless you have a dominant d which we don’t

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

He does channell MissTick and deserves that .

  • r8ter4evr

Al made a mistake keeping Marc Wilson as the starter
I liked the Schaub trade but at this point the underdog Matt has to get the nod
    It’s a no brainer
Don’t be stubborn DA better to be wrong than wait to long
    Pull Schauby

  • RaiderReloader

I think he will start opening game, but not all year if he plays like that.

    Wet dreams aside that is

  • aig-raiders

3 games. Murphy dropped a perfect td pass in the first game too. McG led us to the only td in that game.

  • lefty12

Not if the line doesn’t do a better job than they did tonight.

  • J Hill

  • AlDavisJr

    New post laddies

  • Gdog

This was already settled in March fellows. Just get out there and buy your Schaub jerseys and bend over to Reggie and DA!

  • Dakota

Improved? Defense gives up 22 points, offense sucks, special teams did nothing in return game. Bad penalties Yeah, lots of positives.

  • Morilla_00

I think Mark is going to have words after tonight. Count on it.

  • RaiderRo

    my thoughts exactly

  • The Big Banana

One thing’s for sure…our AAA team would kick ├áss.

  • RaiderReloader

    Its looking pretty grim.

I cant stand another year of flopping around, “tough guy penalties” that are really bone headed ones, etc

  • R8erEduc8er

    Jones is done?? Lol

  • Morilla_00

    mcshorty is 6’1.

  • Howard Benner

    Get a clue, Dakota. . .

They walk into the Raider facilities. . .compare them to those from where they came. . .& think, “I have to pay a state income tax, a user tax & play in these facilities. . .for A TERRIBLE team?

They all got paid elsewhere; with a chance to win. . .

These are football players. . .they want to get paid & win. . .not happening in Oakland. . .

There was a recent survey conducted of NFL players that indicated only 23% of them would play in Oakland. . .that enough for you?

Bad facilities, abhorrent tax scenario, losing team. . .

There are bad teams; usually with good facilities, better tax scenarios & a modicum of core player. . .save for Jax. . .then there’s Oakland. . .it’s not happening. . .

You ever been to the O.co? I have. . .more than three dozen times. . .compare that to, say, Sports Authority/Mile High, Arrowhead (which was built in ’72, only five years after the hole we call “the O. . .”), Century Link. . .on any other facility in the NFL. . .

I ask you this; if you were an NFL FA would you come to Oakland? Be honest. . .

  • Leonel Varela

who thinks Darren is going to be one of the surprise cuts this year?… I know Mark would be against but he shows no progress in the way he runs…

  • R8erEduc8er

    Criner is cr*p.

  • RediaR
  • RediaR

Granted, wasn’t much more than that.

  • aig-raiders

McG and Carr should battle for the starting spot with Trent as the steady 3rd string QB to provide Veteran leadership. As Phil Simms said, the throws are all there. The best one was over the db to Holmes in the side line.

  • RaiderGuy50

It’s because DA’s trying to learn from the Flynn debacle-lol

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

Palmer you mean? Or did you mean Flynn? Or are you talking out of your azz again? Well of course you are!

  • Steveopa

Butler has been our most consistent receiver he deserves a starting spot.

  • Al_is_theraiders

like last year…the year before also

  • Al_is_theraiders

  • Return

And for all you McGloin knobsukers you still can’t point to him as being nothing-so far- other than a scrub loser.

Enjoy your circle jerk. Keep telling the kids its just hair gel.

  • RediaR

    Pryor sucks.

  • Return

    McGloin sucks. All old news.

  • mikeschoice

Marks 200 million richer since he got team. He’s laughing all the way to the bank.

  • severeraiderz

Coincidentally around the time JV returned…..Things that make u say hmmm
