The Raiders claimed a pair of players off waivers on Friday and waived defensive end Damontre Moore and cornerback SaQwan Edwards.
Joining the roster are linebacker Lenny Jones, a San Leandro High product who was recently waived by the 49ers, and former New York Giants defensive back Tramain Jacobs.
Jones is a rookie who signed with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent in May but was released Thursday. He played collegiately at Nevada, notching 19 sacks over four seasons to rate fifth on the school’s all-time list.
Jacobs has played in eight career games over two seasons with the Baltimore Ravens and the Giants, recording three special teams tackles.
Moore’s time with the Raiders turns out to be a short one. He signed with Oakland in May for no guaranteed money after splitting last season between the Giants and Miami Dolphins. The Giants cut him after a reported locker room altercation. He got into an on-field scrap Thursday with running back Jalen Richard.
Edwards, who was waived injured, spent the first 15 games of last season on the practice squad before being activated for the season finale. He had missed the past three practices with an undisclosed injury.
