ALAMEDA — Jalen Richard’s return to the Raiders practice field was a welcome site for offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave.

“It really reminded us of what we’ve missed the last two weeks of practice with him not being there,” Musgrave said.

This isn’t a projected starter for the Raiders that he’s talking about. Rather it’s an undrafted rookie running back. That tells you what type of impression the Southern Miss product has made despite missing the first two preseason games with a minor knee injury.

“For a while he was doing something spectacular each and every day in practice,” Mustrave said of Richard. “It’s good to have him back out there.”

Tuesday was Richard’s first practice in two weeks since injuring his knee. He said he’s not sure yet if he’ll play Saturday against the Tennessee Titans but he’s feeling good.

“I definitely feel good enough to be out there as far as the intensity standpoint,” Richard said. “It’s a day-by-day thing. I don’t know if I’m playing Saturday or not, but I’ll give it another day and see how I feel.”

Coaches and fans who have heard the reports have been itching to see him play. If it doesn’t happen Saturday, he should see plenty of time in the preseason finale Sept. 1.

Richard said a large part of why he missed the past two weeks was so he could put his best foot forward when he does finally see game action and gets a chance to show what he can do.

He’s had to take the tough path in his attempt to make this roster. He came in on a rookie tryout and earned a free agent contract. Without even playing in a game, Richard’s received enough positive reviews to make his chances at the 53-man roster realistic.

“You’re really just pushing every day to make plays, just to be seen,” Richard said of his mindset as an undrafted player. “That’s the whole thing — to be seen, be seen. Let them know that every day, at the end of the day, that you can play at this level. It feels good to be back out there.”

    Dipchit Riff
Yes I did have partial season tickets the last few years
Partially because of commitments with my out of town son
This year I called again and they weren’t offering them so I bought the whole season, probably won’t go to every game again

    Not about the money moron

  • R8der4evr

Morning bro and Drew Brees ain’t the same quarterback under pressure.

  • HELLSBELLS

Trying to beat Oakland to the punch. Oakland going to sue to keep naming rights.

  • HELLSBELLS

You forgot ginger transgenders and water benders.

  • R8der4evr

This whole thing won’t en well for Mark Davis you watch
Just remember how everything went down in Los Angeles when you all thought we were moving there to

  • Born With a Patch

Why would Oakland waste money to sue when they don’t want to spend any public money on the team at all?

  • R8RCatDave

Anyone ever watched the HBO series Game of Thrones, its very good

  • HELLSBELLS

No never heard of it. lol

  • HELLSBELLS

Think PSL might be a hard sell in Vegas also.

  • HELLSBELLS

    Why did Cleveland?

  • SlvrnBlck478

Belicheat’s poor talent evaluation is really going to show once he loose’s Brady. Trades a 2014 4th rd starting C for a conditional 7th? As much as I hate Brady, he covers a ton of weakness’s on that roster.

  • SlvrnBlck478

Difference being, Oakland isn’t competing with other franchises in LV.

  • Rikster/Kowalski/

    What a scumbag…

  • Mike_Trail

This is actually true. Cant tell you how many meetings I have been in that were planning for other meetings…

  • RaidingTexas

I thought you guys out there on the west coast hated those early kickoffs? There’s always a bunch of moaning and groaning on here about them.

  • Mike_Trail

Almost got kicked out of Soldier Field for pizzing in the sink….

  • Rikster/Kowalski/

    No you?

  • marks hair

    You’re thinking of the players.

  • HELLSBELLS

    How about electric football.

  • RaidingTexas

We have bloggers from the team?

  • Gdog

No. But I don’t enjoy missing 1/5th of the game standing in line to flookin pee.

  • R8RCatDave

Saw a trailer, read a review, seems worth a shot, but have to fit it in between Dr Phil and law and order reruns

  • I love them!

I get up early everyday so by the time of kickoff I have been up for a few hours already waiting and betting.

  • ..are players are that dumb?

  • Born With a Patch

All I have to say is: Emilia Clarke

  • Born With a Patch

Yeah, like when Brady went down week one and the pats made it to the playoffs with Matt freakin Cassel… Bill B made Brady, not the other way around. Don’t get it twisted

  • HELLSBELLS

Bad feeling if we do go to Vegas there will be no home field advantage. Also if we struggle the place will be half empty. Also PSL will be a hard sell.

  • nolarick

You’re not right, but I like your narrative better.

  • Born With a Patch

Imagine how sad it would be if they had to put tarps up?… Oh wait

  • marks hair

We had the home field advantage versus the Cardinals.

  • nolarick

I’ll be tailgating before you’re awake. Can’t drink all day if you don’t start early.

  • HELLSBELLS

They could fill those seats easy. Also hope they would not build such a poor design as Mount Davis.

  • HELLSBELLS

Can pick up preseason tickets dirt cheap.

  • marks hair

It doesn’t mean people in the area won’t pay for regular season tickets. People actually like the regular season the little more.

  • Born With a Patch

Cleveland wanted football, obviously since they have a franchise. The City of Oakland doesn’t care if they lose the team. They just pay lip service to their constituents about trying to keep the team here

  • HELLSBELLS

You have five seasons to catch up on. Worth it.

  • Guest123
  • Born With a Patch

Why? PSLs are an investment and plenty are willing to invest in Vegas. It’s not like you need to have PSL to go to the game

  • Guest123

    Ish is getting real

  • HELLSBELLS

Just saying you guys keep saying all the casinos will buy up the PSL’s, and comp tickets. Doubt many Raider fans will get them. Most will not be used.

  • yes you can – just have to pace yourself….

  • r8dercain

    Good morning fellas

  • marks hair

If they offer Raider comp tickets on flight and room packages out of California I think a few fans might plan trips. And if you don’t think the NFL can sell out stadiums based on the product alone you’re kidding yourself.

  • How is your morning Cain?

  • r8dercain

    Good an yours?

  • HELLSBELLS

Why did Oakland not sell out then?

  • Very good so far.

  • r8dercain

    Saturday cometh

  • HELLSBELLS

    Raiders aint comping squat.

  • nolarick

    GEAUX TIGERS!
