Which is more likely? Pombo is defeated? or, the Democrats retake the House of Representatives?

Suppose the Democrats win back the House. Which Democratic member of Congress would be mostly to take over Pombo’s chairmsnship?

Also, if Pombo is so far ahead and is going to win anyway, I wonder if the environmental groups’ spending so much money on him is worth it.

An interesting unknown is, what effect Al Gore and his An Inconvenient Truth will have on the election. I have heard that the old venerable Crest Theatre in downtown Sacramento has steadily had good attendance. However, Sacramento, like central CoCo County, is “far” away from the voters who will decide if Pombo is reelected.

Perhaps, the environmentalists’ trying to get a legitimate dialogue going with Pombo & Co. is worth a try. (Please don’t laugh out loud!)
