Woodson & Woodson: Hall of Famers everywhere in this Raiders secondary outfit

Share
Oakland Raiders' Charles Woodson (24) watches his team take on the Arizona Cardinals in the fourth quarter of an NFL preseason football game, Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015, at O.co Coliseum in Oakland, Calif. The Cardinals won, 30-23. (D. Ross Cameron/Bay Area News Group)

In case you missed it over the weekend, Jerry McDonald spent a little time talking to Rod about Charles and Charles about Rod. What other team has this kind of Hall of Fame braintrust at its disposal? Worth a read…

and the oline is holding up with just 5 blockers…

  • inonewordraider

Havent noticed but papa was raving about roberts blocking, i like that, team game

  • SB3

Throw in Walford, Taiwan out of the backfield, Reece quietly being the 3rd leading receiver on the team, Latavius running the rock. Pick your poison.

  • SlvrnBlck478

That throw was right on the money, just like the Walford TD pass the week before.

  • 1960AutumnWind

Wouldn’t you be mad if you thought you were the best and someone picked another guy before you?

  • Twinkle

Ohhh…and anyone in here that is having issues with my choice of Gurley over Amari in the phenom of the month category…get a clue.

  • SB3

Holmes stuck out his hands and the ball dropped right in.

  • SB3

Gurley is deserving every bit of praise he’s receiving. Already one of the best backs in the league.

  • RaiderCODE

I was a BigCat supporter but not anymore.. nah we got the right guy – our RB’s a good too…

  • RaidingTexas

That will be quite a collapse by Denver to make that happen. Anything’s possible. And I certainly would love for it to happen. But it seems improbable at this point.

  • SlvrnBlck478

Give credit to Musgrave. The reason I was excited he was hired, he knows how to use his personnel.

  • 1960AutumnWind

They are both good but Gurley is doing unheard of things…. Still would rather have Cooper with Gurleys injury history.

  • RaiderCODE

was sick – right in front of my section – the whole place just gasped and then erupted…

  • SB3

Weird, I CAN’T wait for Sundays now, last year I dreaded Sundays. Actually, sorry. I don’t even want to think about last year anymore. On to better times.

  • BORN/BRED/SILVER/BLACK

Absolutely. Raiders above all else. I think we’re poised for a championship run at KU. A good mix of elite freshman and productive upper-classmen. We’ll see what happens. Still waiting on Diallo, though.

  • SB3

And on fuggin 3 and 2!! That’s Raider football right there!!

  • Duct tape

Round of applause for DC being lights out the past two games and more or less this season. Lots of people claimed QBs dont grow leaps n bounds from year one to two. Those people are looking pretty effing wrong.

Big bright future for this team. Musgrave actually looks like a real OC.

  • RaiderCODE

The dark days are over. Finally. It feels great. And this is only the beginning – I think we’re gonna do some serious damage this year… not even halfway through the season we’re just now hitting our stride..

  • SaintKaufman

Holmes….sigh. I will only say that he can make the difficult catches.

  • Twinkle

I was right there with you…..I love me my D……I’m way cool with the Coop pick…..I was wrong…..The kid is a gem….So is Gurley…..hat is off to the kid….he’s friggin brilliant but I’m way good with our guys…..Tay was a stud yesterday….and Amari was Amari……..we won…..it matters.

  • RaiderCODE

    goin for the throat

  • SB3

WR was a huge need. Both teams got great players. Just glad we were one of those teams.

  • Ronin559

Gurley is already a top 5 RB in the league, but Cooper is inching his way up the WR list too. WRs are harder to find compared to RBs and RBs have a smaller shelf-life compared to WRs. Cooper make Carr better and I bet the Rams would trade Gurley for Cooper with the WRs they have, but I would not say the same for the Raiders.

  • Twinkle

Me too…..but I get bumps when Gurley gets the ball…….freak.

  • Rico Stifler

Yeah. I think our two biggest needs right now are long term answers at LT and FS.

  • Thec

Bro I was keeping it simple and now you go and throw in those other guys…Wow….

  • Twinkle

Especially after last night’s arse whooping they put on GB.

  • Thec

YES….You man is making us proud.

  • Ronin559

Both team did well the last few drafts, Mack-Donald and Cooper-Gurley. Could lead to an all LA Super Bowl in the near future. LOL

  • Thec

    Damn straight!!!

  • BuckeyeRaider

    New Post people.

We’re looking ahead t Pittsburgh already. Quit dwelling in the past!

  • Rico Stifler

Raiders shoulda offered our 2015 2nd and 2016 1st to move up to 9 or 10 and get Gurley….

  • SB3

Just goes to show how far this offense has come. I still have to pinch myself.

  • Twinkle

The 4th Q drop not to your liking ?…….Somehow Musgrave has to get him the ball in impossible situations…….not that big a deal right ?

  • Ronin559

Those 16 game DC played as a rookie are really paying off this year. Im glad DA did not screw that up for us.

  • Rico Stifler

What about the future? Need long term answers at LT and FS. Need immediate answers at RG.

  • SaintKaufman

    Classic Holmes!

  • Rico Stifler

He tried but DC is just took good.

  • Ronin559

let me enjoy this one another day before I move on.

  • Duct tape

So right my man. It was hard to watch but we are getting paid back in full.

  • Twinkle

WTF?…..we’ve had dozens of ‘great’ QB’s.

  • Twinkle

My sagging head almost hit the floor…..how in god’s name could you drop that lollipop ?……..we obviously need large leads.

  • R8drTahoe in SF

Maybe, but it is undeniable that Hayden is doing a good job out there now. He’s getting better every game and that’s really all that can be asked of anybody.

  • Ronin559

Yeah, props to DC for forcing the staff to make a choice. Johnny Football could have done the same in Cleveland if he had the professionalization, dedication, and work ethic that DC has.

  • Ronin559

Nah, Edwards is starting to be a contributor, and that 1st round pick next year will fill a whole in the secondary.

  • GREY

not black not white…tough for most to comprehend…not sure why

  • HE DOES NO WRONG WHATSOEVER NOW
ME AND MOST OTHER SANE BLOGOLES LAUGHING HARD NOW

  • who wanted his head? he is still here right?

  • Twinkle

You hear the pop he put on Marshall ?……..it was on the sideline to boot.
Mr Marshall lost a lot of interest in the game after it.

  • not on this board!
