Oakland Tribune Outtakes

The NY Times travel story about Oakland in today’s paper was supposed to appear in the weekend of the OPD officer shootings. I was wondering when they’d finally run it. Evidently, the fact-checkers were pretty careful to make sure the reporter had actually visited the locales mentioned, which, I am sorry to say, are more or less the expected venues. I may have my weaknesses but that’s not one of them. That said, it’s all good. We’re always complaining that newspapers only write about problems in Oakland and ignores the good stuff.
