No, I have not posted this article before. I have had six of my tires slashed in West Oakland. Two at 82 and International and four at 82 and Bancroft. I have not parked there again, except when I have a look out person.

ARRRGH! What a pain.
As for the log, that’s weird. I know the one discovered Wednesday morning was reported to police and they were there when I arrived. As for the one discovered Thursday I would have thought neighbors would have called police since they called me. Maybe there wasn’t enough time for it to show up since the slashing was discovered this morning and it takes forever for things to show up in the log. Anyway, I heard from even more people later whose tired had been slashed. The vandals are slicing two tires which is a total headache and I bet no one can get insurance to pay for the replacements.

Interesting that Oakland police have no record of the recent tire slashing spree on their log from last night. I imagine it’s because people don’t bother to report such vandalism even though it’s definitely a crime and can cost a lot in time, money and nuisance value to have a tire(s) repaired or replaced. When somebody spiked my new tire a few weeks ago I had to spend $140 to replace it because the hole was in the sidewall and couldn’t be repaired.
I never even thought about reporting it to OPD… now I’m thinking I should have.
