This just in from a reader about dance spots in Oakland, in response to the Friday¬†Night Owl — http://www.insidebayarea.com/oaklandtribune/localnews/ci_7223053.¬† Many thanks!

I read your article Friday about places to go dancing in the East Bay. You did a really good job, however, you failed to mention Arsimona’s Bar off of 12th and Clay. On Sunday nights they offer Chicago stepping. This style of dance was made more popular by R. Kelly’s Step in Name of Love song and video. In fact, the CD which featured that song had many songs that were steppin-friendly.

You may also want to know that the cover is cheap ($5) and lessons are provided for early arrivals.
