SF Magazine’s best bar manager is Thad Vogler of the new Camino on Grand Avenue and Beretta on Velencia Street across the Bay because “he sprearheaded a renaissance of traditional cocktails and small-batch artisinal spirits.” His resume also includes Flora over here and other high profile restaurants in San Francisco.┬áSeveral other East Bay restaurants were on the magazines “Where to eat now” list: Vics Chaat House, Sea Salt, Angeline’s Luisiana Kitchen and Maritime (thankfully they have painted over the hideous aqua blue and green┬ástripes on the facade) in Berkeley, and in Oakland Cafe Madrid, Cesar, Di Bartolo, Flora, Franklin Square Bar, Jojo, Levende East, Mono, Oliveto (with a scathing review), Pizzaiolo, Seoul Gom Tang, Somerset and Wood Tavern.
