Looks like they have a website up at kuwaoakland.com. The even got lunch and dinner menus online, so I called in an order yesterday for the sandwich with grilled chicken, smoked gouda, and carmelized onions. O M G it was awesome!! So tonight I went to dinner there. The ambiance was great… but not as great as the mac n cheese, which was like the best thing ever. Also their sweet potato fries were noteworthy as was, of course, their fried chicken.

Can’t say myself yet. I was too sick to get to the “grand opening” Friday night, which I guess was the launch of dinner service since lunch has been served for a while. Anyway I think it’s an asset to the Old Oakland neighborhood and hope it keeps going.

I have been to this restaurant and the food is excellent. A must try is the gumbo or jambalaya, the wings are too bad either. While any night or day the food is good they have live jazz and sangrias on Friday night. The jazz band is excellent and the peach sangria is my favorite.

Kuwa will be good for oakland, if you are looking for a relax mature place to eat and be entertain. Live local jazz musician will be showcase. This new chef name Reign Free is off the hook…I had some of her beans and rice..omg.. and her mango cobbler.. I can’t wait.

Kuwa’s is going to be hot! I went past there today, and they are gearing up for a great grand opening. The owners have their cabaret licence, and the cook, I hear is off the hook! She’s young, and fresh, and her name is even fierce! Reign Free. Hot, right? This is going to add the jingle and mingle that Oakland has needed for so long. I can’t wait to be smackin’ on some mac and cheese, and listening to some tunes at Kuwa’s. Join me!
