My Thursday night

By awoodall

For anyone watching “Community” tonight you would have seen Chevy Chase grooving to remixes of hits by hometown band, Fans of Jimmy Century: “Hot Sahara (Lenny B Remix)” and “Dirty Little Love Train.” I did not get to see the episode or any other although I have been wanting to for months. Instead, tonight I was freezing on the street with other reporters as well as neighbors locked out of their homes at 64th and Bancroft after a shooting that killed one man and injured another. I don’t mind being out there but I was sorry to have missed the blogger party tonight, the first Thursday open house at the Gilman (writing a story about) and the opening of ProArts Gallery’s new show. I stopped by this afternoon to get my mind off the fact that my interviews of people on the street for another story were going exactly nowhere. Really liked the work on the walls. More about that later. I’m really tired.
