Get live scoring updates, news and analysis Sunday at 1:25 p.m. when the playoff-bound Raiders travel to Denver to face the Broncos.

The Raiders (11-3) can clinch the AFC West championship with a victory over the Broncos (8-7), who will be playing their last game under coach Gary Kubiak, who is expected to resign after the season for health reasons.

This will also be Oakland’s first game without star quarterback Derek Carr, who broke his fibula in a win over the Colts last week and will be lost for the season. Backup quarterback Matt McGloin gets his first opportunity to lead the Raiders on Sunday.

The Raiders, who have won eight of their last nine games, need a win or a Kansas City loss to clinch the division title and gain a first-round playoff bye.

The Broncos are expected to split quarterback duties Sunday between Trevor Siemian and first-round pick Paxton Lynch.

They will bring the heat on 3rd & longs or if they build a lead … same as Denver. why not? it worked

  • BRRUUUCCCEEE (baby Al)

Cook should play. The team gave up on McGloin imo

  • idahoraiderfan33

The Cowboys and Dak would be one and done if they matchup with the Giants

  • BRRUUUCCCEEE (baby Al)

Yeah but Dak is a rookie. Coaches chose him over Sánchez. We need to choose cook over McGloin

  • BRRUUUCCCEEE (baby Al)

Rams and Sean Peyton have mutual interest

  • idahoraiderfan33

Crennel stopped the RAIDER run game the first time we played them, but Carr did enough to beat them.. Now it’s Cooks turn to see if he can beat Crennel

  • idahoraiderfan33

Great move for the Rams if they could land Peyton, imo

  • idahoraiderfan33

At this point it’s best to roll with Cook who is our future backup QB

  • idahoraiderfan33

The bottom line is, the RAIDERS as a whole have to play great in order to beat the Texans in Houston!! Everybody has to play GREAT

  • BRRUUUCCCEEE (baby Al)

Yes. McGloin will be gone next seadon anyway. Give Cook the time in there

@BairCSN You know, @derekcarrqb would have never come out of that game because he was “sore.” @McGloinQB11 was quick to call it quits

    What a CROCK

While no rational person wants to see anyone lose their job, especially this time of year, football is not most occupations. Nevertheless, the NFL is a results-oriented sport. In addition to the surplus of head coaches (which Oakland does not need,) there is a plethora of potential coordinators. Currently, Ken Norton occupies the role of defensive coordinator. At the same time, the defense appears listless, which is a telling sign. Yet, anyone who faithfully watches the Raiders can see possible room for a change. The solution could be a division rival.

Wade Phillips: Denver head coach Gary Kubiak retired due to health issues. This leaves his staff in an unbelievable state of flux. Critics will use Phillips’ age (turns 70 on June 21st) as a negative. In contrast, people tout Pete Carroll as a youthful leader. Truthfully, Phillips is only four years older.

Why Hire Him: Phillips, unlike Norton is brilliant schematically. His scheme is flexible in its creation. Plays maintain significant freedom. For instance, the defensive lineman’s duties simply include the man in front of them. Phillips’ down three play a one gap scheme. This minimizes over thinking and places the game in the hands of the talent. Forcing round pegs into square holes throws chaos into a defense. Players aren’t miscast with Phillips. To emphasize his impact, look at the players to flourish in his scheme:

  • BRRUUUCCCEEE (baby Al)

The only wa y Wade stays in Denver is if he is HC. The new HC will want his own DC

  • BRRUUUCCCEEE (baby Al)

We dropped the ball not making enuff runs. Only 15 carries all game

Denver’s game plan is obvious……stack the box…. stuff the run…. and make McGloin prove he can move the chains and score in the redzone with his arm.
From here on out the Raider WRs must eliminate the dropped balls and make good pre-snap reads at the LOS. …..on passing downs Walford has to put his man pants on too, and fight thru traffic to find the open seams to give McGloin a consistent target option. ….if McGloin can establish the quick short to intermediate passing game, opponents will have to shift the defense to cover it and that will open up the running lanes.

  • BRRUUUCCCEEE (baby Al)

He missed 2 wide open plays where they vould of taken to the house. They stackrd the box one was Amari wide open

  • rifflicks

yeah 2 plays would have changed the outcome of the game…….he missed Cooper by inches.too….and with all the drops Cooper has had, what makes you so sure he catches that one……Like Cook could have made that throw……plus I saw Carr miss plenty of throws like that all season……wake up crybaby

  • without Carr this team has no heart…

  • rifflicks

without Carr this team has nobody capable or experienced enough to run the offense…..especially in a playoff caliber setting.

  • Reuel Smith

then they had no heart to begin with.
