Holy blues guitars. I missed this on June 22 but it’s still news: Eli’s Mile High will be torn down next month (Tuesday July 8th). In honor of the club thats been a blues haven for so many musicians Tom (Troyce Key Uncle) is hosting a private Blues Jam tonite from 8pm – 1am, all the blues greats from the bay area will be there, the doors open at 7 signup is at 7:30 and will kick it off at 8pm. This is for musicians for musicians to say good bye to Eli’s Mile High Club for good.

This is probably a bunch of publicity BS to get a knee jerk reaction. There is NO NOTICE OF CONSTRUCTION on the building. Someone named Jason, who my neighbor met on the 24th, is planning to setup a BBQ restaurant and bar at Eli’s. I’m hoping without the cabaret permit. Why don’t you actually try calling the guy, Mike, who owns the building before posting some rumor from craigslist.

I tried to confirm it but haven’t heard back from those guys. From what I heard, no one showed up June 22 when the goodbye jam was supposed to happen and last I heard the only plans for Eli’s was to hand it over to a new operator. OTOH, I wouldn’t be surprised. The ghosts of Eli’s have kept the place open this long. I think it would be sad to lose the place entirely.
