    Schaub is a downer.

  • 0ak R8rs

    New post.

  • Elliot

Hey come to the new post!

  • Theghostronin79

    As in the “Elder Scrolls”?

  • LittleKing

Yessir. 100%. I am so tired of being cautious and watching other teams like Seattle and Indy take chances and getting results immediately. We are losers. We have a guy who can obviously give us a better chance to win. I am as tired as you after 12 years (really 31 years) of not winning it all. The time is now.

There are a couple of different schools of thought…one says you ease a guy in, you have him sit for a few games and then work him in.

Then there is the school of though that you and several others in this thread are from which is throw him in right away let him swim.

    two different opinions….

  • 909RaiderLifer

Sorry, dude…I did not intend to p in your Cherrios…

  • http://cosmicdanceband.com/ SilverandBlack666

I cant argue that. A lot of folks here think we should start him in NY. I myself would ease him in but I am not a coach LOL

  • Theghostronin79

    I would be too.

  • Elliot

I see both sides and I am sure rookie mistakes will be made but man the guy looks like a natural like we have not seen in some time…

  • Raiders for Life

I totally agree with this, I’ve waited 12 years to start winning again. If the Raiders have the QB of the future I can wait one more. Next offseason that will be a huge problem the Raiders won’t have to deal with. Start dealing with the other huge holes in this team. #1 WR would be a good start in FA.

  • Theghostronin79

    I concur

  • Theghostronin79

Defense won’t be stacking that damn box anymore…At least not on EVERY damn play.

  • JOn Wooah

what about his KR ,and long run yest?? oh thats right YOU calm down pal

  • Dallasraiders

    Hello??

  • Howard Benner

    LOL

Go with the offense. . .keep the uniforms. . .

  • Howard Benner

Time for a new blog roster. . .don’t be going all Kumbaya. . .

I thrive on the contentious banter. . .

  • Howard Benner

you intended to hit the floor?!

man. . .clean as you go. . .

  • Howard Benner

Here’s something from outside the envelope. . .trade Schaub to the Lambs (silence on that front;perhaps that explains Schaub’s “personal issue(s). . .”) & bring in David Carr to fill the third QB spot. . .

  • Howard Benner

So trade Schaub to the Lambs & sign David Carr for the then vacant third string QB slot. . .

A bit of a joke. . .but when one ponders the intangibles. . .

  • Howard Benner

    Will that result in fisticuffs?

pay per view or public flogging?

  • Howard Benner

To be real; in a fourth pre season game. . .no comparison to the real deal. . .

Wait until the re-match @ Century Link on Oct. 28th. . .I’m already getting hit with “reality” from the locals. . .

They didn’t take too well to getting embarrassed; even in a pre season game. . .

    BTW; I live in Seattle. . .

  • Howard Benner

Jason Kidd? Last I heard he was scheduled for a long stay in Milwaukee. . .LOL. . .

Just have fun with it, bro. . .

  • Howard Benner

Why profess a desire to watch the (Dis)Chargers in the first place?

    Just jesting @ your post’s paradoxical theme. . .

go back to the 1969 unis; yellow pants, powder blue jerseys, white helmets with the number on the side. . .

I have to be honest; I have a rather large collection of NFL authentic helmets & in that collection are Ladanian Tomlinson & Phillip Rivers ‘old schools” with the numbers on the side. . .

Along with a Dolts Reggie Wayne, a Cards Kurt Warner & NINE Raider helmets; Cliff Branch, CWood (admittedly three DMAC’s two of reverse color schemes. . .Warren Sapp & a generic Riddel authentic. . .& a Marcus Allen. . .one replica (a Christmas present; one doesn’t go, “gee, that’s nice, but I only roll with authentics. . .don’t treat it like fruit cake. . .that would ruin Christmas dinner. . .)

  • Howard Benner

    (Dis)Chargers. . .

  • Howard Benner

Sure had a fun Friday @ work; wearing my D.Moore authentic Nike gamer I absolutely harassed the locals on “Seahawk Friday;” claimed the first of my week long free espressos from the poor barista @ Tully’s, Pete Carroll’s exclamation of “getting ripped” by the Raiders festooned on my white board. . .one of my favorite days @ work. . in the immortal words of “blackholepriest, period!”

However, when the other shoe dropps on October 28th @ Centurylink. . .I hope the quote “revenge is a dis best served cold” don’t wax prophetically. . .

  • Howard Benner

Remit the Schaub as instructor statement; rather to learn from his example. . .assimilate NFL defenses. . .nuances of the position. . .

Don’t think Schaub can “teach” him how to play the position. . .perhaps how NOT to. . .

The arm talent Carr possesses & his ability to throw the ball without having a solid base underneath him all the time are not part of Schaub’s skill set. . .

  • Howard Benner

I think the Jets will be more preoccupied with inserting (i love inserting) their blitz package while covering for their substandard secondary. . .

If the Raiders have any success running the ball there is bound to be a Raider receiver running uncovered through eh jets secondary. . .more than once. . .

  • Howard Benner

The Raiders sold out all last season’s games

Please, put into perspective what actually occurred Thursday Night @ the “O. . .”

This was a pre season game. . .the game will stand to more properly represent what intensity the defending Super Bowl Champs “DIDN’T” bring. . .

Besides, what happens if the Seaslugs choose to play their starting offense the entire first quarter? An offense that scored TD’s on 11 of their 13 pre season drives?

We would be lamenting the Raider defense instead of puffing our (well, your) chest out regarding, & I quote “just carved(ing) up the super bowl champs!”

A little perspective, please. .if the Seaslugs needed more incentive to beat the Raiders in the October 28th rematch in a regular season tilt @ CenturyLink, a game that will be more representative of the Seaslugs true nature, in front of a hostile crowd, I don’t know what would. . .

So please remit your hyperbole. . .it deflects the reality factor. . .

Oh, & your revisionist history regarding the comparison of flynn to Schaub also smacks of fiction. . remember the hit Flynn received against the cowgirls? the horrid performances against the ‘Aints & the Sugar Bears? C’mon, man. . .Chris Carter would be calling you out right about now. . .

Schaub certainly sucked; his lack of enthusiasm & laconic attitude have turned many off; his lack of quickness & seeming hangover following his “pick six” record 2013 (one against the Seaslugs. . .a game they shouldn’t have lost) are harbingers of what could have transpired here as a Raider; but Flynn, whose acquisition I was DEAD AGAINST (wasn’t for the Schaub transaction as well) is where should be “dead & gone. . .”

Here’s one for ya; trade Schaub to the now QB deficient lambs for the obligatory “conditional draft pick” & sign david Carr for the then vacant Raiders third string spot? That surely would benefit both Carr & McGlovin. . .

The last part of my transmission was a bit tongue in cheek; but not entirely. . .
