Get live scoring updates, news and analysis Saturday at 1:05 p.m. when the Raiders face the Indianapolis Colts at the Coliseum.

The Raiders (11-3) clinched their first playoff berth since 2002 last week, but are hoping to clinch the AFC West title this weekend. A Raiders win Saturday, coupled with a Chiefs loss on Sunday, would give Oakland the division title.

Meanwhile, the Colts (7-7) need to win in order to keep their faint playoff hopes alive. Indianapolis, though, comes into Oakland having won four straight road games.

The Colts are led by former Stanford star quarterback Andrew Luck, who has thrown for 3,631 yards and 27 touchdowns.

Derek Carr has also put up strong numbers for the Raiders at quarterback, with 3,705 yards and 25 touchdowns and just six interceptions. Carr has struggled somewhat over the past two games with a right pinkie injury that’s led to just a 36-for-71 passing performance.

    Thanks dummy!

Rooting for SD & MIA besides OAK this week

  • Raiderkoolaid

    Unless SD beats KC.

  • Raiderkoolaid

Teams don’t usually let franchise QB’s get away unless there is another franchise QB there. (Andrew Luck, Steve Young, or Aaron Rogers.)

Colts defensive end Trent Cole beat left tackle Donald Penn around the edge and lunged for Raiders quarterback Derek Carr Saturday in Oakland. His first attempt was unsuccessful. The second, however, hurt Carr and the Raiders in more ways than one.

After Carr stepped up in the pocket to avoid Cole’s first attempt, Cole continue his pursuit and wrapped his arms around Carr, twisting him to the ground. The end result was a broken right fibula for Oakland’s star quarterback.

Before the news broke, Cole wished nothing but the best for Carr.

“Things happen, and it sucks that it happened,” Cole told The Indianapolis Star on Carr having to exit Saturday’s game early. “He loves to play football just like I love to play football. I hope he’s OK, man. I really do.”

Once Cole heard the news of Carr’s broken right fibula, the 34-year-old veteran pleaded that the last thing he tried to do was hurt Carr.

“There was no intent,” Cole told The Star softly while looking down at the ground as columnist Gregg Doyel describes the scene. Cole uttered the words again as Doyel walked away to exit the locker room.

At the time of Carr’s injury, the third-year quarterback had thrown for 3,933 yards with 28 touchdowns to only six interceptions this season.

When o.co showed the SD loss on the screen. The roar was so loud. Priceless

  • Raidermarty

which probably means the last time we won the Super Bowl was the last time we had a great quarterback. Can we do it with McGloin? Well he will have to show us something he’s never shown us before but I’m willing to give him the chance. Go Raiders!

  • BRRUUUCCCEEE (baby Al)

All the shows counting us out. Its Steelers, KC and Patriots in the AFC now.

  • Raiderkoolaid

I don’t think we could afford to pay him what he will be worth after winning the Superbowl, not with Mack and Carr contracts on the horizon, but I will be happy for him for every dime he gets.

  • MEX_GHOST

We will tag him, only to got him back and trade him. Just like me did with Casell.

  • idahoraiderfan33

Taking Derek Carr off the RAIDERS is like taking Brady or Big Ben away from the Steelers.. Not a lot of people would give them much of a chance either

  • idahoraiderfan33

The Steelers with Landry or the Pats with Jimmy G entering the playoffs is the same as the RAIDERS entering the playoffs with McGloin
You just can’t replace eilte QBs

  • idahoraiderfan33

Yeah it was just a freak play, that’s all.. And it cost us Carr

  • idahoraiderfan33

We won’t see Carr till OTAs

  • Raiderkoolaid

McGloin has always been an over achiever. He wasn’t recruited to a major college coming out of high school. He walked on and Penn St. and eventually won the starting job. Then when the Sandusky scandal hit and most of the good players quit the program to play elsewhere he stayed and everyone thought Penn St. didn’t have a chance at a decent season, but he led them to a winning record anyway. Then coming out of college he wasn’t invited to the scouting combine, They thought that at 6′ 1″ he wasn’t tall enough to be an NFL QB, (same as Drew Brees) but Reggie gave him a chance to try out, probably because they needed another camp arm. The Raiders had drafted a QB in the third round with the expectation the he be the third string clip board holder, but from the beginning of camp McGloin was the better QB and ended up making the team. Then when he got a chance to start a few games as a rookie he put up decent stats on a bad team with little help around him. Now they are counting him out again, saying he isn’t good enough and the Raiders’s season is lost. I have no doubt he is about to overachieve again.

  • Raiderkoolaid

Like the time when Jeff Hostetler stepped in for Phil Sims and won the Superbowl for the Giants?

  • idahoraiderfan33

Im not saying it can’t be done, anything can happen..
I am saying that nobody is giving us a chance anymore because we just lost our MVP QB..

  • BRRUUUCCCEEE (baby Al)

Plunkett came off the bench also twice

  • idahoraiderfan33

Again, im not saying it can’t be done.. Run the ball, hit the open man, play good defense and we have a chance even with McGloin..
Im just saying, the Media gave up on the RAIDERS as soon as Carr went down for the year..

  • idahoraiderfan33

Heck even RAIDER beat writers gave up on the RAIDERS for this year.. For me it ain’t over till it’s over

  • BRRUUUCCCEEE (baby Al)

The media would like hot sauce with their crow when they get proven wrong

  • BRRUUUCCCEEE (baby Al)

We have one of the best o line, running game, defense on a up swing and the best wrs. No need to panic. Also no teams have film on McGloin with this team

  • idahoraiderfan33

The media sees Carr in the same light as the ELITE QBs, so as soon as he went down they jumped ship.. I mean if Big Ben went down or Brady we would be the same way, there season is over..
But the truth is, it ain’t over till it’s over

  • idahoraiderfan33

Agreed, run the ball, hit the open man, limit mistakes and TOs and play good sound defense.. And we have a chance

  • idahoraiderfan33

They talking McGloin right now on NFLN

  • idahoraiderfan33

They pretty much said McGloin is a respected guy, and the RAIDERS are confident in him.. Smart player that’s been in the system..

  • idahoraiderfan33

We need to beat the Donks and wrap up the AFCW and a first round bye.. That’s the most important thing as of now..

  • idahoraiderfan33

If we lose and KC wins we go on the road and play Tom Savage and the Texans
That is not exactly Brady or Big Ben or even Alex Smith we would be facing..
I would like our chances, big time

  • BRRUUUCCCEEE (baby Al)

The media would of been slobbering over Garrappolo

  • idahoraiderfan33

Our secondary was getting picks on Luck and pretty much dominated them up until the Carr injury.. I would say Luck is better than Savage eh

  • BRRUUUCCCEEE (baby Al)

Only because he plays for NE

  • idahoraiderfan33

True but they would not be the favorite anymore, and the media would know it..

  • BRRUUUCCCEEE (baby Al)

Reggie knew mcgloin value. That’s why he put the 2nd rd tender on him

  • MEX_GHOST

    Love it!!

  • MEX_GHOST

We will learn soon if McG deserved the tender.

  • BRRUUUCCCEEE (baby Al)

Look for irvin and Mack being unstoppable the rest of the way

  • BRRUUUCCCEEE (baby Al)

In the playoffs its all about defense.. with or without Carr we need our defense to play at a high level

  • BRRUUUCCCEEE (baby Al)

    Message to the nation:

Although this situation is the toughest thing I’ve ever faced in my football career, it will not stop me from coming back stronger than ever. I left everything I had out there on that field for my God, family, brothers on that team, and Raider nation. I felt so much love in that stadium as I was hopping off the field, and that same love is what my team will feel from me going forward. We still have work to do as a team, and goals to obtain. Although I may not be throwing the ball right now, I will do whatever I have to do to help US win.
    Merry Christmas.
    Derek

  • BRRUUUCCCEEE (baby Al)

The MVP chants were monsterous when he got hurt. The stadium echoed with MVP! MVP! MVP! MVP! MVP! I know Derek felt the love from all of us.

Who knows.. tomorrow doctors might find damage not that bad and could be back in 4 weeks.

  • MEX_GHOST

    Wasnt the surgery today??

  • BRRUUUCCCEEE (baby Al)

Things might open up more offensively now that McGloin is under center. We were limited from the shotgun due to Carr pinkie injury

  • BRRUUUCCCEEE (baby Al)

    No reschedule for tomorrow
