Tired of getting phone calls about consumers inquiring about the PlayStation 3 launch festivities at the Metreon, the Sony folks are issuing this FAQ for those calling in to the Metreon.

PS3 FAQ

Do not transfer any more calls to the PlayStation store since the store is closed for the day. If customers have any other questions please direct them to the PlayStation Website at www.playstation.com

“How may consoles do you have?”
The store is likely to sell out tonight.

Is the PlayStation store open today?”
No. The PlayStatin store will only be open for the midnight lauch ad will reopen tomorrow at 10 a.m.

“Is 4th St. going to be closed?”
Yes. It will be closed for crowd control from 7 p.m. tonight — 10 a.m. tomorrow moring.

“How many people are in line and should I try lining up now?”
700+ in line and they will not let any more people in.

–No projected date for second shipment. Call the PlayStation store Friday at 10 a.m for more information.

– People not in line are discouraged from joining festivities for crowd control purposes
