Dead but not forgotten

It was about five years ago that Oakland’s art scene was buzzing enough to attract attention by outsiders — long enough for the retrospective-with-a-twist, The Dead Space Show, now at LoBot Gallery. The show retraces six galleries that have died out like some species passed over by the harsh form of natural selection that takes place in the art world. Theo Konrad Auer and SWEE(t)art publisher Obi Kaufmann team up with John Casey to provide a zine that accompanies the show.  Check it out for yourselves. LoBot is at 1800 Campbell St.
