Raiders welcome back three players

Running back Kory Sheets, wide receiver Greg Jenkins and safety Larry Asante cleared waivers Wednesday, which means that they revert back to the Raiders injured-reserve list.
The Raiders waived all three under the injured designation. That meant that any team that claimed any of the three players within the 24-hour period for waived players was obligated to honor their salary and medical costs for the 2014 season.
The Raiders now are on the hook for everything. For now. They can either leave the players on injured reserve all season or release them once they recover from their injuries or reach a settlement.

So how are we all gonna feel if Pryor walks off a winner Thursday night?

  • JLofty

Don’t care. I like TP. He was a good kid. Too bad he wasn’t a good QB…

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

Like we lost. A meaningless game. Not a QB.

  • TrevJo

Fortunate to have seen something so rare

  • DJ Johnny

It kind of adds a little sauce to the pasta w Pryor expected to play the whole game…against the team that didn’t want him anymore…in our stadium.

  • JLofty

Dude, your bumming me out. Knock it off…

Its my mom’s birthday. A day of celebration…

  • marks hair

Just don’t want títs to ruin the new Carr in sad and desperate attempt to save his job.

  • TrevJo

A: What’s the difference between God and Terrelle Pryor?

A: God doesn’t pretend to be Terrelle Pryor.

  • DJ Johnny

Preseason or not, you know Pryor wants this one. A lot at stake too…for him I think.

  • JLofty

Really? Man I REALLY wish we could pull a Anquan Boldin type move and get some PLAYMAKERS!!!!!

  • Return

    Too late

  • Howard Benner

My mom’s in Chicago tending to her gravely ill brother, my writing mentor. . .i don’t need any more negativity. . .

    Get back on your meds. . .it’s 85 where I reside. . .

  • disqus_yeZNegncsV

My fear is that he senses Mark’s and DA’s and RM’s panic over yet another off-season qb acquisition that is struggling, that he senses the fans’ anger and panic and that he’ll press, hold onto the ball too long, try to force things, and get creamed.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

    What was the question?

  • TrevJo

Q: What’s the difference between a battery and Terrelle Pryor?

    A: A battery has a positive side.

  • TrevJo

    oops! edited

  • Howard Benner
  • JLofty

Yeah I don’t think he’s quite ready yet either.
Hope he gets up to speed soon though cuz he’s going in sooner rather than later me thinks…

  • marks hair

    Oh yeah.. he’ll get hurt

  • disqus_yeZNegncsV

It’s meaningless. He is, after all, just their 3rd string qb, if he sticks at all.

  • DJ Johnny

C’mon now. All joking aside, we ALMOST won the Indy and NYG game with him at QB. Inknow close doesn’t count but he wasn’t the worst QB in the world.

I admit to souring on him with the way he went out….with the bitterness and all that.

  • marks hair

if you can’t handle negativity, it’s probably not smart to be on a Raider blog..
positive news happens with the Raiders once every 10 20 years

  • Raideraholic

I would give you more than 1 upvote if I could. How many FK’N stupid decisions can 1 team make?

  • marks hair

Idk.. I thought things would get better just because we would have a man who isn’t in his eighties running the team.

  • TrevJo

Almost beat Indy… except that Pryor choked at the end of both halves.

Almost beat the Giants… except that Pryor had a passer rating of 40.9 and generated only 3 points in the entire second half.

  • JLofty

Perhaps they are a little better. At least we aren’t mortgaging the future to have a $#itty team now…

  • DJ Johnny

I know… but still. I don’t want him coming back to Oakland and walking off the field having played ‘his best game’ of the season.

  • TrevJo

Anything that gives McGloin a chance to save our season is fine by me

  • Howard Benner

Typical; you cut & choose what to use from the entirety of what I wrote. . .

Very selective of you. . .are you sure you’re not a closet Seaslug fan?

  • Al_is_theraiders

    injury settle…

  • DutchRaid

We just give Return a hard time…him and Priest Hate on McGloin our franchise “backup” qb just because people think Pryor is not a very good QB. I rode high on the Pryor train…but he regressed so bad and didn’t look very good his last start. Pryor has not had a very good preseason…

  • DJ Johnny

Makes you wonder how many games we would’ve won if we’d had a QB…like even a Fitzpatrick or something.

  • marks hair

Sure we are.. its hard to drag a team out of the gutter. Back to back 8-8 seasons was a way better starting point.

  • DutchRaid

    Jenkins to the PS?

  • Al_is_theraiders

stevie is 3x faster than james jones…

  • TrevJo

Uh no, just one of Pryor’s biggest critics for years. Never thought he brought anything to the table except delusion from some fans.

  • Raideraholic

I think most of us thought the same thing.
It just seems so clear. Man up everyone in charge in Raider land. You had good intentions on Shaub being in a new environment and returning to form. NOT THE CASE, cut bait now.
Start McGloin until O- Line Gel’s and we get either a wideout to step up or we pick up someone good next year, THEN give Carr the reigns and most importantly a fighting chance.

  • Al_is_theraiders

he will run laps around tarvers defense

  • BigBenRexor

Has anyone ever been claimed off of the Injury Waiver? Might be a good way to PS players you don’t want to lose on the wire. Which would be one of the smartest things Reggie has ever done in his tenure. But then again, the waiver wire and practice squad is his area of expertise.

  • marks hair

Can we please quit praising fatboy for dumping bad contracts? a monkey could do that and it wouldn’t take a monkey a year to figure out which contracts needed to go..
I don’t think a monkey would have doubled down on huff seymore and branch either..

  • DJ Johnny

Nope. Which is why I don’t want him having some glorious game vs the Raiders…on our turf. Preseason or not…says the over reactive fan in me.

  • Howard Benner

My full statement. . .just so you know. . .

“Again, means nothing; Pryor gave the Raiders what they needed @ the time; escapability & the specter of extending plays. . .when the league caught his act; no ability to read defenses & his other myriad weaknesses McGlovin became a much better option. . .kinda like a real QB. . .”

What I rote was a pro McGlovin post; nothing reinforcing any belief that Pryor is a capable QB. . .

I expect much better from you. . .

Q: How many Raider bloggers does it take to incorrectly attribute another Raider bloggers post?

    Only one; TrevJo. . .

  • Al_is_theraiders

    ehh…can get a better wr in draft…

  • Dan78

    Just a meaningless preseason game…..

  • DutchRaid
  • Dan78

I think the Cheatriots claimed a TE from the Giants a few years ago……crickets…..

  • TrevJo

I get it, you’re saying that Pryor had some usefulness as a surprise element, more or less. I won’t even give him that much credit though. I think we just played against some teams playing lousy football while he happened to be our QB.

  • Purvisman/Eternal Optimist

That’s why I call Return ‘Miss Tick Lite’. Just a continuation of Missy’s blather about Pryor’s ‘Otherworldly’ talents vs the washed up never was Palmer.

  • TrevJo

OK, no more Pryor jokes. This one’s for Dakota.

Q: What’s the difference between baseball and Darren McFadden?

A: In baseball, if you’re caught stealing, you’re out.

  • DJ Johnny

You’re exactly right, but I don’t wanna turn on bspn and see that the “story” of the game was not Derek Carr but rather a blown out of proportion piece on Pryor exacting his “revenge”.
