First Fridays at Oakland’s music conservatory

 FirstFridays beginning 7:30 – 10:00 pm, Feb. 6 at the Oakland Public Conservatory of Music
FREE-JAZZ and IMPROV OPEN STAGE OPEN MIKE!

Host: Bill Crossman, pianist & OPCM Faculty Member

Admission $5 (free for 16 yrs & under)
Musicians sign up for a 10-minute slot onstage and perform as they wish-solo, with their own ensemble, or by selecting other musicians in the room. After performing, musicians can sign up for more slots if time permits.
A piano and trap drum kit will be available.

 

Marcus Shelby Jazz Orchestra at the Oakland Public Conservatory of Music
noon-3 pm Saturday

Then…

from 3 p.m. Sunday Oakland chamber symphony and youth orchestra rock you with everything from the 18th Century to the Harlem Renaissance.
Location: The James Moore Theater in the Oakland Museum, 1000 Oak St (at 10th)
