Here’s a recap of what was written today that you can check out on our new updated web site:

Scan the Raiders roster and there’s a lot of good, young talent. But it’s thin on veterans.

That’s where 32-year-old safety Reggie Nelson comes into play. Nelson’s entering his 10th season, but his first with the Raiders after spending the past six years in Cincinnati. That didn’t stop him from being announced recently as one of the team’s four captains.

“To be voted amongst your peers, that’s a great thing,” Nelson said Wednesday as the Raiders held their first practice of the regular season in preparation of Sunday’s opener against the New Orleans Saints.

Read the rest of that story here:

Also, here’s coach Jack Del Rio on the reasoning behind placing Mario Edwards Jr. on injured reserve with the intent to bring him back midseason.

Del Rio also reflected on his Superdome memories, which included a botched celebration after returning a fumble for a touchdown.

Having a rematch if the SB for the opening game is asinine.

  • I’m not a Tebow fan but hard to say “he never did anything in the nfl”…

  • NFL practice squad salaries are now announced this year at $117,300 minimum.
No per diem on gameday as they don’t often travel.
    Not bad work.

  • 2nd year in the NFL he made the Pro Bowl, won a playoff game and set some NFL records.

  • I don’t mind it, gives the losing team a shot a redemption to start the new season.

Good morning from denver…plane leaves for Nola at 9am..
So much broncos talk..news team has bronco gear on..reporter wearing cowboy hat an boots..isht here is different

This is part of the reason why I am so adamant about the Raiders getting a legit 65k seat stadium in Oakland. The home field advantage in a place like Denver is real. They get 76k intense fans every week. That is both an economic and home field advantage that the Raiders need to match, or at least come close to matching.

its all about clicks on links!

  • Bay Area is the place that is different in all honesty.
Homery news stations and people wearing the local attire on news set is kind of the norm around the country.

  • Lowdown_in_Beijing

    Rudy! Rudy! Rudy!

Or, PS players could go onto to finish their BA, take the LSAT, do three years of law school at Columbia, Harvard or Yale, and get a coveted position at Townsend and Townsend in SF and work 80 hours a week for a 100K.

  • I lived in Denver for a year and a half, they are diehard but fickle fans… everyone goes all out leading up to game day but if they lose, thats all you’ll hear about that week leading up to the next game, Fire em all! I lived there when Jake Plummer and rat face were there, I could hardly listen to the radio!

You think 65,000 RAIDER fans will be at every game if LV happens?

  • R8der4evr

Easily done by the schedule maker and so is sending us back east 3 out of the first 4 games.

  • R8erEduc8er

$7K a week (an NFL season, not 52 weeks in a year). Not too shabby.

  • R8der4evr

    Right?
He sure gets dissed more than some QB’s who have never done anything.

  • That’s a good point.

  • diff

I think a big part is with sharing the market with the 49ers. Many band wagon fans jump to whoever is better. Also, Denver probably doesn’t have a huge TV market, do they? I would think a little better than Vegas but not sure.

  • raiderfanmikep

just put the tarp on upper deck. max out at 50k. just make it loud!

  • DIRT-LOT FOOTBALL

    “A BEAUTIFUL BRONCO SUNRISE”
DEPENDS ON WHICH END OF THE HORSE YOUR LOOKIN AT !!

  • Born With a Patch

If people ramble on long enough, eventually they say something that catches a buzz and they get too much attention. He’s swinging and swinging in hopes of hitting on one out the park

    Hi

  • Rik/From/LA/To/The/Bay

    Strike

  • Dakota

No, that is why I favor building a real stadium in Oakland. Too bad Oakland isn’t interested in keeping the Raiders.

  • Rik/From/LA/To/The/Bay

What’s goin on in Oakland? Talks?

  • hwnrdr

It seems that way…but I wonder If the A’s get out of the way, will something happen? Who knows…

  • Rik/From/LA/To/The/Bay

    Sounds about right…

  • Born With a Patch

    Certainly not city officials

  • raiderfanmikep

need to start winning max out stadium this year. next year remove tarp and pack that. A’s leave and public support pushes for new stadium. winning solves alot of problems

  • raiderfanmikep

only which moving company to use. Mayflower or Global

  • Time to go.
    Enjoy the game tonight.
    Later Raiders.

  • Rik/From/LA/To/The/Bay

Mayflower seems to be the one eh?

  • raiderfanmikep

i think they are the official moving company of the NFL lol

  • Rik/From/LA/To/The/Bay

    Hey …… Don’t leave us with Riff…

  • Rik/From/LA/To/The/Bay

    I know lol

  • 2013 Raiders averaged 40K a game, and only sold 80% of tickets.
Browns were the same 3-13, and sold 97% of tickets and averaged close to 60K a game.

  • Rik/From/LA/To/The/Bay

    What’s new?

  • raiderfanmikep

attendance problems will be at both stadiums. atleast LV will be new. Mark can always say screw it im moving to Levi for now but once A’s leave. back to Oakland for a brand new stadium! just use Levi to stay in bay area with long term plan for own home

  • Ken SnakeLer

I heard that it’s the first time it’s happened since 67

  • Ken SnakeLer

FINALLY some real NFL football. RAIDER UP, fellas. Gonna be a great weekend!!!

  • Rik/From/LA/To/The/Bay

    Yep…. Go Raiders

  • raiderfanmikep

rooting for Panthers. and san diego. that will knock denver and KC to 0-1 out of the gate

  • jesusraiderjim

Live ya Bro. Quit crying about out tough schedule.

  • Ken SnakeLer

Panthers should happen but KC has OWNED SD for the last few years. I think I heard the stat that SD is averaging like 9 points a game against KC in the last 6 games or so.

  • raiderfanmikep

    any given Sunday lol

  • Ken SnakeLer

Don’t get me wrong, I’d love it. LOL

  • Ken SnakeLer

All of our road games are east. 🙂

  • raiderfanmikep

if SD and KC played to tie would be awesome lol

  • Ken SnakeLer

A’s question: How’s Eibner looked? Not sure I get why the Royals traded him for Burns. That dude’s sole job has been taking care of Rally Mantis. LOL

  • R8der4evr

    Not anyone here honestly

  • R8erEduc8er

Anything possible in Denver. Crowd can motivate them to a win on opening night. But yea, I’d put my money on Panthers.

  • hwnrdr

He’s been ok…except he has dropped 2 what could have been home run robbings! One yesterday! But then again, 2 collisions I believe! More power than Burns, but less speed!
