Raiders bring back DE C.J. Wilson

Share

After looking outside the organization since the start of free agency, the Raiders brought back one of their own Wednesday with the signing of defensive end C.J. Wilson.

The Raiders made no official announcement, but Wilson did the honors on his Twitter account.

Wilson (6-foot-3, 300 pounds) played in 16 games with seven starts last season, registering 34 tackles and a pair of sacks. Wilson also had returned a fumble 21 yards on Dec. 14 against Kansas City.

Since free agency began, the Raiders signed 10 free agents _ none of whom played with the team last season. Wilson was the first free agent brought back to the team.

Wilson joins Justin Tuck, Benson Mayowa, Denico Autry and Shelby Harris as defensive ends under contract for the Raiders in 2015.

Let’s all take a moment and ask the scheduling Gods to be a little kinder to us this year!

  • Marley Bob

Yes, but his size-speed alone can allow him to contribute earlier, you know redzone and jumpball stuff..

  • ncraider

The drop passes rate doesn’t bother you?

  • Marley Bob

    Dante Fowler & Anthony Chickillo

  • TrevJo

Pre-final grades for our FA signings

that reminds me….does anyone see GA III finding a fit and making any kind of impact?

  • Gdog

They should just share the new stadium with the Vikings. Bam.. Gdog buys season tickets!

  • Pass the Kool-Aid, Bro

I am really starting to like Better Call Saul, too!

  • Gdog

    Stop watching Faux News.

  • michael todd

    in what way?

  • HELLSBELLS

    Tough schedule this year too.

  • Marley Bob

To some degree yes, but every guy in round 2 has an issue, the kid may be worth the risk…unless he really has stone hands which is not what I’ve read, maybe concentration problems?

  • HELLSBELLS

    DHB 2.0

  • Goldie7

    ur fvcking with us.

  • Pass the Kool-Aid, Bro

Sopranos was awesome, my favorite episode was the one where they buried the football in the practice field!

  • HELLSBELLS

Lofton will be fine in a 4-3.

  • michael todd

14 out of 16 games every year a pre-determined going back to the 2002 re-alignment. The other 2 games are determined depending on how we place in the division.

  • Raideraholic

Yes, but the order of those games can be very critical.

  • Goldie7

    looks accurate.

  • Jack Hammer

would you rather go 3-13 against an easy schedule or a tough one ??

  • Pass the Kool-Aid, Bro

Lost had the WORST last episode ever!

  • HELLSBELLS

    Tough

  • Raideraholic

Would you rather eat head cheese or blood sausage?

  • Marley Bob

I’d like to go with Torrey Smith 2.0

  • michael todd

true……last season was brutal starting on the east coast, flying back home, another east coast game, then on to London

  • HELLSBELLS

    At new stadium pricing?

  • Jack Hammer

that would be the “feel good” story of our season imo

  • RAY NJ

Has Terrell Brown signed with anyone yet?

  • HELLSBELLS

    no

  • Pass the Kool-Aid, Bro

It’s “Bucky F$&king Dent” in Boston, by the way.

  • Jack Hammer

LOL – neither. gun to my head? give me the both on the same plate

  • RAY NJ

    Him and Taiwan…ball control issues.

  • BigBenRexor

I wish he would just to keep him away from coming back.

  • RAY NJ

    Bring him back?

  • Raideraholic

If there is any team that needs to start off with a favorable schedule It’s the Raiders. If by some miracle we start with a decent record we can take that momentum to the more difficult games and see what happens.

(not that any game is “easy” for us lol)

  • RAY NJ

What do you expect from any of our DBs with that garbage pass rush we had?

  • Oak R8rs

Derek. But, sure. If he will allow it.

  • The Ghost of Dave Casper

You need to trademark that sh!t. Put it on some high quality, soft cotton Hanes t-shirts and hawk them at tailgates when they finally move to L.A. Then you need to pray that Reggie never leaves. Or they hire another Reggie. Good for the bottom line.

  • TrevJo

If there is any team that needs [every kind of break imaginable] It’s the Raiders.

  • The Ghost of Dave Casper

You’re slowly sliding to the Reggie Dark Side. There’s still hope for you, Skywalker.

something we should consider from last season is that we played several close games going into the 4th qtr against good teams despite our lack-luster roster and coaching staff. We can tip those scales in our favor this year with more competent coaching alone.

  • marks hair

Allen is bad and way overpaid. D

  • marks hair

    We need a real receiver. A #1guy.

  • BigBenRexor

Are you talking about the trademarking of signing terrible players or the hashtag? Because I think Reggie already has a copyright on terrible player contracts.

  • DutchRaid

What a Moron…I hope this ruins his draft status…so we can draft him in the second round! He isn’t a moron b/c he is a smot poker, it is that he got caught…

  • jesusraiderjim

We get breaks. JC Shoulder. McFadden Lis Franc. Street we foot. MLB head. Etc. J/K every team get injuries.

  • marks hair

    3 times.. he’s a moron.

  • Marley Bob

Yes, but we can’t control that so just figuring out 2nd round options.
Perriman looks like Torrey Smith to me, not exactly a go to guy but a dangerous weapon
