Get live scoring updates, news and analysis Sunday at 1:25 p.m. when the playoff-bound Raiders travel to Denver to face the Broncos.

The Raiders (11-3) can clinch the AFC West championship with a victory over the Broncos (8-7), who will be playing their last game under coach Gary Kubiak, who is expected to resign after the season for health reasons.

This will also be Oakland’s first game without star quarterback Derek Carr, who broke his fibula in a win over the Colts last week and will be lost for the season. Backup quarterback Matt McGloin gets his first opportunity to lead the Raiders on Sunday.

The Raiders, who have won eight of their last nine games, need a win or a Kansas City loss to clinch the division title and gain a first-round playoff bye.

The Broncos are expected to split quarterback duties Sunday between Trevor Siemian and first-round pick Paxton Lynch.

  • still looked like the rest of the team pretty much laid down which I think speaks volumes to how much faith the team had in McGloin in the first place.

  • rifflicks

Historically in any sport…..the best, and most successful motivator ever is for the coach to tell the team he is retiring and this will be his last game he ever coaches…..and this was a damn good Donkey team to begin with…..Defending world champions ….at home….with the chance to F over their arch rivals going into the playoffs……….you wishy-washy nitpicky crybabies are sickening

Carr has carried the Raiders with one of the worst defenses in the NFL and in the toughest division and hes not in the MVP conversation?- Colin Cowherd

  • idahoraiderfan33

That’s not a shock. Osweiler is better than Savage

  • idahoraiderfan33

Conner Cook expected to start per NFLN

  • idahoraiderfan33

And if Cincy was in the playoffs he would get to play.

  • idahoraiderfan33

Everybody knows Carr is the MVP of the league!!
But those voters would rather give it to a guy that was suspended the first 4 games of the year for CHEATING!!
If it hurts to much to give it to Carr, than give it to Matt Ryan!!

  • idahoraiderfan33

    Enter Conner Cook??

  • idahoraiderfan33

Could you imagine if Carr played for the Jets and the Jets were sitting at 12-4 and entering the playoffs?! He would WIN every award the NFL has to offer. In fact we would all have Derek Carr burn out, on how much ESPN, NFLN, etc would pimp him!! Sports TV would start and end with Derek Carr!!

  • idahoraiderfan33

And now we show you the 3 most famous people in the US
    Derek Carr
    Trump
    Obama
    lol

  • idahoraiderfan33

Wow, Megyn Kelly leaving FOX and joining NBC

  • rifflicks

Carr is 4th on the list in the article I read…..hardly “not in the MVP conversation”

  • Raiders21

Happy New Year Riff, with one of the Raider’s main goals (winning the division) on the line and in their control, their effort put forth was pathetic. Sure we can give Broncos credit, but that was a lackluster effort.

    Report: #Raiders preparing with expectation Connor Cook will start at Houston (@BairCSN) http://www.csnbayarea.com/raiders/report-raiders-preparing-expectation-cook-will-start-houston … #Texans #NFLPlayoffs #NFL

  • BRRUUUCCCEEE (baby Al)

Right now its all Rodgers and Brady with a little of Matt Ryan followed by zeke and Dak

  • Raiders21

It should go to either Rodgers or Ryan. They have done more with less. Take them away from their teams and those teams are nothing this year.

  • Raiders21

Will make it interesting to say the least especially with ailing o line

  • idahoraiderfan33

Cook is a big classic pro style QB that ain’t afraid to wing it..
He went after that Donk secondary without fear. But he is a rookie getting reps for the first time all year, facing the 1 rank defense.
With that said we need to run the ball, stop the run, imo

  • idahoraiderfan33

Im not going to hype Cook up like i did McGloin, don’t want another let down.
I wish Cook well and i hope he lights the Texans up!!
He has legit starting QB talent.

  • idahoraiderfan33

So the Rat Jr very interested in the Donk job and would keep Phillips. Hmmmm

  • Raiders21

Everyone must elevate their play to help the QB. Defense was terrible last week. Poor tackling, giving up 3rd and 18 for a TD. Believe it or not, but the Raiders finished last in sacks with Mack and Irvin. No one else stepped up.

Michael Crabtree on Connor Cook: “I loved his composure out there. I can’t wait to see him play this week.” #Raiders

  • BRRUUUCCCEEE (baby Al)

Players didnt have comments like these on McGloin except that hes a fiery guy

  • rifflicks

strictly subjective…..you didn’t see what you wanted to

  • idahoraiderfan33

Watson, Rivera and Murray i could see coming back

  • BRRUUUCCCEEE (baby Al)

When Carr isn’t on the field are play calling has been off. He changes lots of plays at the line

  • rifflicks

I’m glad we already have a GM

  • idahoraiderfan33

Sadly without Carr it’s up climb for our defense.
Our defense gave up leads in most games we played and Carr would bring us back and win it. Now no Carr

  • idahoraiderfan33

Hard to say if we bring any of those players back??
Maybe Smith and Hayden on the cheap.

  • idahoraiderfan33

Not the arm talent Amari, that’s what counts!!

  • TJ

do you disagree with my assessment?

  • BRRUUUCCCEEE (baby Al)

Hes probably saying that McGloin is too short

  • idahoraiderfan33

Catch that ball Crabtree when it hits you in the hands!!

  • RaidersOrNot

Wow not much there but that is obvious.

  • Raiders21

We finished last in sacks with Mack and Irvin lol

  • idahoraiderfan33

Yeah. But i would prefer Coop say, dude has a pretty good arm.

  • idahoraiderfan33

It’s sucks that Carr got hurt!! I really believed that the RAIDERS could beat NE with Carr.. No doubt in my mind

Raiders better give Garrett Gilbert a few practice snaps if McGloin truly has been ruled out, as PFT suggested. Gotta elevate him to the 53 first. Who is the odd man out? Dexter McDonald?
